I received a Move Up offer yesterday, but I was told by my travel agent that you don't get any of the perks associated with the Suite category, i.e. no Retreat or Luminae. Does that make sense to anyone?
Thanks,
Kathy

Has anyone had any experience with the Andersen Boutique Hotel? It has good reviews on Trip Advisor, but I haven't seen much about it on Cruise Critic. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

It does make a difference. With normal traffic a taxi to Gatwick would take about an hour. If you booked a cab for say 7 am that should get you to Gatwick in plenty of time. The M25 can be busy (we use it in this direction every week) but providing you allow extra time there should not be a problem. The route would be A2 to M25 Junction 2 to 7, then M23 to Gatwick. You can look online.
Cost would be about £60. Cheaper than an airport hotel and will allow you to have an evening in lovely Greenwich.
Do you know if Azamara will let people disembark that early? I wouldn't mind getting up at the crack of dawn to get to the airport, but it's all for naught if we can't get off the ship.
Thank you so much for your feedback.

Hi Kathy
It’s a good 2 hour drive from the Southampton Cruise Terminal to Gatwick Airport, for an 11.25 Flight you would need to be there by 8.25 as it will be a busy.
Our roads in the south of the England can also be very busy on a Monday morning with commuters to London and Gatwick is located on a very popular motorway!
We sometimes use the Hilton Gatwick for early flights rather than try to beat the traffic.it is right next to the terminal.
I hope this helps in your decision making
Steve
We will be docked at Greenwich, not Southampton, if that makes a difference.

We recently booked our first cruise on Azamara, Cities of Northern Europe. The cruise ends with an overnight in London. We arrive on September 9, 2018 and the last day of the cruise is September 10th.
I found a mileage award for a flight leaving London Gatwick at 11:25 am on September 10th. For those of you that may have experienced overnights or who know London better than we do, is that doable? I probably wouldn't risk it on a ship coming in that same day, but since we come in the day before, is this a reasonable option?
I appreciate any wisdom that could be shared on this issue. I need to make a decision by Friday, but I don't want to risk booking a flight we may not be able to make.
Thank you so much for your insights.

Will be sailing on Infinity in March from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso. We are taking a tour Coastal Cities, Valleys & Historical Santiago (Ends at Airport). This tour is 7 hrs. and 15 mins. Our flight going back to the U.S. leaves at 8:50PM on Delta Airlines. Will this tour get me back to the airport in time? I know that airports outside the U.S. could take a long time to check in and get to the gate.
Are you on the March 5th cruise? You should join our roll call.
BTW, being Buffalo born and bred, I love your name.

They also use the ginger beer to make a dark and stormy, so I think it is a regular item.

When we were on the Equinox two weeks ago, we were told Slush would take over the space on the pool deck where they sold suntan lotion, etc. Half the time it was never open and never very busy.

I had a situation aboard the Equinox last week that just left me shaking my head. We were coming back on board after a shore excursion, and the security person at the door checked the person's card and said Welcome Back, Miss First Name. The woman just lit into him about how dare he use her first name without permission, that she expected better treatment, and that it wasn't her name anyway.
I felt so sorry for the crew member.

Kathy,
What is the name of the VIP concierge on the Equinox? We are creating a list of names on another thread. Thanks.

We were on the same cruise, probably our best ever. We were able to spend time in Michael's Club, and agree that Alexander is awesome. His knowledge of just about everything, especially whiskey and spirits, is incredible.
The officers were very visible, and the staff were wonderful. The Equinox is our favorite ship. We can't wait to sail her again.

We were on Equinox for the inaugural sailing of the Michael's Club concept. The head of the Loyal Program was there on the first day, and the head of the Michael's Club Program was there the first two days (he left in St. Thomas).
The treatment we received was fantastic. Our hostess was incredibly attentive, as were our bar servers. There was a ribbon-cutting reception with many of the officers, two high teas, and a special whiskey tasting event.
It was a great place to go before and after dinner. Very quiet. Most of the time, we were the only people in the room.
This was a special cruise for us, which is why we splurged on a Royal Suite. We may never be able do it again, but it I could, I would.

Three and a half days, and I will be able to check it out myself!

We are sailing the Equinox on April 4, 2014. Does anyone know who is the current Captain, Staff Captain, etc.
You should join our roll call. It is very active.

Hi all,
We wanted to let you know that this is a rumor, and is not true. We have no plans to get rid of Cellar Masters or Bistro on Five at this time. Hope that clears up any confusion!
Thank you so much for letting us know! That is good news.

I've sailed with Silver Moon twice and Calabaza twice (with trip number 3 coming up in April). Both are very good, but I keep coming back to Calabaza. Gina and crew are fantastic. I love the small touches like the free photos and the free recipes after the trip. Such a class act all the way around.

Thank you so much for posting these! I am really looking forward to reading everything.
One question: Do you happen to recall when the Connections Party was scheduled?
Thanks again, Kathy

We are sailing on the same cruise in April. I would be very interested in the dailies if anyone is willing to share. My email is below.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

So far it looks like they backed the wrong horse…. ;)
Very true. Maybe they let the website folks pick their football partner.

Do you think people from Colorado don't cruise?

I also would love to see the 10/11 out of San Juan.

This is from the Q&A on Celebrity's Facebook page:

It would be wonderful if all of the threads could be merged.

Here is another interesting item from the Q&A
How do you separate the Elite & Elite Plus on the cocktail hour, since it was an issue on most cruises, too many Elites?
-
Celebrity Cruises Hi - At this immediate moment, there are no plans to separate the two groups, but that is something being considered in the future. ~ LM

Maybe my TA misunderstood. I specifically asked about the Retreat and Luminae.
I've subsequently gotten confirmation from Celebrity, in writing, consistent with the advice here. Thank you everyone for your input. I really appreciate the supportive feedback.
