Hello Everyone!
We have just placed a bid on an H6. If NCL accepts the bid do we have an opportunity to decline? I am worried that perhaps we may not like the location of the new room.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Krista
No, if your bid is accepted you get what they assign you, no recourse.

What does it mean if the offer goes away completely after I have already bid? I am 50 days out & it was there this AM, open to modification, but now all offers are gone along with the banner.
Don't worry it will come back. I had the same thing happen to me.

Yes Got my bid accepted to upgrade from H5 to H4 2 bedroom family villa. I am so excited for the extra space for 3 people. We leave Saturday on the Escape and just received the fantastic email.
Good for you:)

Does the minimum bid decrease if no one is bidding? The minimum for the spa Balcony on my upcoming cruise (7/16 to Bermuda) is at $500. I booked 30 days before sailing so I'm not sure if it was higher previously.
It's not too bad but if there's a possibility it will decrease I'll wait. Last year before this bidding I received 3 emails from upsell one week apart from each other and each time the price dropped significantly. It started around 1K and went down to $300pp.
I can only go by my experience and the minimum to upgrade for us never changed. I don't know if the "upsell" department is as active as before so it would be a big gamble to wait and see if pricing went down. In order to bid you must have paid what you have booked and once that is done I don't think you have an option of changing your plan.

Does one have to receive email for bid invitation. The reason I am asking, booked last week. Cruise less than 90 days out and many cabins seem available.
Can I open our vacation summary and look for link to submit bid?
I believe you must have the link to bid. When you log into your account the "banner" should be there if they want you to upgrade. It's my understanding not everyone will receive the opportunity to bid, just fyi.

I don't have the dailies. Sorry! We honestly didn't participate in too many activities on the ship because we were tired and also felt like they were a little lacking in this cruise.

:Thank you for your review, we are planning the same cruise in May of next year and was wondering what temperatures to expect throughout the cruise? Also maybe I missed it but what was the name of the tour company that you contacted for St. Petersburg? Thank You

when are you going in June? We are thinking about booking this cruise in june 17, 2018 as well. Debating between this one or the MSC Sinfonia.
We have booked on the June 17th cruise:)

I asked the same question on a couple of other threads, no answers as of yet. My sailing is 50ish days out and there are only 3 rooms left in the Haven category I bid on, so I'm curious as well as to what will happen if they "sell out"

Don't pay attention to "Sold Out" per NCL. We sailed on 05/21 and the whole cruise was taken off their website which indicated that it was completely sold out, funny we received our upgrade from mini suite to 2bedroom haven three weeks prior to sailing.
-
I'm 4 days away from sail date and the opportunity to bid is still showing, yet all categories are sold out. At what time do they close and shut down the bids? Not sure if we should be still hoping our existing bid is still in play.
I have seen people report two days before sailing that they received their upgrade. If you don't hear anything by tomorrow then I would think your bid was rejected. My credit card was charge before I received my notice so keep an lookout on your card.

If your T/A participates in the bidding program you should you need to check with them to be sure.I've only sailed NCL once prior, but never received an opportunity to bid on any upgrades. Could this be because I use a travel agent?Sent from my iPad using Forums

I just got my upgrade offer. We aren't sure if we will bid or not as we have a B1 on deck 9 so it won't be heartbreaking if we don't get it.
Can anyone please tell me how long the offer to bid is available? I feel like I have to rush to put in a bid but I think I have a couple of days at least before it disappears.
Normally NCL response back to the bidder the week prior to leaving if your bid has been accepted. The bid "ribbon" will stay up until that time given you the opportunity to either reduce, increase or cancel your bid.

Question -- still awaiting my bid status for my sailing (5/21). We only bid on the H9 since we love having the access to the spa. It's stated "sold out" for about two weeks now...
My question is, has anyone had their bid accepted even on categories that were "sold out"? I know we won't find out until two days before sailing, but I'm wondering if I should just give up hope LOL.
Thanks in advance, and congrats to everyone who's bids were accepted! And good luck to those still waiting!
Yes, our cruise was taken completely off the NCL website which would lead you to believe that the 05/21 cruise was booked but yet we received our upgrade notification.

