  1. I have mine from a newspaper clipping from the Baltimore Sun. I will try to scan it if I can find it. Perhaps if your search finds one from the Sun it would be it. It is really yummy and easy.
  2. Good Friday morning! We are heading to a our large county fair this morning. DF was very disappointed in the one we went to last month. I think they had 2000 total attendees. Probably will be 2000 on the fair grounds today. Thank you for the Daily Reports! A moving quote. I used to collect large rocks when we first started going to the cabin in 2007. I had no gardens other than the start of a daylily garden to hold runoff on a hill and some yarrow on another hill. So I decided to build a dry stack stone wall. It kept me busy driving the bumpy logging roads looking for the perfect flat rocks. It still stands but I wished I had gone the extra step and mortared it because ice and frost heave has made it wobbly. I also gathered interesting round rocks that cover the hill in the background. I will pass on the drink and meal but will enjoy the photos of Cape Horn tonight enjoying a class of chardonnay, not today's but similar. We will be there late January/early February. Prayers for all on our care list. @kazuthat is wonderful news from you car dealership covering your repairs on your car! That rarely happens. Have a wonderful day!!
  3. Debbie, congratulations on your home sale. All your hard work paid off. @Quartzsite Cruiser I love King Ranch Chicken and I haven't made it in a long time. We have so much excess Costco canned white meat chicken it may be in order soon.
  4. I do too. We had them for dinner last night but those flautas had me thinking Mexican big time tonight. Maybe I will swing through Taco Bell on the way home. 🀠
  5. @smitty34877I feel for you with the burdens you are carrying. Being a fulltime caregiver is difficult and should be recognized everyday. πŸ™ @dfishGood luck with the offers today. Your flauta photos make me want to go for Mexican tonight but I have a field trip and meeting with my garden club, sadly my dinner will be sloppy joes. Thank you for the Daily Reports. The cocktail, the flautas and the SB wine are all winners. I can follow where the Volendam is. We are about 100 days away from boarding her for 81 days! Prayers for all on our care list and those that need them. @kazuI wish you could get a little break, hopefully the car repair will be simple. Have a wonderful Thursday!!
  6. Great news Debbie! Now lets hope some higher ones come in! Thanks you for the Daily Reports. We are heading to Baltimore at the end of the month and I will probably have crab every lunch and dinner because I miss is so much. Costco had gotten some Chicken of the Sea pasteurized around the holidays and I was surprised how good it was, I hope they carry this again. Creme filled were a special treat for me on the N Statendam. I usually never eat sweets but they were so beautiful sitting in the case in CO I had them a couple times. The pastry and bread on the NS were excellent. All comestibles look great! Thank you for the photos of Cambodia. Prayers for all on our care list and for continued success for the Ukrainian war effort! Have a wonderful day!!!
  7. Good morning! Another day of catch up. September taxes, absentee ballot application and potting up all the bare root plants that I brought home from the cabin. We will have a beautiful day for it. @Cruzin Terri, Terri I hope there are no further surprises in your home today and they can get things repaired quickly. @dfishI hope that you get an offer on your Cleveland home soon. I have never been to Midland but I think they have a beautiful botanical garden there. Rich, thank you for the Daily Reports. @rafinmd Thank you for keeping us apprised of everything that is happening. Prayers for those on your list and for those needing them. Continued prayers for success in Ukraine. Debbie, thank you for finding those tasty recipes, they got better and better as I scrolled down. I love the pot stickers. The drink looks tasty too if made with Diet Ginger Ale, as does the chardonnay. We have never been to today's port so look forward to seeing the photos. Have a wonderful day!
  8. Finally after months I can read posts from later in the day. Thank you for the photos of Bangkok! We are almost caught up after 4 months gone. Happy surprise that the paperwork for our Grand South America was on the front porch yesterday. More to work on going forward. So nice to find out what is happening in everyone's lives! As promised photos from my plant load on Saturday to unload today.
  9. Happy Monday! Well we made it. We left Michigan's UP at 8:11 Eastern and made it home by 5:45. Just in time for the second half of DF's favorite Minnesota Vikings where they beat the Packers. I had to follow my Ravens game by following plays on my phone. I loaded the plants just as the 2" of rain on Saturday winded down and all fit. I will send some pics from my phone. All are unloaded as is the whole truck. I have to go pick up the mail and get some vegetables etc. No laundry, when we leave the cabin we leave in in the hamper and do it when we return. @kazuAll your hard work paid off your remembrance celebration for Jose was beautiful. It looked like a wonderful tribute! @marshhawk Have a wonderful cruise. Thank you for the Daily Reports! Prayers for all on our care list and for continued success in the battles in Eastern Ukraine. I will check in later. Have a wonderful day!
