  1. Looking to do some cliff jumping here. What's the best way to get to this place? Any tips? Looks like it's in close proximity to Hamilton, so hopefully I can tie this in to a day or half day spent in Hamilton. Thanks!

  2. Hope you don't mind me high-jacking the thread a little bit..but I have a similar question.. This will be my first cruise ever, so I'm not elite or diamond anything lmao. Please tell me it's feasible to dock at Cape Liberty at 8am and get to EWR in time for a domestic flight out at 12:45pm. I figured this would be enough time, but having a confirmation would feel nice :) With that being said..should we opt for "self disembarkation"? What are the differences in the way you exit the ship?

  3. Thanks for the update on how it went! Looking forward to doing some of this when I go in late May. Only other time I did this was in Costa Rica into the pool of a waterfall. Wondering how this one will stack up (higher/lower/etc) I also saw a video of a guy jumping into the blue hole at Tom Moore's jungle..looked like there was a good spot to stand and it was deep enough.

  4. You go through a metal detector scanner, not the full body scanner at airports that sees under your clothes.

Yes, that was the one I was talking about. Judging by the emoji, i'm sure you understand why I don't care for them :D Thanks everyone

  5. Hey all.. I'll be sailing the Summit out of Bayonne this May. What is the process for boarding? Am I gonna have to go through one of those body scanners like at the airport? (I hate those things) Also, I was considering starting my vacation the second I board by wearing my swimsuit underneath my clothes :) What time does the pool open? I'm hoping to make a a beeline straight for the pool/hot tub and therefore get some quality time in without the crowd. (Or do other people do the same?) Thanks!

  6. So I was set to help my mom, who doesn't have a passport, get one for our bermuda cruise. She's telling me that she saw information online that only a passport card would be necessary for travelers on cruises to bermuda. Is this true? That would be great, because she claims she has no interest in international travel (wants to see the whole USA first) and the card is cheaper! :) Thanks

  7. Is there a change in price for the packages (either positively or negatively) if you wait until you are onboard to purchase/upgrade? Thinking of just booking a non-alcohol bev package in advance and seeing if a package for booze would even be worth it. I think i'll definitely take advantage of the 2 bottle wine per room offer, too. Quick question: does that go in your carry on or checked?

  8. I'm coming in on the Summit, leaving May 28th ... what kind of effect will the America's Cup have on my vacation? :\ Worried it's going to be a swarm of people. I know nothing about the cup .. is it only on a certain part of the island?

  9. On my last cruise this past August I had to go to about 5 bartenders before one knew how to make me a Paralyzer. And this bartender knew it by a different name.

Just for fun, does anyone else know? And bonus points anyone know what the another name is?

Why not just tell the first bartender how to make it? :???

  10. The resort has been closed for five or so years. Every year it is announced they will reopen the next year. So don't count on it being open in 2017. None of your questions about what will be available when and if they reopen can possibly be answered until the resort reopens if it ever does. As for the train I don't know if they still stop there.

LOL, I see.. Thanks for the reply!

  11. So i'm doing a little but of preliminary planning for my late may cruise to Bermuda. Daniel's Head beach sounded really great for it's supposed seclusion and for it's proximity to the dockyard. I read a comment on bermuda-attractions.com that the facilities once mentioned are no longer offered due to the 9 beaches resort undergoing renovations. Also, that the beach was not very clean. :\ The 9 beaches resorts website says that they are looking to reopen in 2017, so.. Do you think these facilities will be out in full force with the reopening of the resort? Will this beach still be public with the reopening of the resort? Tell me more about this train that runs to the beach as well :) Thanks in advance!

  12. Wow, for a bunch of professional vacation-takers you all are certainly a wound up, surly bunch. Don't like the video or care? Don't comment. I'm sure Capt. Kate is used to the attention as she's somewhat of a celebrity (no pun intended) and I'd be willing to bet many other people have taken photos and videos when they see her.

  13. This is the third review I've read about the celebrity Summit that has been less than stellar and it has me bummed out, lol. I'm going at the end of May 2017, so hopefully the kids will still be in school. I like to swim and I like to hang out in hot tubs. Seeing some images from the ship, with people crowded all around gives me heart palpitations lol. I'm hoping maybe I can time my pool visit right to avoid all that. I'm also not scared to move a magazine if a chair has been empty for more than a half hour. :P

  14. Thanks again for all the helpful replies. So, the seated dining that you all are talking about..that is also included?

I'm really bummed to hear that the water will be so frigid in early may for Bermuda. I was really banking on taking that cruise. I have a lot of thinking to do about whether I want to save airfare and just go Bermuda, hoping we hit a heat wave. Or, just spend the money and fly to Florida. And I really don't want to spend the extra time or money at the port, so I'd be looking to fly in and embark and fly out..not spend any extra days at port.

This is becoming stressful lol wahh

  15. Do you have to go in the end of April? It warms up nicely by the end of May beginning of June. You could sail then from Bayonne to Bermuda.

Yes, need to sail by May 1st. Too soon to make plans for this year, so I was looking at 2017. Probably gonna switch gears and go on a caribbean cruise leaving from Florida.

  16. Yes, the repositioning cruise stops in Bermuda for a couple of days only in late April. I agree, the water at that time is still "George Costanza" cold.

Dang! That's a bummer! But thanks for the info. My free cruise is available to a couple different destinations, so I might have to set my sights on somewhere else. I was just thinking Bermuda since Bayonne is so close to me.
