Thanks everyone for the info, I will look into planning to go there. There will be 4 of us, Myself the DW and BIL and SIL. Something different than just staying close by the port. We are not sailing until Nov '19 on Allure so I have a while to plan.

Has anyone been to Coral World in St.Thomas when they went there ? I have just recently came across this attraction and wondered if it was worth the time to go there, time permitting.... I would like to see this as it looks very interesting. On a map it shows only 22 minutes from Charlotte Amalie.
Thanks,David

I'm assuming the updated attrachtions/waterpark will be open by then?
I hope it is, would be great to go after it is completed. It has been a few years since we were last there.

I am also not much of a fan of Nassau. But after our private Rum tour last year I would go back to Nassau just for the Rum tour and to visit the off the beaten path places we found out about in Nassau. As for Coco Cay, prob won't spend too much time there on our next cruise there as we are not really beach goers. But will do some exploring when we go Nov '19.

We spent a night in San Juan last month prior to boarding the Adventure. We met a couple at the hotel who had gotten off the week before. They had done a B2B2B2B2B (35 nights on board) and said they never got off the ship until disembarkation day.
WOW !!! That's a lot of days. Maybe in the future I would like to do a B2B but not sure about 35 days.

Been to the Caribbean too many times. Last 8 cruises, all on an Oasis Class ship, never got off the ship at any port.
We only sail 7 night cruises. Just sail to enjoy our room and the ship.
This is what we want to do. Haven’t spent a whole cruise on board but would love the less crowded port days.

Just curious how many cruisers go on say a 7 night or longer cruise and just stayed on the ship the entire cruise. Either because you have been to the ports or just cruise for the ship and not for the stops. Thinking about this in the future.

A countdown appeared in my account this morning. Not much of one, but it's there.
Well at least there is one. I liked the old one better,It started right after you booked. Not a big fan of the Dashboard page. I thought it was great the way it was.

I guess the Countdown to Cruise status bar that used to be at the top of the RCCL site is gone ? I really enjoyed that status/ticker bar. Thats too bad, not a fan of the new layout of the site.

Yes, Royal now has ways to disable the C&A balcony discount. I know that BOGO is combinable with the balcony discount. However, if SPSM or BLST are adding an additional discount, they are probably not combinable with the balcony discount. If you book and find that the balcony discount would have been better for you than the other "instant discounts", you can contact whoever booked your cruise and ask them to remove the instant discounts and add the balcony discount.
Thank you, You have been very helpful.

Do these only apply when no other promotion is going? I don't see the C&A discount specifically.I see BOGO , SPSM, BLST when doing a mock booking.

We are Platinum members so Is there no balcony discount when in a GS or higher ? I don't see any discount when doing a mock booking.

No, if you are booking 4 passengers to one cabin, it has to all be on one reservation. You want it this way any so that you get the lower rate for the 3rd/4th passengers in the cabin.
Would this apply to the total bill or once the reservation and down payment is made could the payments be paid by each couple separate. Both couples have the RC credit card so it would be nice to get double points for each couple.
-
That answered my question thank you. It makes sense now I totally forgot about the 3-4 discount.
-
Hello fellow cruisers..... I have looked around the forum for the answer to this question to no avail, We are going on Allure in Nov '19 in a Grand Suite 2BR and we want to book each couple separate. Is this possible ? I have emailed RCCL and no response from them. I know I might get the answer I am looking for here.
Thanks in advance, David

We have had the BoA RCI card for 13 years. We have saved enough points for a free 4 night cruise (minus port fees) and multiple discounts and OBC. We tend to spend a lot on this card so the points add up pretty fast. Sure there are other cards that may have better return rates but we are happy with the benefits we get with it.

We sailed Explorer out of Seattle in June and we used the luggage valet service for flights after 11am. It was great, you will fill out paperwork that is given in stateroom, ( flight info, destination airport) and they provide luggage tags and boarding passes. put out luggage the night before disembark and didn't see it until we arrived in Tampa. Every port should do this.

During our sailing the FlowRider most of the time was closed due to being too cold, low 50's. Not really sure if I was ever open at all but we didn't go up there but only a couple of times. The wind was bone chilling, prob in 30's with wind chill.

We sailed on Explorer in June and had a great time. It is going to be pretty cold during most of the cruise make sure you have some warm clothes, it was mostly in high 40's to mid 50's when we went but you could have some warm days, in the 60's . Not a lot of outdoor activities on pool deck other than movies showing and selling warm weather clothes, which we did get some gloves and beenie caps.
We enjoyed it very much and very different than a Caribbean cruise. The scenery is breathtaking and well worth it in my opinion.

We were on this same cruise on Explorer in June and we had breakfast in both the Windjammer and MDR. Benefit of eating in MDR mostly is getting a table as soon as you go in as not very crowded as in the Windjamer. I believe the same food as Windjammer but a limited menu to chose from and it is a little quieter and less crowded in MDR.

We sailed in June on Explorer, the luggage service is available they give you a form to fill out the ship prints your tags and boarding passes and you meet your luggage at final destination. Well worth it in my opinion. This is for flights after 11am I believe.
I believe it is possible to make an 11am flight, just opt for self disembarkation around 6;30, if you have booked transportation in advance it is much faster to get out of port area. We made it to the airport by 8:30 but our flight wasn't until 2:00.

We went to Alaska in June and for the most part it was cold, rainy, but not all the time and mostly in low to high 50's. We took a medium jacket and some long sleeve shirts and jeans. They will have jackets, gloves and hats to buy on the ship, (which I took advantage of). But safe bet is layers that you can put on and take off.

When we were on Explorer it was accessible for anyone, if you knew how to get there. Was VERY windy and COLD prob high 40's the day we went out, but it was Alaska...... Went out from Promenade deck all the way forward and up the stairs. Great views.