  10. Today is a busy day covering all furniture and draining my rain barrels, all while trying to load the truck dodging raindrops. Have a wonderful day!
  11. RIP Queen Elizabeth. It is going to take some time passing for it to sink in for me. @marshhawk Happy Anniversary! 🍾I am sure you are getting excited about your cruise. Another day working towards shut down. We have some iffy weather coming in so I will be dodging raindrops to do the final load of the truck tomorrow. My sister will be over for another rib roast out of the freezer. I brought so much party food and then we had a summer with few neighbors up here. All say they will be up here much more next summer. Prayers for all on our Care list and for the people of Ukraine πŸ™. Thank you for the Daily Reports @richwmn. No more hummingbirds and subtle color changes in the Maple leaves. A golden morning today, last good one before we leave. All my plants ready to ride home in my truck and in my sister's. Have a wonderful Friday!
  12. Three days before we begin our 9 hour drive home. Lots to do here with good, although warm weather. Thanks for the Daily Reports. All look great especially that Cruzan Colada. Prayers for the Queen. She has been on the throne my entire life. πŸ™ Prayers for all on our Care list.
  13. A warmer start today, a balmy 54. I can get outside to work much earlier today. More weeding. I started to load the pickup and staged all the plants to bring home. I hope my sister has space for those I allotted to her of they will be stacked three deep. I drove through the woods to gather fallen maple branches to use for kindling for spring fires. I have done about everything for our trip home at this point. It is going to be a beautiful mid 70s day with low humidity. Dinner at our neighbor's house today with all my favorite people at the lake, other than my 96 year old friend who isn't coming here anymore. Thanks for the Daily Reports. I will pass on the cocktail and food but the Schlink Riesling should be a winner. I love the Space Coast, we almost moved there in another life. I have never been to Port Canaveral. Prayers for all on our Care list and for the people of Ukraine. A baby snapping turtle that hatched last year today. The nest was in gravel along our sidewalk. They have moved on to our neighbors with a less steep climb to find nesting areas.
  14. A chilly 44 degrees today. A change of pace my sister is coming up to the lake today with her daughter and boyfriend. She will stay with us for a few nights to allow the young people to have fun at her cabin, more due up later this week. We winched in the dock yesterday. That is behind us. I dug several Daylilies for our plant sale. To save space they are riding home bare root. Today a Peony and a few more Daylilies. I still have some in bloom and I heard a hummingbird. No color change yet. Thanks for the Daily Reports. All look great! @StLouisCruisersthank you for the photos of the Isle of Skye. Prayers for all on our Care list. Much to do in the coming days before returning home on Sunday. Have a great day,!
  15. Happy Labor Day! I am sitting in my chilly hotspot 41 degrees outside but toasty in the truck with heated seats going too. I will continue weeding when it warms up. Our neighbors are up here and several families will be getting together at our nearby neighbors on Wednesday. Thanks for the Daily Reports! I look forward to the Belem port photos. We will be there in March 2023. Glad to hear the Volendam is leaving her service in the Netherlands but praying for the families losing their home on this ship. I understand new TVs are being installed on the Zaandam I hope they are happening on the Volendam too. We use our TV for menu, ship's location and port previews. Fingers crossed. The drink is a pass, the chili Verde minus cilantro would be good and the wine looks like it will be a good one. Prayers for all on the care list and for the people of Ukraine. Have a great day!
  16. Brrrr. It is 43 degrees and 65 degrees in the cabin. It is a beautiful day though. Strange that there is no hint of color in the maples. Usually there are little brushes of color but none really evident. I still had a couple of hummingbirds yesterday, a strange year. @StLouisCruisersthank you for the photos of DDs lovely autumn tree and her cute pup. A day of yard work but I think I will start consolidating things to bring home while I wait for the chill to die off. We have decided to leave a day early so we can meet with people who can open and clean the cabin before we arrive. It will be a luxury to come into a cabin with the propane refrigerator running and the flies vacuumed up. Thank you for the Daily Reports. I hope to see pictures of a port I have never heard of. I would love a rum runner, the wine looks like a good one but I am guessing it is pricey. Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. Have a wonderful Sunday!
