  1. I would not anticipate that there would be taxi at FSC looking for a fare; but you may luck out that a taxi brings people looking to tour FSC, and the taxi is looking for a fare. Or have the ticket booth at FSC summon a taxi for you; or go to Blackbeard's Hideout ask them to summon a taxi for you and have a drink while waiting :D.

    Many thanks!!

  2. There's no name for the shuttle from the port to EWR, nor do you book anything in advance. You'll find the staging area after you walk out of the cruise terminal. There's a dispatcher supervising the shuttle process.

Would you recommend the shuttle over an uber? How much is the shuttle? It's only my aunt leaving for EWR, as the rest of us live in NJ. However, the 3 of us were planning on travelling with her to the airport to see her off.

  3. Recent reports on TripAdvisor indicate the interior is currently closed. My experience is that has been the case most of the time over the last decade or so.

So, a couple of minutes for pictures will be it.

Dang! Bermuda is bumming me out so far! First I can't swim in caves at Tom Moore's and now the church is closed. Pbbbt! I think having the taxi wait will be the best idea. Thanks everyone

  4. Hey all.. I'm trying to find the best way to hit all the spots I want to in St. George (St. Peters, Unfinished Church, Fort St. Catherine, Gates Bay, and Tobacco Bay). I would normally just walk it, but I'll be travelling with my aunt who is recovering from a surgery and probably couldn't handle all that.

I read some negative things about the hop on hop off shuttle. Can anyone direct me to an official bus schedule/stop map? Thanks!

  5. I was wondering the same!! Checking weather for NJ and Bermuda, the temperature seems to be almost the same. I'm also leaving for Bermuda 5/28 (X Summit).

As far as footwear, I would say just wear whatever is comfortable and take into account what activities you'll be doing. Sandals would probably be better for a day at the beach, but if you're walking the railway trail you might want to go with sneakers. Never been to Bermuda... just speculation and past vacay experience.

  6. Another uber update. Did self disembark off Anthem this am (Thursday am). Uber picked us up at 7:51 (prob a 15 minute wait for him to get to the port) and dropped us at 8:13 at Newark, Terminal C. $26.66.

We had only 2 people and one bag each (plus backpack) and it was a Chevrolet Suburban. We just requested regular uber

Was highly impressed with entire uber experience in NJ. I jumped on Amtrak at 10 and my DH has a flight at 12:30.

This is comforting to hear.. I booked a flight for my aunt back home (from Newark) at 12:45. I was planning on using Uber and had been told that was enough time. I promised her I wouldn't let her miss her flight lol

  7. Hey guys, so on my celebrity reservation page online, there is a link called "immigration documents" where you can enter in information from your passport, birth certificate, etc.. Is this something I have to do before boarding? I guess my question is...what all do I have to make sure I do before I leave for port? (besides print luggage tags)

    Thanks :)

  8. I'm gonna piggyback on this and add...

Does celebrity allow you to bring on sodas and beverages? I was reading about room service and saw that the drinks you may order from RS are not included in the bev package. >:( Sooo..If I want a v8 with my breaky but I don't want to leave my room (hence roomservice) ..can I bring a pack of v8?

I heard you can slap a luggage tag on a case of beverages and it will be delivered to your room, but I may consider another smaller (heavy) "beverage bag" lol

  9. I am a first time cruiser, taking the Summit from NJ to Bermuda late this May. I am 32, fiance is 35. While I am a social person, I don't necessarily need to find others to have fun. I will most definitely start a thread here about my experience when I return :) Probably accompanied by a video, because that is my preferred way to summarize my vacations. :D

Anyone interested in seeing my "land" vacations can head on over https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCswLD-ZUI2Eq0Wt4oue86Uw/videos?view=0&shelf_id=0&sort=dd

  10. :p

So, I'm coming in on the Celeb Summit at the end of May. Here is my super low-key itinerary for our 3 day stint in Bermuda:

WEDNESDAY: ferry to Hamilton, explore the town, eat lunch (TBD). bus # 4 or taxi to Admiralty House Park for swimming & cliff jumping. harbor nights??

THURSDAY: ferry to St. George, explore town, eat lunch (TBD) [unfinished church, fort st. catherine] walk or shuttle to Tobacco Bay for some snorkeling & swimming. ferry back to dockyard for something to eat on the ship.. explore dockyard & shops, depending on time

FRIDAY: taxi or bus early A.M. to spend the morning on either West Whale Bay beach or the Horseshoe Bay string of beaches. Get back to ship in early afternoon for 4pm departure

Trying to keep it simple so as not to stress out. It will be myself, my fiance, my mom and aunt. Mom & Aunt are in their upper 50s. Fiance and I are 30 somethings. Harbor nights is a question mark because I had read on bernews or somewhere similar that they will not be held on May 24 & 31. Besides, I hear it's your run of the mill street fair anyhow. Mom just wanted to see a bit of "culture" (me too).

So..Looking for lunch suggestions at both Hamilton & St. George. Any other pointers definitely welcome. I was REALLY looking forward to checking out Tom Moore's Jungle but I hear that exploring it is frowned upon now. I was also interested in seeing a little of the railway trail. Can I get to that from anywhere on my itinerary?

  11. Going on my first ever cruise this May and I am completely lost on this whole on board credit thing. Can someone explain? Am I providing a credit card at the beginning for any purchases that either me or my fiance make during the cruise? I am treating my mom & Aunt who will be staying in a different cabin. Can I use my credit card for them too? I need a crash course :P
