  1. Yours is not going to Havana . It seems like you are only there till 5.00 we where in Havana till 2 am the next day . If you look most went to Havana, I guess Holland switched

  2. I think the interest in going to Cuba is that we weren't "allowed" to visit Cuba for so many years.

People from other countries that we have chatted with, that have visited, seem to have mixed feelings about the country.

We would like to visit as a cruise stop, sometime. But we're not in any real hurry. I don't think that we will book a cruise anytime in the near future specifically to visit Cuba, and pay for a Visa, and fill out forms, etc. etc.

We're just not that excited about it.

St. Petersburg, Russia might be kind of interesting and different; and worth all the paperwork :D

Form you put names and check a box On the visia it is 75.00 pp Cheap to last time in Brazil it was 225.00 Now it went down to 160.00 We where there3 in April had a great time

  3. How did you get back from the Tropicana to the ship? Did Blexie wait for you, or return to take you back?

He talked to a person at the Tropicana and told them him needed a cab to go back to ship .

There are a lot of cabs there so there is no problem

  4. I received an email from him with the price and directions on how to find his tour on Facebook. Asked him a few questions and he answered with a confirmation email copied below.

    Hi:

Consider your tour booked.I will serve as your guide.I will meet you just outside the terminal across the street with a sign with your name on.

No deposit is needed. You will pay in cash once the tour is finished. There is an exchange office in the terminal .You can pay for the tour in USD as well as for lunch and cigars.Anything else is in CUC.

USdollars are penalized here 13% so the cost of the tour would be 150 usd instead.

    Blexie

    Sounds like I’m confirmed...

  5. Unless you book a guarantee nothing is free . They offered you a upgrade that is what ever the price is today not the price when you booked it . The outside might have been cheaper when you booked or a special deal

  6. I’m cruising to Cuba with three girlfriends in November.

If we take a private tour are public restrooms available throughout Havana?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

If you are taking private tour just ask the guide to take you a private bathroom.

  7. Hi....four of us have a tour booked with Blexie in November and he indicated that Raul would be our guide. Can you tell me anything more about your day with him? How was his English? We’re hoping to learn about Cuba’s history and seeing all there is to see in Havana. Did you do the standard tour or were you able to customize the tour to your liking? Did you stop for lunch and if so, do you remember where? Thanks for any answers about your tour you can provide!

We where with Belxie last month I can tell you that just tell Raul where you want to go and they will take you. Yes we did stop for Lunch but do not remember the name. We did customize the tour as our tour was 10 am to 10 pm

Here are some of the pictures we took

  8. Exclusively Princess since 2008 (11 cruises with 3 future planned). I've had several cruises on X and RCCL booked over the last several years but for one reason or another I had to cancel. While I would like to book a cruise with another line, for now it's Princess.

My two pet peeves with Princess are the cheapening of some shipboard experiences and decisions that are made in building new ships and remodeling old ships. No Crooners of the Majestic or planned for the Sky? Taking away half of the Wheelhouse Bar (Emerald) for the Gastro Pub? What were they thinking.....:mad::mad:

Maybe the changes are what people want > They can not please everyone but try to please the masses . Maybe too many bars as they look at sales in each bar . Just on Holland went to Cuba went up a few times to the Crows nest hardy anyone there ever only during a happy hour

  9. Over the past few days, I’ve tried to plan a cruise to Cuba in 2019. Princess doesn’t sail there, so we looked at other options, but once we realized that we’d have to pay for coffee and there would be no robes or no laundry rooms, we came to really appreciate what we’ve taken for granted for the past cruises. All of the little things like the captain’s reception, the platinum/elite lounge, etc....they all add up.

Cuba will have to wait, we are “Princess People”.

I would say that if you wait too long They might change the rules again like they did last year

We took Holland as we wanted to go this year just in case. Not the best cruise only 7 days BUT went where we wanted to go . We book by destination we are Princess elite but sometimes you have to switch to go where you want to travel to

  10. Hi Steve, yes, we are going in June. We have a 6 hour tour with Blexie. I like to visit local Temples when we travel. I was doing some research here and on TA and did not find any info. Thanks.

I would like to send you something to give to him would that be ok ???

  11. Awesome pictures! Where was the Temple? I was hoping to find one to see, thanks.

    Beth Shalom Temple

    Entre 13 y 15, 259 Calle I, La Habana 10400, Cuba

We went to another one near it but Blexie knew where it was at , Are you using Blexie ?? If so please let me know

    Steve

  12. Loved the photos! What sites did you tell them you wanted to see?

Thank you for any insights and tour ideas you can give me for our upcoming cruise to Cuba.

We had a few things on the list that he did not have on his list . The synagogues, dinner at a seafood restaurant he suggested it was great , drinks at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, . We had the tour from 10.00 am til 10.00 pm then he dropped us off at the Tropicana that is why we saw so much . Only thing we did not do is the cannon shot due to timing. He will take you anywhere you want and anything you want to see.
