Well I couldn’t say for sure obviously but I had a feeling when they kept looking around a lot at dinner (there were a couple on the next table over at dinner). I couldn’t say for sure and I’m sure nobody minded it!

In answer to your question we see a very mixed bag sailing out of many places including Europe where people are wearing all sorts, but if the cruise sails out of Southampton we see a lot of tuxes, long gowns, cocktail dresses, jackets, ties and not many deviate from that. On our last cruise this year out of Southampton there were a few people who were not so dressed such as wearing slacks and a polo shirt and you could tell they felt pretty uncomfortable and out of place, probably because they didn’t realise how dressed up the cruise would be sailing out of Southampton. I don’t think anyone will care what you wear as long as it is smart, it just depends how much you want to fit in with what everyone else will be wearing.

That may be true when we went there weren’t kids and families on board, maybe that makes a difference.

We didn’t have that, but we would never try and go at lunchtime on a sea day. Perhaps they could do a booking system?

Yes to be honest we like another line better but we really liked that there was this complimentary dining option for lunch, it really made our cruise and is something Princess does that other lines do not do. We didn’t experience the long lines like others have because we went on port days when we got back say mid afternoon. We loved the alternative lunch option, it was great. I know it’s not very expensive but it just feels like they are taking more away from the experience. I’d rather pay more for the cruise in the first place and know that everything’s included.

Is this true that they are now going to charge for Alfredos? This is my favourite thing about Princess, that we could have a sit down complimentary meal as an alternative to the buffet or dining room at lunchtime. It set Princess apart for me from other lines who would definitely charge for this restaurant. It also made up for the fact that the service and food is not as good as other lines in my opinion. I am very unlikely to cruise with Princess again if they take this complimentary dining option away.

Hi we are not big drinkers either. We love the lemonade and fruit punch available around the ship on Celebrity and RCL. Princess however only has this kind of thing available at the buffet along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. They do not have a drinks station for example at their grills and other eateries like you would find on other lines. I have given feedback about this because even with a drinks package it is a bother to get a drink from the bar when all one wants is a quick self serve drink of water when they eat at the grill. I have also said that with the removal of the coffee card, basic filter coffee should be available FOC at the international cafe, but I doubt this will ever happen. We chose to buy the classic soda package on our last cruise because it includes soda but also any type of mocktail. I love virgin strawberry daiquiris so this worked for me. It might be worth looking into? FYI I could get a glass of water at a bar no problem.

I would personally do a balcony for you and your daughter and an inside for your sons (if you can get it across the hall from you that would be even better).
