WOW .... I guess I need to respond !!
2 months ago,I was on Silhouette ,first time on celebrity, but had smoked cigars on other ships ,some had "cigar lounges",and others having "smoking" areas. I asked about smoking areas (NOT cigar smoking in particular) from one the bars on silhouette, then joined other smokers, majority cigarette smokers, but 1-3 cigar smokers. Most often my smoking was on DECK12,away from pool. There were always non-smoking people keeping their friends company. At no time I heard anybody complain about cigar smoking. And no celebrity person objected. Until this thread did not know there was separation.
Please do NOT condemn people without knowing facts....Also I hope most of you open your minds more ,if they are not...I know I did as I got older...
I will repeat one "fact",OUTDOOR smoke from cigar or cigarettes are NOT different!!
-
bigbeergut :
smoking on Celebrity ships allowed only in OUTDOOR areas, and cigar smoke is "smoke",same as cigarettes..

Glen and Tommy
15 th deck,if weather calm,is FANTASTIC for having a cigar...have fun, maybe we will meet up on a future cruise.
Glen,no problem with bringing cigar on board, ports had cigars, but unreasonably expensive (according to a fellow smoker)
-
Glen No cigar lounge on silhouette,
I smoked cigars at all "smoking" areas of Silhouette, just 2 months ago,and I was not the only one.
You can buy cigars on ship, but selection was limited, better take your own.

I am a wine drinker, almost exclusively red wines. Was on SIlouhette earlier this summer with premium package and could not find a decent cabernet on the list (or other red variety I looked for).Fortunately was able to get better quality wine at Michael's club...by request.

think it is $30-$35 per person as guest in luminae?
-
No dress code as such, just use common sense!
By the way,we preferred specialty restaurants to Luminae, which I feel has room for improvement, specially more variety (selections) However Service at Luminae is very good.

RS perks include SUSHI on 5,just did it last month, and enjoyed SUSHI on 5 several tims....unlimited!!

I called ,asked about Caribbean cruises,NO discount on SUITE deposits...so no good !!!

Hi emileg
I am considered somewhat of a wine "expert" by others,so here is my observation :
Before start of cruise I inquired about wines available at Michael Club, and I was told it would be like wines on "premium package",which I had already looked up,and was not pleased. Since my alcohol drinking is 95% wine,I expressed my concern to MC CONCIERGE on LAND,and she passed the word to her counterpart ,and they provided "better' wine .
This experience and "absolutely magnificent" service/attention by concierge (Anca),has sold me as a definte future "cruiser" with celebrity.

This thread is no longer about Michael Club????

to Seagoing mom ;
don't give up on S-class,we just were on Silhouette, and I smoke 2 cigars a day,if possible!! They had very nice accomodations including chairs to sit on,tables and ash trays in several parts of ship....My first cruise with Celebrity and liked it a lot more than HAL (FOOD,SERVICE,and, Michael's club)
-
we just came back from RS stay in Silouhett, and also tipped the Bultler exra at the end.
curious Chicogirl, hope you don't mind: since you said you also tipped the concierge, was it same scale as your butler, more, less? I had a dilemma with that!!
-
luminae ,if you have suite accommodation.
-
Thanks for the review.
Glad you mentioned Anca....she is the best!! We were on your ship, cruise before you and she was absolutely fantastic.
-
Hi Jim
I had couple of conversations with Anca about her time off,my conclusion is that November would be the earliest she would be back,am fairly certain she will not be back in October(someone else asked).

thanks Mary LOU
definitely agree tipping appropriate only for good service...
Hoping to get more replies, and even if it is "range",mentioning amounts..!!
Also, what about tipping other employees, specially bar tenders?
Again thanks in advance

I would like to ask a rather personal ,possibly "forward" question: those of you who use Michael's club(suite dwellers),what is your habit of tipping in Michael's? I hope I get response, even if it is "range"...applying to different employees you tip.
thanks in advance.

Just finished a cruise (Baltic/Russia) on Silouhette with Anca...She was the highlight of our cruise ;this was our first cruise with Celbrity(10 cruises before that),and I was completely fascinated/impressed with her.I felt she treated everybody like THEY are special.I just hope that other ship's Michael club concierges approach her quality!!

Went to Sushi 5 at least 4 times with my wife on recent cruise(Baltic/Russia,our first cruise with celebrity),and really enjoyed it..quality of Sushi was best I have had
