We were really looking forward to sailing to Hawaii on July 7. We're bummed out. now.
Our problem now is finding a replacement cruise that has an accessible cabin.
Any guesses as to why? Someone on another site speculated lack of crew.

Go figure. I open the app and it shows I'm sailing in 15 days. That would be great if true. I rebooked that trip until this July. I did it over a month ago and it's not in my personalizer but it's in the Ocean Medallion???? Huh?

I wouldn’t uninstall/ reinstall the app. Most of the problems seem to be from data/database issues. And reinstalling the app wont make a difference.
The only reason I've done it is because it was a suggested solution last year. You're right, it hasn't done anything.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! Once again, the app and now even the web version don't recognize my upcoming booking on the Discovery April 29.
I was hoping it would be different than our last cruises in December. But nope. "No booking number found" Tried the uninstalling, clearing history/cache and then tried the web version. Neither work.
I know that once it works and I'm onboard things will be fine, but for whatever reason, it still doesn't work like it should. Sigh....

Now I'm curious if the new variant Omicron will further delay Hawaii's opening?

Well, today finally got the app to work by simply clearing the cache on my phone. This was a super simple fix that I hadn't thought of and don't remember reading about.
Off to Mexico tomorrow on the beautiful Majestic Princess.

Nope we are both apple, I'm Green but wife doesn't register at all and we both have our medallions. Go figure...no worries
Yeah, that's why I wonder if it's more of an Android issue. I updated recently Android 11, wondering if the update has caused the issue.
I'm just going to show up and not worry about it. Almost the same thing happened on our October cruise. Got to the port and was told I was Green Lane, but not showing on the app.

Currently for those sailing to Hawaii on the Grand those cruises haven’t been canceled.

We're on the Grand January 4. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the early sailings in January are cancelled. I hope not, but wouldn't be surprised, just disappointed.

So, we cruise this Saturday the 27th on the Majestic.
I had already accessed the Medallion app a week or so ago. Everything was fine for my wife's booking, but I had to reenter passport, credit card and emergency contact. OK, it was annoying, but I did it and it showed Green Lane.
Yesterday, went to access it again, this time I'm blocked out and it won't even allow me to log on. Doesn't accept my booking number. Even got a call from Princess this morning saying I needed to finish my logging on in the app. Did the usual uninstall, reinstall etc. Still a no go.
Since we live so close to San Pedro, it's not bothering me because we can simply show up and get everything fixed at the port. But, this thing is a mess.
Read other posts commenting on someone should be held responsible. My understanding is the new president of the company was the driving force behind the Medallion experience. I kinda doubt we'll hear a mea culpa from him.
I know it's a code glitch somewhere and I wonder if it's an Apple Android thing? My wife is Apple and I'm Android 11 and I do wonder if when I did the last update gremlins got into the app.
Happy Sailings

That sounds like a good plan. I never would have thought about it if I hadn't read this post.
If the trip is like our last one on the Majestic in October, it was just under 1/2 full, so no waiting for anything. I use a mobility scooter and always expect an elevator wait, really had no waits even on the panoramic lifts. Pools and hot tubs seemed empty. But this was a trip north and not south. This time we plan on getting in the pool.

I think we are going to try it and Bistro Sur La Mer this upcoming trip Nov 27. Had a great meal at the Crown Grill last month.

Lanyard. But considering the wristband.

Yes. Much slower than pre-pandemic. Probably took almost 2 weeks to get our credit. Previously as I remember they used to appear almost within a day or two of faxing the forms.
-
Agreed. But we got off the Majestic last Saturday and rebooked a Mexican Riviera for the end of the month today.
Was I growing crazy trying to check in prior to the cruise? Yes. Did it function properly during the cruise? No, and even the Medallion Navigators couldn't get it to work.
Did this dissuade me from my rebooking another cruise in 30 days? Not in the least.
It's a great concept that's not yet ready for prime time, but it doesn't keep me from wanting to be out to sea.

We had a 1/4/22 for HI. Cancelled last month. Same reason...prefer to wait and hang onto our $$, rather than let Princess hold it.
Our cruise is 1/4/22 on the Grand. I haven't received anything about a cancellation.
I've wondered as well about shore excursions in Kahului.

We're currently on the Majestic as well. We concur portions are smaller in the MDR. For us the flavor has been OK, not bad but not as good as I remember. Had dinner tonight in the Crown Grill and it was excellent as well as pizza in Alfredo's. The buffet has been so-so.
But the Princess staff continue to shine. They are world class and interacting with them is a pleasure. They make up for any misses with the food.

Please don't be the person who gets sick in a foreign port without medical evacuation insurance. No one needs that stress.

The rooms are bigger, not sure about the balconies. But, I have a friend who absolutely needs an accessible cabin and Princess may move you if you don't really need it. It has happened in the past for her, where at first there are no cabins, then Princess will move guests and she gets a cabin.
I book really early to get an accessible cabin. This upgrade was from one accessible balcony to another one. All is good. I'm writing this from the Lido deck on the Majestic and am so happy to be back onboard.👍😃👍

Thanks good to know. We're in an accessible balcony, so are those balconies also bigger.?
-
We got an "Upgrade" notice from Princess this past week for our January sailing to Hawaii on the Grand.
Wow! I finally hit the upgrade lottery!!!
Then saw the upgrade was a move from an Aloha balcony to Caribe deck balcony. Huh? What kind of upgrade is that. So I asked and found out it's because our previous cabin was a set aside quarantine cabin. It's no problem for me, but I did chuckle about Princess calling it an upgrade.

Wait patiently (ignore the app for now)...we're supposed to get access to everything on our PCs again in November 🤞 .
If that doesn't work out, just go the the port with all of your paperwork and do it there. From reports here, it doesn't take any longer doing it the "old-fashioned" way than it used to.
Let's hope so. We sail the Majestic tomorrow on a California coastal, and having nothing but problems with the app. So Blue Lane likely tomorrow. But for our Hawaii cruise in January will look forward to doing check in the "old fashioned" way on the website.

I mailed my shareholders benefit form weeks ago. They couldn't find it. Then faxed and was denied because my name wasn't on my statement. So fixed it and faxed it again only to never hear back. So I finally got through to a helpful rep on the phone. Finally emailed it again, but was told to bring my paperwork on board since there's no guarantee it'll be processed before we sail this Saturday the 23rd on the Majestic.
Prior to the pandemic and the melt down of CCL stock I'd never had an issue, doing what I did this time.
-
Sail the Majestic this Saturday the 23rd and the app is a mess. Keeps loading and jumping about. Finally was green lane up until today, now we're blue Lane
I have an updated Samsung Note 10 and my wife has an iPhone 12. Her app works better than mine but neither work like they should.
I don't know how many times I've accepted the passage contract/COVID alert and it never "sticks" Sometimes it's ok but most of the times I get the big exclamation mark rather than the green check. As well it's showed we haven't registered a CC, but I've done it and then tried again by deleting it and putting in a new CC number.
I'm glad we're just a few minutes from the port, so we can take our time at embarkation check in. My guess is that maybe there will be a few of us in the blue lane.
We like Princess very much, but this is disappointing and frustrating.

Yes, I think we're spoiled by the ADA which is one reason we have Hawaii and Alaska booked. I'm glad to hear about other positive experiences in other countries. Yes, I can get up and down steps, I just can't stand a long time or walk too far. I will look into independent tour providers. Thanks again.
