Hi - just bumping this to see if any frequent Oceania cruisers can give any update.

I'd like to book at TA in fall of 2018 and am tempted to book a Viking Ocean cruise that is already posted.

I emailed Oceania to see if they could give an idea of when their fall 2018 schedule might be available but they didn't respond.

Without knowing what happened makes it hard for anyone here to have any real idea if the staff person "went past what is forgivable" or if your expectations are unrealistic.

But it seems like a good idea to report something that you think may be unforgivable. I supervise people and absolutely want to know if a client has a bad experience with someone.

I will take that information and determine how to respond with my employee and my response will be based on the person's work history and any other relevant circumstances. Hopefully if you report a crew member his/her supervisor would respond the same way.

It's doubtful that one person's report would lead to a firing. There are always two sides to a story, and there is always context to consider.

People always seem to understand immediately that my husband and I are a pair. But I am almost always asked if I am an actor or if I work in the arts.

Umm, no, I'm a physician.

A good response if someone asks if your gay is to respond "No but my boyfriend is". :D

Your comments suggests you already know the hours for the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art. However, before lots of people start warning you posting replies that museums in Europe are closed on Mondays, the Barcelona museum is closed on Tuesdays and open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

 

In spite of your lukewarm feelings about modern art, I recommend you join a public tour in the museum or rent headsets. I spent over a dozen years as a volunteer tour guide at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC, a modern art museum where many people walk through the door sharing your attitude. Hearing someone explain why the art on display is museum-worthy may not make you like the art any more, but it certainly gives you some tools for understanding it better.

I love art and visit art museums here in NYC and whenever I travel. However modern art often leaves me cold. But on those occasions when I have joined a tour it has added immensely to my appreciation and enjoyment. Perspective is so important and a good guide can really bring that in.

I know we'll be pretty exhausted (but happily so) and we'll watch out for something in our cabin to fill out.

This will be only our second Oceania cruise - I loved the first one and booked this one while on board the last.

We did receive a fairly impressive discount (although I honestly don't remember how much) in addition to on-board credit. We changed the booking a few months later with our travel agent and had no problems getting both the discount and the OBC transferred to the new booking - but as mentioned by others we were told that no additional changes could be made without losing the deals.

We will be on a port-intensive cruise (Venice - Rome) with no sea days and we have excursions booked at every port.

I definitely want to book a cruise while on board but am concerned that I won't have an opportunity since our available windows will be so limited.

Do we have to speak with a consultant on-board to book or can we just pick up and fill out a form while were on the ship?

I have only responded to the OP who was a smoker. I have not responded to anyone who vapes and have not said that vapers emit the same smell as smokers?

 

I have also not proclaimed that people should not smoke or not vape. I don't care what people do in public or private.

 

All I have done is point out that smokers may not realize just how strong the lingering smell of cigarette smoke lingers on them and those around them.

So there will be no re positioning in fall of 2017?

I am interested in a transatlantic sailing from Europe to New York in fall of 2017.

While Carnival has many cruises posted well into 2018 the only transatlantic that is posted is for October 2016.

Any idea when I might find what I'm looking for?
