  1. And if you want to do something in La Romano, do the dune buggy excursion. It was the best excursion ever. Came back all muddy and you get to drive them through the small town and see the people and sugar cane fields. Everyone on the ship was jealous when we returned covered in mud. It was exhilarating and very fun.

  2. I booked a cruise under the casino rate (simply the cheaper rates) back in December. Since then, the casino rate has still been available for me to book under. The most recent time I saw it available was April. I was planning on booking another cruise for the fall, but when I recently looked at the beginning of May, it is no longer available to me and still isn't as of today. Is it possible that I am no longer eligible for it? I have not cruised recently, so its not like they saw my level of play was down and decided to pull the offer. Should I call my PVP and see if I can get it back so that I can use it to book my fall cruise?

Yes, you need to look at expiration dates on offer. My last one expired 4/27/17 and I can see it no longer shows up in my offers online. There are deadlines on "need to book by" and also need to sail by dates. But I have found they frequent a few times a year.

  3. We changed from ES to Casino when we found it was cheaper. Stranger thing was we had to move one cabin. Crazy. From 1005 to 1006. Carnival did not know why. But we received $122 OBC and kept our $100 OBC from booking. The $122 was the price difference between the 2 rates.

No money from the casino though. I was hoping it would come with casino money.

keep checking your email. Mine came via an email a few weeks after I booked. But also the cage at casino should have you on a list. Once time I did not get an email and name was not on the list and they took down my information and next day gave me my $75 in free cash, so just make sure you have some documentation you booked casino rate

  4. i wish carnival brought back the certificate program like what they had back in 2010ish and what NCL does

I agree. Sailed NCL for the first time last year and bought the $250 future cruise certificate for $100. Thought it was genius and wondered why Carnival doesn't do the same. They are good for 4 years also. So they have me hooked to go again within that time period. Great marketing.

  5. I purchased without reading the fine print (my bad) and noticed that it takes 10-14 business days. I leave on the Vista on Sunday. Fingers crossed that somehow they arrive earlier. I can't find any numbers to contact them with to see if expediting it is possible. Called Carnival with no luck. Send an email to the daily deals email but got an auto response from someone that will be out of office in "2012." So we will see what happens, if not I might try and sell them. I do not know when my next Carnival cruise will be after this.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Many saying they got their today, including me. Hopefully you did too in time to use Sunday

Since they are e-cards, maybe you can access your email while on your trip via wifi in port or might be worth getting a 24 hour ship wifi pass and print them out. Or might be able to just enter gift card codes in guest services without having to print them. Otherwise Nov 2018 expiration gives you an excuse to book another trip. I have also seen people selling them at a slight discount on ebay. although I wouldn't buy an e-card on ebay. Good luck

  7. Since you only have 2 stops and yes they are not the greatest, I would recommend Paradise Cove in Freeport. You said no snorkeling, but it is a great reef and you could just swim out a short distance and see turtles. Enter right from the shore. There is equipment and kayaks and a little beach. The owner was great and told the kids about how he is working to rebuild the reef there. There is a little restaurant and bar with kid friendly items too. It was a great day and kids and adults loved it. Very laid back. It was only about $20 last year and included transportation from port. If you google paradise cove Freeport you can check it out

  8. Go to Daniel Johnsons. One of the best excursions I've ever been. The communication to set up is a little "loose" as was just a facebook messenger coordination, but it was great. Got a tour of the island and history on way there. Seems like his relatives work for him. It rained all day, and we had the snorkeling also booked. No one else wanted to go, and we ended up having a private 1 hour snorkeling with 2 locals, and then on way back to the ship, the driver (his aunt) dropped us off at a resort to have a monkey lala drink. It was like a personal excursion day for $45 pp. Was able to interact with monkeys and was really fun. Very grateful, nice local people who love their animals. Highly recommend it.

  9. Agree on the PVP. I have an awesome one. Received a casino rate offer but it did not come up for a spa cabin. Gave her a call and she added it to that grade of cabins. She has done refunds and re-deposits so I could get the AMX $100 offer. And moved cabins many times. Yes, I will look online for rates and availability first, but my PVP has come through for those over and above items. And I figure it's keeping someone employed with computers taking over so many jobs these days.

  10. Nice video. I saw you have those new full face snorkel masks. What do you think of them? Are they worth it?

We have those masks also. They are great. My husband would especially have issues with regular masks with a goatee and the mask would not seal on his face and would get so much water in his mask. They are great. There are a wide range of prices. Got ours on Amazon middle of the road prices of about $75. Well worth the investment

  11. How long after you made the deposit were you able to get them to credit back so you could re-pay? I made my deposit a month ago :-(

I made deposit about a month ago but it doesn't matter as they credited it and re-charged the deposit on my card. I was going to make another payment on it also if it came to that as someone here suggested. And yes, if you can get offer on each card and charge each card you would get $100 off on each.

  12. There are some other threads about this I saw and went to the link. I scrolled through my AMX Offers and didn't have it. I chatted with customer service and they said it was a solcited offer. I had already booked a carnival cruise and made a deposit. The offer showed up while chatting with customer service. They said wouldn't work with deposit already made as offer was not activated when deposit made. I made my reservation through my carnival pvp, called her and she credited my amx card then ran deposit again. This was Friday and I saw my $100 credit on my amx app today. Go for it. If you don't have offer call or chat with amx to get it. It worked.

  13. 4 Carnival cruises and we missed a port on 2 of them.

Sunshine... missed Grand Turk, huge disappointment. There was a medical emergency after we left Bahamas and we had to go back

Glory... missed Rotan due to high winds

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Interesting as doesn't the port pilot get on and dock the ship and take it out not the captain?

  14. I will see what Spa Specials are in my FunTimes and post later.

Oh and I was able to exchange my visor for a Tervis Tumbler. Yes!!!!!

Enjoying your review as I am hankering to get there. I'm on the Glory next week on Western Itinerary. I too am platinum and heard and saw pictures of the horrible croc visor. How were you able to exchange for a tumbler? those have been the best gifts in a while? Did you just go to guest services? Thanks. and keep her nice for us next week. Enjoy rest of cruise. that is a great itinerary. Enjoy San Juan today.

  15. Definitely worth the little extra from interior room and better than a porthole. I try to get these rooms all the time. The window is same size as ocean view and have been on ones in the front that have 2 windows. People are rarely on the front deck and it's almost like your own private deck at the front. During the day you cannot see in unless you put your face up the window. At night, yes probably need to close the drapes as people can be on the deck outside. A hidden gem. On Sunshine we had one on the side where the lifeboats are, but if you choose carefully at the front there are no lifeboats obstructing your view and you can see out. Might be people walking by or maintenance workers painting but that's it. Highly recommend.
