  1. I live in Maritimes and second what the others have said. On the coast (and the water) it will be 5-10 degrees cooler than inland. If you dock in Saint John, NB it is usually foggy in the morning. The leaves do not turn until October (mid, usually). Depending on the severity of the hurricane season we can get walloped with a nice Nor'Easter. They usually follow right up the seabord. So expect really cool nights (10ish), warm days without humidity (20 degrees or so), but lots of humidity, rain and wind if there's a Nor'Easter a 'bruin :D. There is the odd really hot day (25-28) but without humidity it's really nice. My favorite time of the year! HTH

  2. Just off the Escape last week. I was astounded at the crowding on the pool decks. The pools are unbelievably small for a ship with over 3,000 passengers. The sun decks so crowded with deck loungers in every nook and cranny that you can't walk through them without stepping aside for people to pass. There's no "olympic" sized sprint pool that I'm aware of..not sure where you heard that.[/quote. I was referring to the running of the bulls marathon to get vibe passes once onboard. I have only read about it, never witnessed. The reviews i have read all describe the same camotion though! Worth it? Only if theres a pool in there i guess!
  3. Grumpy and I love our adult pool time. I have been reading about the olympic sprint and extra charge for the vibe area. But what about Spice H2o? That grotto area looks sweet. Do people sit in there? We are not big swimmers, just like hanging at the edge or sitting in a shallow adult kiddie pool. Will spice meet our needs? Tia:D

  4. This is really disconcerting. I literally booked yesterday. I appreciated the ability to bring on canned pop for the access to coke products. This is our first foray off DCL. The base cruise fare is just so high. Kinda glad i havent cancelled my DCL cruise yet though. Really not used to the nickel and diming. It may all equal out, in which case I'll stick with Disney standards. Not happy that central resservations didnt give me any heads up about a possible policy change.

  5. Thanks for your reply. I understand that we will pre-pay our Gratutities for the duration of the cruise . My question is about the 18% charge that applies to drinks that are purchased. My T/A seems to think we won't end up with a bunch of little service charges that are automatically applied everytime hubby gets a beer, since we have the UBP. Can anyone confirm? TIA!

  6. Hey! I was only able to convince Hubby to try Cruising by doing DCL. We are now jumping ship and going to give NCL's Escape a try. I have a few questions, hoping you all will be able to help. I have booked a balcony cabin (cat BF) T/A says it has a sofa bed and Pullman bed along with the "queen" or main bed...is that true? I can't seem to find it online. Also she says the automatic gratuities are included in the beverage package. Just want to be sure. I booked aft on deck 10 - sounds like a good location? Will hubby be pleased if he's comparing to DCL (which I am sure he will, although with all the beer, I am sure he'll be happy) Thanks for all your insight! Cheers:cool:
