It should be at the very end of the booking just before you enter credit card information.  Refundable deposit is an option on most bookings.

I just went  through and didn’t see it either.  I checked on cruising power and the price is the same for both refundable and non refundable, perhaps that is why it is not showing up.

refundable / non refundable is never based on certain cabins.

Is there a way to get it verified as a refundable fare is it's priced the same for both? Should we call?

Yep, 23 to 25 hours.  We leave at 3 in the afternoon and arrive the day before and grab a hotel for the night.  Sleep really well and the morning of the cruise is just like a normal day.

Flights are a killer at Christmas and March break.  I’d rather drive and cruise twice a year.

Do you drive straight through? I have to take 2 days. Daytona Beach is 20 hrs for us.

  3. Thanks for the replies. The FCC makes sense. I'd be happy to do that. We are still going back and forth on this one. We had the ocean view room on Empress with the little extra room that everyone wants when they book Empress. Because of that on Allure they let us book the Ocean View room at the front with the slanted window. Love those rooms. The price we paid is $1600C for 8 nights which is a great price so I hate to give it up but I also hate all the extra charges and the issues with flying - parking in TO, baggage fees, transport to and from the hotel to the cruise port etc. All those moving parts are so much easier when you drive IMO.

  4. Hello,

We had a cruise booked on Empress for February of 2021. We were allowed to lift and shift this cruise to Allure in February of 2022. In the past we have driven to NJ and sailed on Anthem however we thought it was time to try something different even if it meant flying to Florida thus the original booking on Empress. Now with Covid we have missed 2 cruises that would have been on Anthem out of NJ so I'm no longer tired of that itinerary - I just want to get back on a ship. After starting to look at organizing flights and lodging from Toronto to FL I'm thinking I rather move the cruise from Allure to Anthem so I can drive. Will RC  let us transfer our deposit to this new booking? The price on the original Empress cruise was extremely low so RC will actually get a larger cruise fare if they let us do this. I understand that we can cancel the Allure cruise under the cruise with confidence program however we would have to wait for the deposit return before rebooking. I just think it would be simpler if RC allows us to move to the Anthem cruise. Thoughts? Thanks.

  5. Hi,

I've had the month of November open up for me so I am thinking about booking a cruise on Anthem. Prices are low in November but it still would be an "extra" cruise so we are thinking about trying a virtual balcony. There are  only 2 interior categories that I see on a test booking. With and without  connecting.  Do all of the interior rooms on Anthem have virtual balconies? If that is the case maybe I'll let them pick. It's even cheaper and if it's a VB I don't really care where it's located. Thanks.

  6. Before the cruise shut-downs on Sunday's my wife and I would sit in our sun room and look out over our snowy southern Ontario yard and watch the cruises leave on the PTZ camera's and at the same time we would have "Billy" on Periscope who would be in Fort Lauderdale covering the departures. Between 4 and 5 pm we would see many ships from many different ports sail past. Really an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours on a winter afternoon.  Anyone else do something like this? My wife would look at the various screens we would have going and suggest "we might have a cruise problem". We always had a cruise booked in late February and we sometimes would see "our" ship leaving prior to us being on it. We still look in on the ships now but of course no movement and no Billy on Periscope.  Wonder what Billy is doing these days. We are looking forward to the day we will start to see the ships moving again. Stay well, James.

  7. As an update my wife phoned RC today to ask about Lifting our May 8'th cruise on Indy to the April 30 cruise on Explorer in 2022. I decided that I can make that date even though it will be close. The RC agent indicated that this cruise wasn't eligible for a Lift because it had already been Lifted once?? He would not do anything else even though we told him that our account showed that the cruise is eligible for a Lift to that date in April. We ended the call and did the Lift ourselves and now are waiting for the confirmation email which can take up to 72 hrs. Thinking about it after I remembered that when we originally booked this cruise it was on Brilliance and then RC moved it to Indy. Perhaps the agent saw that change and thought it had been Lifted. If RC rejects our request I guess I'll be phone them again but hopefully we'll get the Lift approved.

  8. We have an 8 night cruise on Indy which leaves Miami on May 8, 2021. We booked this cruise last June at a great rate on Brilliance.  RC moved it to Indy which was fine with us. I doubt if this cruise will go so I started looking at L&S options. I soon discovered that since L&S ends on April 30, 2022 my only cruise options all  leave in April 2022 which I can't make because of work. There is a cruise in May on Explorer that is the same as the offering in April. Has anyone tried to call and see if they will allow a L&S into the second month since the cruise is eligible for a partial  L&S? I know it's probably a no but the May cruise is actually cheaper than the one in April so it would be a better move for RC as well.

If RC cancels this cruise I assume my option would be 125% FCC to be applied to a totally different cruise?  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks
