Genting Dream detained by Chinese authorities in straits between Hainan Island and Mainland China for about 12 hours. I suspect it is for illegal gambling. When I was on the Virgo I just could not believe what I saw. It was on the same route as the Dream now and the casino was wide open while sailing through the Chinese waters.

Can't seem to get the link working. They offered me 5N cruise instead of 7N cruise. Do tell more about your experience.

In view of this change, Dream Cruises will offer the following options for all affected passengers:
Transfer Option
Affected passengers may choose to transfer to any new Genting Dream itinerary regardless of their original booking.
If the stipulated cruise fare and port charges for the new cruise booking is lower than the original cruise booking, the price difference will be refunded to the passenger accordingly. Conversely, if the stipulated cruise fare and port charges for the new booking is higher than the original booking, the passenger will be requested to top up the price difference.
Passengers opting to transfer their cruise will be entitled to an additional Onboard Credit of RMB200 per cabin per night.
Full Refund
Passengers who do not wish to take up the above cruise transfer option may opt for full refund of the paid cruise fares.
Please contact your original travel office or agency for further details and to arrange your choice of option.
Dream Cruises strives to ensure the best cruise experience for our guests and would like to apologize for any inconvenience this change of schedule has caused.

Have you seen anything like this. 2 weeks before the start of their cruising life and they have invalidated/cancelled all their booked cruises.
I book directly with them and did not receive an email notification and only found out about this by accident while surfing the internet.

You are right.
It depends whether you are heavy on ship board expanses or the casino. If heavy on the casino then change to HKD. If no casino then change to RMB. If light on ship board expanses the just pay in HKD or USD or SGD at the reception. They will convert it to RMB without you handling any change.

What I want to know is, Are you a regular on the Gemini here in SG like me. I have earn enough points in the casino on the Gemini to get a free 7N cruise HK to HK on Genting Dream.
No 3 free nights cannot be used for the SG sailing.

I notice there are a couple of Singapore residents here.
The week-end cruise here in Singapore is so cheap. Inside S$561, Window $659 and Balcony $771. Cheaper then SS Gemini.
I am a regular on the Gemini and have been given 3 free nights on the Genting Dream. Working to get up for the 7 night cruise from HK next year.

Yes I was looking at the same marine traffic map. Cannot believe they would keep on doing the same wrong think. I have my dream cruise book for Feb. 2017 and hope they don't make any schedule changes again as I have my air ticket book now.
They change schedule for the Virgo a few days ago on the Nov. 21. Now it is 4 and 5 days cruises for Jan. to Mar. 2017 from Shenzhen. Not going to get the local on the ship like that. I think they could change the schedule again as it wouldn't sell. Maybe even pulling the ship out of China and maybe back to Singapore.
How about the second Dream ship coming next year. What are they going to do with it.