  17. A chilly Saturday. 55 degrees with 10 mph winds after a day in the 80s yesterday. Plants all cut back and hauled away. Today is a deep cabin cleaning while we wait for it to warm up and for the Artemis launch potential 1:20 Central Time. I always loved the Saturn rocket launches for Apollo never thought we would see the likes of those again. @kazuthanks for the Canada Goose memes. Every few years a flock lands on our lake but with the shore mainly woods they leave. One year a gaggle tried to take over our lawn. I took care of it. I scared them off but they returned. I set up bottle rockets in angled wine bottles and when they returned I launched them over their heads. They never returned. The brisket was much better in sandwiches. Prayers for all on our prayer list and the prayers for the people of Ukraine. Thank you for the Daily Reports! One of my summer projects is potting up excess plants to bring home. Here are the bulk of them by the driveway ready to be loaded when we return home. Have a wonderful weekend!
  18. Happy Friday! @Quartzsite CruiserHappy anniversary. Thanks for the Daily Reports! I will pass on eel and wine. Another port I have been to. We were on Konigsdam Iberian Adventure and it was September 2018. Beautiful weather and we walked through the city to find a childhood home of Picasso. It was a small museum. It was a beautiful city to walk through and easy to navigate. No pics, they are on my laptop. Prayers for all on our Care list. Today is trying to wrap up the plant cut back. I am afraid it will be another additional day due to it getting into the high 80s today. I smoked a half brisket. It was the flat end and it was tough and took 8.5 hours to make 190 degrees. Many sandwiches in my future, John doesn't care for it. Have a great weekend!
  19. @Cruzin Terri Happy birthday! πŸΎπŸŽ‚ Thank you for the Daily Reports. I will pass on the cabbage. Looking forward to photos of the port in Brazil. I think it is on our itinerary for March 2023. Prayers for all on the care list and thanks Roy for compiling this. I am sitting in my wifi hotspot, my truck, with the heat on. 53 degrees but heading into the 80s. I will get an early start on the plant cut back. Yesterday DF cut back a hillside of 47 daylilies. I will rake them and John will haul them into the woods. Two gardens to go and it will be done. Have a wonderful day!
  20. Happy Hump Day! Thank you for the Daily Reports Rich. @StLouisCruisersthanks for the photos of Manta. We will be stopping there in January 2023. The soup looks all look wonderful! I think the wine may be okay too. Pass on the drink in advance. If the wind isn't blowing 20+ mph as it did yesterday it will be warm enough to eat on our porch. Pulled pork nachos tonight, working on emptying the freezer and the pantry and use the salsa we made from excess tomatoes. Prayers for all on @rafinmd care list, thank you for noting all going on. Prayers for all on our Care list. Prayers for the people of Ukraine and Micael Gorbachov who helped free a lot of countries from Soviet oppression. πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ A day of cutting back plants, some are so fragrant. I have so many catmint and artemesia they waft into the open windows at night. Have a great day!
  21. Good morning. We were supposed to have sun and wind today. We have wind and misty rain. I am hoping it clears as plant cut back in earnest begins today. John uses his gas powered landscape tool and can cut back stuff quickly. Then it is a lot of raking for me. We put a big tarp down and I dump the plant material on it and he drags it way into the woods with his Kawasaki Mule. It will begin to get busy up here as everyone arrives for Labor Day. Thank you for the Daily Reports Rich. Pasta looks wonderful but the cocktail and wine are probably too sweet for me. We were in Bridgetown in March on the Nieuw Statendam. I will see if I have any pics on my phone. Most pics of food. Prayers for all in our group that needs them and for the people of Ukraine.
  22. Good Monday morning! We are heading to town soon. Last trip for the season I hope. 68 degrees and about 98 % humidity. A good day for town. I still have hummingbirds I think the latest they have ever stayed. We have no bats here any longer due to the white nose disease. I think soon some of the remnant will reproduce enough to find the cabin again. They figured out how to get under our metal soffit and we could hear them skittering around in there during the day. The dragonflies try to put a dent in the mosquitoes. Thanks for the Daily Reports @richwmnand @rafinmd. Prayers for all needing them and the people of Ukraine. Have a great day. I still have some Daylilies blooming.