I am 4 days away from sailing, still no clue whether I will get any of the cabins I bid on. Others sailing on my ship received theirs a week or more ago, even with the same bids on the same cabins, but I know there are still more like me who are still waiting. I am frustrated at the randomness of the whole process. Luckily, I will be happy with my aft large balcony either way, but I am not a fan of the waiting.
We received our upgrade notice 3 weeks out, went from mini-suite to H4 Haven, sailing 05/21 on the Epic. I was totally surprised that we received the notification that far out in advance.
-
Do you mind me asking where you are sailing from? We will be sailing on the Epic, departing from Rome on May 24 (but the ship also boards guests in Barcelona on May 21). I'm wondering if we'll be on the same ship - because that may mean that we'll be hearing if our bid was accepted soon!
We are boarding from Barcelona 3days earlier then you, yes the Epic. Good luck to you

We received our upgrade notice yesterday afternoon, hitting my credit card first and then the email notice. Moved up from a mini-suite to a H4-Haven. My bid was on the upper side of poor on the meter scale so a little surprised that it was good enough to win the bid. Plus NCL website wasn't even showing our cruise because it was suppose to have been "sold out". Was very surprised that we received the upgrade notice this far out in advance of our 21st sailing date, regardless we are thrilled. Good luck to everyone else that is in the bidding process..

We just received our notification that we are upgraded from a min-suite to a H-4 Haven leaving on the 21st. I didn't really think we would be notified this far out in advance, but we are happy. Are bid was on the upper in of poor on the meter and really didn't know what to expect. The cruise was supposed to have completely booked but that tell you not to believe everything NCL wants you to believe. Good Luck to everyone else that are in the bidding process...

Thanks so much! I'll be watching for one. Does it come close to cruises time?

Normally you will receive the offer about 80 days from sailing, you can upgrade up to two levels from your current booking.

AHHHHHHHH
I had a dream the other night I got a balcony for 500$. Today I did the math and for us to pay outright for a balcony it would be 1224.84. So I today I moved my bid to 250$ a person. I JUST GOT AN EMAIL! I will be in a balcony for my honey moon!!!!
Im on the dawn out of boston May 12th. 16 days to go!
That's great, you got your email earlier then most people. They must have know it was for your honey moon:)

Help needed!!! I called my TA, and can upgrade, not bid, from an inside to a balcony on the Getaway April 23 for total of $150. My question is, do I lose the UBP perk , keep it, or get 2 perks?
I would verity with your TA but since it isn't a bid I would think you would be entitled to two perks of which your UBP is one. Your TA needs to call NCL for 100% assurance of perks.

Sailing on Escape April 29, booked BA. Have pending bids on H5 and H9, although at this point their website shows H9s sold out. Have never done anything like The Haven before so really hoping we get this!
We are sailing on the Epic May 18th and the ship has been completely "sold out" for many weeks. However after talking to a NCL rep he informed me that there were still rooms available. Doesn't make sense not to show them unless they think they can get more money by people upbidding then reducing the prices so last minute people would booked. We do have a upbid on a H-4 so we'll see when time gets closer. It would be nice to know one way or the other prior to 48 hours to sailing because we are flying out earlier to tour Barcelona prior to sailing.

Escape, sailing April 1 - 8.
Booked cabin is B2, Balcony.
H7 -- bid was in Mid-Good range
H2 -- bid was in the Low- Poor range
H4 -- bid was in the Mid-Fair range
H3 -- bid was in the Low-Poor range
H5 -- bid was in the Low-Poor range
H6 -- bid was in the Mid-Poor range
Mini Suite Stateroom -- bid was the lowest I could choose.
Sorry too that you didn't get a least one of the above. We are currently in a mini Suite trying to move up to the H4. You must have had a lot of people bidding because I would have thought you would have been successful in a least one.:loudcry:

I am so sad... all of my bids to Haven were not accepted. Was notified via email at 1:10pm about 51 hours prior to sailing.
Do you mind telling what you bids were?
Thanks

We are 70 days out for epic sailing. Those of you who have won your bids how soon before sailing were your bids accepted
I've been hearing 48-72 hours before sailing you should receive either good or bad news. I know we are flying out on the Thursday before we sail on Sunday and I'll be contacting NCL come that Wednesday if I haven't heard anything.

It is too easy to overbid for an upgrade if you are not careful. I keep reading were bidders are changing their bids numerous times because they feel that they MUST increase in order to stand a chance of "winning". Remember folks you pay for the "winning" and NCL is counting on you to feel like your bid is too low and must increase numerous times for that "meter" to move up. You don't get any extra perks for upgrading other then what you currently have so keep that in mind when bidding. Just my .02 cents Good luck in bidding
