  1. It is my understanding (and I may be wrong) but you can use it on any coffee (non-alcoholic), up to 15 cups. For about $31 per person, it would mean about $2+ per purchase, which is about 50% off some of the coffees offered. Royal's wording is a bit misleading, but I think it should cover what you want. Have purchased it for my upcoming cruise in October - maybe someone who has purchased it recently can enlighten us both. FYI - my friend had one on our last cruise that was left over from a previous cruise and she had no trouble using it on her daily cappuciano with an extra shot of espresso

  2. We used QLC Transportation in March - Fort Lauderdale to Miami and then back again after the cruise. They were wonderful. We had 3 couples, each at a different hotel in Fort Lauderdale. They picked us up around 10am and we got to Miami around 11ish. Very professional and great price. I think it was around $20 pp each way.

  3. Down load the Today Tix app - you can get discounted tickets up to 30 days in advance.

I have used it in Boston and New York; my daughter is in London and uses it all the time. They are easy and convenient.

In New York and Boston (not sure about London), the ticket agent meets you in front of the theater.

  4. Just boarded Reflection from terminal 29. They had one line for security but there was an employee directing wheel chair and people with mobility issues to another shorter line. Security took all of 10 minutes, concierge line about 5 minutes, and on board after that.

  5. Reservations are good if you have a specific show/activity you want to do in the evening - you can plan to do dinner before or after such show/activity. That way, you save time waiting in line for a table, which may or may not affect your night. There have been times, even with reservations, that we have waited in a long line to check in. I have found that most people desire to eat somewhere between 6:30 and 7:30 - lines can be big. If you're not in a hurry on a certain night, chill out and eat whenever you want or the line isn't too bad. Enjoy

  6. Ship - Serenade of the Seas

    Deck - 9

    Stateroom # - 9578

    Stateroom Category – D1...."hump" balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – For the most part, yes. But, at night until about 11pm, you could hear everything going on in the Centrum. Doorway to area that overlooks Centrum is right outside stateroom door. Great location for stairs and elevators and to sit and observe Centrum. Not great if you wanted to get to bed early.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great balcony as you could see all the way to the front

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized

Was wind a problem? - no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Shower was horrible - head did not stay in holder and we were told nothing could be done.

Any other comments? - Ship is old and showing it. Hopefully she will get some much needed love. Crew was amazing and we love this class ship - not too big, not too small, just right.

  7. I'm a little technically challenged, so not sure how to post a copy of the restaurant list.

BBQ place is called Ol' Fashioned BBQ - 10 aft. It was open on embarkation at 11:30am until the muster drill. Rest of the days, it was open 12:00pm until 2:30pm, except for La Romana and Aruba, when it stayed open until 3:30pm.

Seafood Corner opened at noon on embarkation, closed at muster, then was open from 4:30pm - 10:00pm. Sea days it was open 11:00am - 9:00pm. Grand Turk: 11:00am-9:00pm; La Romana: 1:00pm-10:00pm; Curacao: 11:00am-2:00pm and 4:00pm-11:30pm; Aruba: 1:00pm-10:00pm.

Ate twice at the BBQ - embarkation and another sea day when the Lido was crazy busy. Did not try the Seafood Corner, but people were going there.

If there is something specific about the restaurants you want to know, just ask

  8. You cannot purchase for only one person, even when you get on board.

I agree with you - just got back from the Conquest and we purchased the Cheers program. Hubby used it more that I did and was able to enjoy. I liked the specialty coffees that were included and I had water/soda at the pool. I do drink - love the Alchemy Bar and was able to enjoy the different drinks there. But I would not do again as I think it is a waste of money, at least for me.

  9. There was a steel drum duo and a solo steel drum player that also played in the casino - he was excellent.

10Jan54 - the Chef's Table was awesome - do not eat anything that day. They did a galley tour with champagne and I think 4 appetizers. Then you watched someone make a small-ish version of the molten lava cake. Then to a private dining room for the rest of the appetizers/main entrees/dessert.

The chef did explain that they will be changing the menu within the next couple of months, but I think you will still get a great meal.

Only down-side of the Chef's table was that we were assigned on Halloween. Walking through the galley, we got to see all the incredible desserts they made for the main dining room that we did not get to eat.

  10. Just submitted my review of our 8 night cruise on the Conquest (over Halloween and my birthday).

If any one has any questions I may be able to answer, just let me know. We did several shows, had the Cheers program, went to the Steakhouse (twice) and the Chef's Table, visited several bars (loved the Alchemy), tried my hand in the casino (at least once a day), had early dinner (6pm) for the first time ever, have all the Fun Times (been 2 years since we were last on Carnival - not impressed with the size of the Fun Times), so anything you want to know, just ask.

She is a very tired ship - while clean, she needs some loving. Décor was nice - loved the paintings throughout. Crew was always pleasant and helpful, but they are all overworked, from our dining room staff (2 people in charge of about 50 people if everyone showed up) to our stateroom attendants, who seemed to always be around. They had so many rooms to care for - never a break.

    Great cruise, as usual.

  11. Thanks for the review. We leave on the 29th - can't wait.

Did you have the drink package? If so, were you happy with your decision?

What day was the chef's table? We have it booked also - have been once before and loved it. What made it a disappointment, other than the chef not being there. What was the menu?

Was the pool crowded early? We tend to get there around 9am but there are always towels on lots of the loungers already. Did you ever have a problem?

Are they still fairly lax on dress code at dinner. Hubby just wants to bring a dress shirt for formal night - no jacket or tie. Think he should be ok?

    Glad you had fun

  12. I believe they leave at either 4:30 or 5:00 pm, depending on the time of the year. Two hour trip. We don't leave until 11pm, so plenty of time. The cost is $49. See their website - bountyadventures.com

  13. Just got a email back from Bounty Adventures. They said they are about a 30 minute ride from the terminal and they charge $9 per person for a pickup. Not sure about way back - will do some research and see if we can get dinner afterwards down by them and then make our way back

  14. Foliage probably won't peak around here until the 2nd week of October. You may have some chance of seeing some further north, but not a lot. Weather will be mid 60s, low 70s during day and 50s at night, maybe cooler. Hardy New Englanders wear shorts in September/October, maybe long sleeves/sweaters at night. Every year is different so you never know. It is beautiful up here - fall is my favorite season. Have a great cruise.

  15. Most foliage will occur in October, unless you go far up in Maine, where you may see some in Sepember. Usually, our peak time is around the 2nd week of October, but weather does change things. As far as clothing and temperature, it can still be warmish during the day (mid 60s, low 70s) and cool at night (50s, sometimes cooler). It probably won't be lounging at the pool weather, but it will be nice enough to stroll around the ports without being too uncomfortable. Hardy New Englanders still wear shorts in September/October, maybe long sleeve shirts/sweaters at night. Hope this helps - enjoy!
