  1. So on Carnival's website it lists the same exact size restrictions for checked luggage vs. carry-on luggage. That doesn't make much sense to me. Says both cannot exceed 16 inches height x 24 inches width. Seems like a checked bag should be able to be larger than this, no?

Also, I know it says each person can check up to 2 bags, but how many carry-on bags can each person have? If my wife has a carry-on suitcase, can she also bring her purse or other large "bag" in addition to the carry-on suitcase?

  2. Going on our first cruise tomorrow and the anxiety is certainly kicking in. I have printed out all of our documentation from Carnival's website, including boarding passes and luggage tags. Quick question: We both have our passports, will we need to bring any other form of ID like our birth certificates also? Or just the passports and driver's license?

  3. This is the first I have heard of a wine package and wine coupons, sorry. Could you please explain how this is purchased? I will be on the Breeze this Sunday. We do have the Cheers package also and I know if you buy wine by the bottle with your 25% off it does not count towards your 15 drink limit. But I know nothing about a wine package.

I'm sure we will drink wine every night during dinner and I am trying to figure out if we should order by the glass and have it count towards our 15 limit, or if I should buy a bottle each night...

  4. Hello. We are sailing out of Galveston this Sunday on the Carnival Breeze. Can't wait!! On my itinerary on Carnival's website it says we are arrive to Grand Cayman at 7:00 am, not sure if that's local time or ship time or will it be the same? (this time of year Grand Cayman is on EST which is an hour ahead of Galveston) Anyways, we booked a tour with Stingray Sailing. They said to be at the Royal Watler Terminal by 9:00 am LOCAL time. How long do you think it will take us to tender into port? Should we prepare our alarm clocks to be awake and ready to go by 7:00? I'd hate for us to miss our meeting with the group because of long lines for the tender. I have no idea how any of that works. I have heard of needing a ticket to get onto the tender boat? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

  5. For anyone who has been on the Breeze, could you please tell me what internet packages they offer? Specifically one that allows Facetime/Skype/Tango/any other video chat apps on your phone. What would the cost be for the entire week? Do you have to pay for the whole week, or could we just buy it for a single day?

  6. I'm leaving for my cruise on Sunday. I purchased the Cheers package for both my wife and I. Is the 15 drink limit TOTAL for the both of us? Or is it 15 drinks PER PERSON??

Can I bring a bottle of wine in my luggage so we can just keep it in our room? Isn't there a cork fee or something like that?

Another question, sorry... if I buy a bottle of wine through the fun shop online so it's in our room waiting for us, will I need to bring my own bottle opener? Or will the room have one? Sorry for the silly questions.

  7. Hi. I will be going on the Carnival Breeze on Sunday and we cannot wait!! Quick question... will the room have beach towels that we can bring with us while at the ports?? Seems like a silly question, but it would save a ton of room in our luggage if we don't need to bring our own beach towels.

  8. I think I might just reserve the steakhouse for the last night of the cruise, which would be Saturday. Or night 3 (2nd day at sea). I don't want to miss prime rib in the MDR on the first formal night, and I don't want to reserve the steakhouse for any night after being in port since we will be doing excursions in every port and we wouldn't want to feel rushed to get back and get cleaned up for dinner. Thanks everyone for the advice!!

  9. I'm about to make my reservation for the Steakhouse. And I'd just like to confirm...

My cruise is Feb 5-12. It's my understanding the "cruise elegant" nights would be the 2nd and 6th nights, which would be Feb 6th and Feb 10, respectively, is that correct?? I'm looking to make my reservations for Feb 6th and just wanted confirmation. It doesn't list anywhere on my itinerary when the actual elegant nights would be.

  10. Obviously you are out in international waters not near any cell phone towers so this may be a silly question, but my wife and I will be taking our first cruise next month for our honeymoon (7 night cruise) and it will be the longest we've been away from our kids. So, needless to say my wife will want to talk to them occasionally somehow. Would we need to wait to get on the islands to be able to use our cell phones? Would we need to contact our service provider ahead of time (AT&T) to get some kind of international data/roaming package? I'm not sure how any of this works, so if anybody has any experience with this please advise!! And thank you!!

I looked on Carnival's website. They offer different wifi packages. But then it says Facetime (and probably other related apps such as Tango for Samsung users like myself) are NOT supported at this time... so I'd need to use video chat while in the ports, correct?

Here is what I found on Carnival's website, if anybody has any experience with this please share!! And thanks!!

  11. Guess I could have done some research. This is straight from Carnival's website...

    .....

So it looks like Facetime and other similar apps are not supported. Bummer.

  12. Thanks for the reply. If I buy the internet package, that would allow me to send emails/texts directly from my cell phone? Or will I need to use a computer onboard the ship?

Also, we do not have Apple devices. However, I use an app called "Tango" on my Samsung Galaxy phone which is the same thing as FaceTime. So if I buy that internet package I would be able to use Tango on the ship? Or only while at the ports?
