  1. Hi! Have booked cabin 7522, which I know is above the stage. Wasn't concerned because we are usually awake till about midnight on cruises anyways. However - hadn't thought about rehearsals - do they do any late night or early morning rehearsals that can be heard from the deck 7 forward cabins?
  2. Yep, I figure it's my mistake for trying to save some time and do it online. The other thing I found interesting, is that there was a little "warning" saying that guests would be able to view each other's personal information, but when I clicked on the learn more link, it took me to some verbiage about Covid. You know, websites REALLY aren't that hard to design properly 🙄 Like I said, I'll call and try to unlink, then redo the dining reservations.
  3. Yikes! That is even worse than I thought. But thanks to both of you for that information. Just what I was looking for. Guess I will call RCL and see if the accounts can be unlinked...
  4. Hmmm, maybe that's why they do it. It seems a bit invasive if you're just traveling with friends, not family. But to the other part of the question - what else will linked people be able to see? Let's say you've saved a credit card - would they be able to see that? Would they be able to print your docs? This one's a first for me, so not sure what exactly will be visible.
  5. Hi. This whole linking thing has got me very confused. I went online and booked Chef's Table ahead of our cruise. I added two guests from another cabin online (they gave me their birthdates and reservation number). All fine, but it seems that now we are completely linked. They show up anytime I try to book anything and I can see their link to pay remaining balance. I'm curious whether we will also be able to each other's check-in info, print each other's docs, etc.? It seems like a weird system that just because you want to eat dinner together, you end up completely linked. It also leaves me wondering what to do for our regular early dining times for MDR. We have 12 people total in our group and would like to be seated at tables together (either one or two, depending on whether a table for 12 is even a possibility). Do we have to link reservations to get a table together? I know everyone will recommend just waiting till we get on the ship, but with the ship being pretty fully booked, I would feel more comfortably trying to request this ahead of time.
  6. Hi. We have a group of 12 going on JOTS in February. Some of us would like to do the Chef's Table dinner. Does anyone know what the maximum number of people is for an evening? I've seen conflicting reports that it is either 8 or 12 ...
  7. Thanks! Switched from an ocean view to a balcony since the price went down. Now only need to wait six months or so to enjoy it. 🙂
  8. Hi. When a cabin shows occupancy of 3 (the triangle symbol) - will there be any obstructions within the cabin, such as a drop-down bunk bed?
  9. Well, I guess one advantage of the key, then, would be that we can get onto the ship a little quicker to make our reservations (since we aren't high status and aren't in a suite)
  10. And yes - these are the packages I was talking about. Didn't know whether I should wait for them to go on sale.
  11. Wow. Love all the responses. Thanks VJMatty for the point about keeping glasses in the room. Hadn't thought about that. We could always hide a couple in the safe 😄 We had actually done the math on bottles versus buying at the bar. BUT - the key word was in Footzz response about being your own "mixologist". DH got seriously into making craft cocktails during the pandemic, and now we are quite spoiled with our mixed drinks. So having the bottles in our room makes a lot of sense for us. What we will be trying to get onto the ship will be all the extra syrups and bitters that go into making real cocktails! Now we just need to bribe the bartenders to give us some limes and lemons and olives.....
  12. Hmmm, good point. Prices could go up. Well, I have to wait and see anyways, since dining options aren't available for booking on our cruise yet.
  13. Hi. We are on JOTS in February. I bought the Key, which includes a discount on specialty restaurants, but only when you book them on the 1st day of the cruise. The discount isn't the main reason I bought the key, but wondering if specialty restaurants tend to sell out before the cruise or whether I am safe waiting till I board to make my reservations? I want to do the Captain's Table, Chops and either Giovanni's or Izumi. Thanks!
  14. Hi, Just curious whether the bundle where you buy a bottle of rum and 4 cokes for your cabin ever goes on sale?
  15. Thanks for the reply. By the planner, do you mean the "plan your cruise" area on the website? I've looked there under dining, but it just says the standard "coming soon"
  16. Hi. Two questions, really. We have a group going on JOTS in February 2024. Most of us have MTD. We don't expect or need to all eat together every night, but if we want to make a MTD reservation for say six people, would we have to link our bookings ahead of time in order to make a reservation for all of us to sit together? Secondly, for JOTS, the app is saying MTD reservations will be available once we board the ship. Is that common? Most of the threads I have read here say that the reservations system opens up quite a bit before the cruise.
  17. Okay, so just opening up to cruise ship travel. I will keep checking back. I am still concerned about safety a bit, since there since a level 3 travel advisory for the islands. Which cruise date are you on? We are on the February 10th cruise.
  18. Well, good point. But - these drinks are a little different than a mocktail you would get on board. They have special non-alcoholic spirits that make them taste more like an actual cocktail. What they call a mocktail on a cruise ship is just basically fruit juices and some ice ...
  19. Hi. Going on JOTS next February. Would like to bring some canned non-alcoholic cocktails on board for those days when I need to slow it down 😁. Has anyone had any trouble getting these types of drinks on board? They are labeled cocktails, but they are also labeled "booze-free" or "alcohol-free"
  20. Hey, sorry for the late reply. Hope it's still helpful. We went with Benny Tours. It was a very good! One caveat - like all the other tours we took, they picked us up late. I know people talk about "island time", but the reality is that the tours tend to pick you up late, but drop you off at the scheduled time, so always count on getting 1/2 hour to an hour less time than you think you will get. Other than that - the boat we went on was comfortable and seemed to be well-maintained (very important to me, as we once got temporarily stranded between St. Bart's and St. Martin when engines on a boat failed!) Crew was very helpful and friendly. Drinks on the boat (water, beer, rum punch) were plentiful and tasty. We had asked for just transportation to Sugar Beach. This was provided, but we were part of a tour that basically dropped us off and continued on the way to the mud baths, then picked us up later. This arrangement resulted in some confusion about the lunch we were supposed to be provided while on the beach, so be sure to ask about that immediately when you get on the boat. The way back was fun, with lots of music and partying. The people who did the full tour sounded like they were very happy with it.
  21. Hi! We have a group booked on a cruise that stops at both of these ports. The stop at Trinidad is on the last day of carnival. So two questions: would it be considered safe at all for a group of 12 to go into town to watch the carnival action? We don't want to participate, but seeing the costumes would be amazing. Secondly - has ANYONE done a ship's excursions to either of these islands recently? I find lots of discussion, but no one reporting back that they have been onto the islands recently . . .
  22. Hi, I am looking for a speedboat tour to Jalousie (Sugar) beach. Came across Benny Tours. Has anyone done a tour with this gentleman? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
