  1. I never did it but this was the schedule they gave us
  2. Lol. I'm glad I didn't need to claim then as the official reason we were delayed was cause the crew timed out but they timed out *because * of the weather 🤦‍♀️
  3. So, not fully answering your question, but 1. I had a small claim on chase reserve for a delayed flight last year, went fine, they paid quickly 2. I almost missed a cruise cause of flight delays a few weeks ago and was told chase would have likely covered the missed cruise cost, but would not have covered the flights if I wanted to fly and catch up with the cruise at its first port
  4. Very curious what you can find here. I recently had a flight delayed for 19 hours that was supposed to arrive 20 hours before cruise departure, and I found out I would NOT have been covered for the missed cruise. But they might have paid for me to fly and catch up with the cruise in Bermuda. However, my Chase Reserve card included insurance would have covered the missed cruise (but not the flights to catch up). As it was, I made the ship with less than 2 hours to departure but they still let me on.
  5. The afternoon snack at the great outdoors they always had a scone of the day with cream and jam. 2 things: 1. One day they had a "snicker's" scone that was fantastic. 2. A different day they had a savory scone yet still had the cream and jam which was a little odd..
  6. Thank you! That is a super helpful detail!
  7. This is a good point! I do really like that Celebrity has a non alcoholic package, I'll probably get that regardless and need to figure that in
  8. Hi All! Looking at booking my first Celebrity cruise and trying to decide. When looking at fares for a 7 day Caribbean on the Millennium, I'm trying to decide between: Regular balcony, OR Concierge for $84 more, OR Aqua for about $500 more than regular balcony The concierge seems like a no brainer, but is Aqua worth it? (Note in these numbers I've already assumed what the benefits would save me in real cash, ie the tips included in Aqua is a savings for me, but the drink package isn't cause I don't drink) Thanks!
  9. I was On the pearl about 2 weeks ago. There was plenty of entertainment, live music every night in the bars, and the big show in the theater every night, though it was usually just a comedian, vocalist or small show. Nothing that actually sparked my interest enough to see one.. I'm not sure anything ever showed up in advance for me either.
  10. Glad you're home! Hope you get a smoother sail next time!
  11. Agree with this, town starts literally across the street from where the tender dock is and the town is on a slight incline, but should be OK unless you have major mobility challenges
  12. This is from a month or so ago but very similar to the dailies I had last week. Actually, this whole thread is great info https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2855469-live-on-norwegian-pearl-may-27th/?do=findComment&comment=63299680
  13. Yes! I was surprised that what I thought was a pretty manageable dress code made for such a difference in the crowds for the 2 restaurants.
  14. I had time to spend in Boston this week and used https://usebounce.com/ to find a place to store my luggage, took an uber there (it was a shoe repair store), walked around Boston for a few hours, got my luggage and then walked to South Station to get the airport bus. Worked great!
  15. I thought the Pearl was great! Though it was my first time on NCL, I'm not sure what to compare it to, but it was a beautiful ship, I thought the food in the MDR was great and Was shocked how empty the summer palace usually was, given that the food was so good and it's such a pretty room. Pool was crowded, but you'd expect that these days. My biggest issue was the hot tubs in the thermal spa area that I'd pay extra to be at, were broken half the time. As boarding, um, well I had major flight issues and got to the port at 2:15. (4:00 departure), so I didn't have a normal boarding experience. My flight adventure: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2860045-help-canceled-flights-means-i-might-miss-cruise/
  16. I was there this week and there was a very noticeable difference in the Dockyard area when there was one ship in vs 2, but rest of the island didn't notice a difference.
  17. So on the Pearl right now, it only kept going up. I bought it at $139 (7 day trip), then I saw it listed at $199 and on board it was $226. However, as I mentioned in a separate thread, the hot tubs and thermal pool have been down for more than half the cruise, but that's a separate issue. ..
  18. Bar Harbor: if you just want to look around the little town and explore, that's super easy to do, the tender drops you right there and the town is really only like 7 blocks long and 2 blocks wide. However, if you wanted to see Acadia national park, I think that would be hard to do without an organized tour.
  19. I'm on the Pearl right now and really loved the thermal suite.... when I was able to use it. I used it on Day 1, Day 2 was a rough sea day so I didn't even check, Day 3 the hot tubs and thermal pool were down for maintenance, Day 4 I used it, Days 5, 6 and 7 they were down for maintenance again. Is this normal? Anyone had any luck getting a refund in this situation?
  20. Bar Harbor: customs was super smooth. Starting calling A little before 10, the order of the groups was the order of your muster area, A to H. However then something went wrong after the 1st set of tenders and there was a huge bottle neck before the 2nd set could go, or so it seemed. Took me an hour from waiting in line to getting ashore. Almost missed my shore excursion. (They told us to allow 45 minutes, it took an hour+) .
  21. It seems like it. Except the first night might have been one only but I have yet to see any of them. Tonight is a vocalist
  22. Haha well. If you see my other thread, I had major flight issues and got to the port at 2:15. (4:00 departure), so it was super fast for me 😂 definitely don't recommend that approach though https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2860045-help-canceled-flights-means-i-might-miss-cruise/
  23. Went to caves today they were cool! It's a pretty quick little adventure. I think maybe all in we were there for like 30 minutes? They warn you about the 80 steps up and down and that's true, but the steps are small ish but also they don't warn you about the giant ramp leading down and up too.
  24. So I'm not sure what you mean since I've never been here before, but these might be the inflatables others have mentioned,? I've not seen anyone on them
