We port in Barcelona off the Oasis on a Sunday at 6:00am. For a large portion of passengers this is the end of their cruise and they will be disembarking. For those of us who boarded in Rome it is a day to explore Barcelona. We would probably head out at around 9:00……..amidst the chaos of passengers coming and going with their luggage. Would it be possible to get a taxi or better to use the cruise port bus to get away from the pier area?

Not new to cruising but we have sailed extensively on RCCL, a few Celebrity. Looking at some Europe itineraries for 2025. How does Princess compare to RCCL? Am I correct that the deposits are refundable until final payment is made? Are the Plus or Premium Packages offered over Standard booking of any value? What is “crew appreciation” listed in those packages? Any other tips, comparisons would be appreciated. Happy Holidays. Thanks

We board the Oasis in Rome on Thursday, May 16 for a seven day cruise. Day #2 Friday is Naples; Day #3 Saturday is the only sea day……..would formal night be Day #2 or #3? Thanks

The last time we ported in LS we took a public bus to Porto Venere which is beautiful in itself. We ate lunch there and took the ferry to the Cinque Terre, then the train back to LS. Seeing the Cinque Terre villages from the ferry was amazing. The villages were very crowded and actually a turn off. This trip we will again head to Porto Venere for lunch and spend time walking around LS……r/t by the #100 bus

Has anyone used a private tour company from the port in La Spezia to Florence (without Pisa?) Our go to company Rome Cabs is not doing that tour for lack of drivers in the area? Thanks

We have been to Aix en Provence. Where else should we explore with or without a private tour. This would be mid May 2024. Thinking of Cassis but not sure how much time needed to explore and eat lunch. On a 7-8 hour tour could we revisit Aix and then visit Cassis or is that too much time on the road? Thanks

This is for next May and we are in port from 8:30 to 8:30, a Wednesday. We have been to Florence and we have been to Cinque Terre. Is it crazy to consider a private excursion to Florence from La Spezia or is it just too long of a trip. It would be w/o a stop in Pisa. Thanks

It has been a few years. If I remember the ship docks at Moll Garibaldi and there are shuttles to take you to the cruise terminal. From there what is the best place to catch the P11 bus to Porto Venere? I would need somewhere near a tabaccheria to purchase bus tickets. Or should we just walk into La Spezia near the Mercato Nord? We have ported in Naples a bunch of times, ferried to Capri, seen the ruins of Pompeii and toured the amazing Amalfi Coast. Our next stop in May 2024 we were hoping to get some insight in spending time in the Naples City Centre……walk from the port? where to begin? Group tour or on our own? Any basic suggestions to help get my research going. Was thinking of adding a food tour but guessing that might be just as easy to figure out on our own as well. Thanks for any tips.

I questioned Rome Cabs about a 7:45 pick up from the port in Civitavecchia, during the week to get to FCO for a 12:30 flight. This was their response. Your thoughts please. Dear Martin, With a 7:45 AM pick-up time from the port you would arrive at the airport around 8:45 AM which is almost 3.5 hours before the flight departure. Most cruisers plan to arrive at the airport no less than 2 hours before their flights, so your pick-up time is quite early. If you arrive too early the check-in counters for flight departures may not be open yet (that's what our clients told us when they arrived too early at the airport) Thank you very much! Have a 9:45am flight the day after our cruise. Can you recommend a hotel 10-15 minute taxi ride to FCO. Preferably walkable to some decent restaurants……nice area to walk around. thanks

It has been a while and although we have embarked in Barcelona we have never been there as a port stop. Where is the pier in relationship to the base of Las Ramblas and is there usually a shuttle? For our cruise we start on a Thursday in Rome but passengers disembark on Sunday in Barcelona. I’m guessing it would be difficult getting a taxi since many passengers are headed to the airport or hotels…….while others like us are heading out to sightsee. Appreciate your advice. Thanks

It has been a few years since our last Med cruise. We spend so much time in port, we never really took a beverage package. Am I correct only one bottle, per adult and ONLY on embarkation day? We used to be able to also bring a bottle on at port stops but I guess now that is not allowed. thanks

Still no definitive answer to my question. I am looking at various r/t flights Delta JFK to FCO next April and May. It appears that Delta is blocking lots of seats on various dates of the non stop morning flights to Rome……..heads appear in lots of the aisle seats NOT ANY WINDOW SEATS of rows A and B; H and J…………OR……don’t they want singles booking those seats and they open up if you continue the booking process for a couple?
