  1. I have been on the Magic and Sunshine for both Carnival and they both have that same feel you described. I have been on the Magic twice and both times it was that way. We’re going on the Carnival in April for our honeymoon. Also personally I would book as soon as you can because if you wait you run into the chance that it might be sold out, they type or room you want, or the whole ship. Plus the earlier you book the better chance you get at the time of dinning you want. We’re doing anytime dinning since it’s just me and my will be them husband. Have fun sailing and a wonderful trip.

  2. I don’t think it is good to not wash your hands. Personally I do, I also usually carry my own hand sanitizer because I am allergic to a lot of lotions and stuff the put in some sanitizers and the smells are awful. But I do not believe you should be rude and saying something to other passengers. If you do not like it then as others have started they do not use public bathrooms you shouldn’t either. It’s very rude to say something to people you do not know. That’s what’s wrong with so many people now, they do not mind their own business and they let what others do drive them crazy.

There is a country song call biscuits and gravy and it says “mind your own biscuits and life will be gravy” this is so true and more people should practice it, just saying.

  3. Check out your cruise planner for prices on dining packages. They are usually cheaper to buy before you board. There is no pattern on when things will be available to book in your cruise planner, so start checking occasionally. I have been able to make reservations as early as 120 days prior to sailing, though others have said they have been able to book even earlier than that. You do not have to wait until final payment.

Ok awesome thanks. Everyone thanks for the suggestions. Wonderland is one I was really thinking. How is Sabor the Mexican one?

  4. This time we are going to do some specialty dining. Any suggestions as to what places are good and we should do and which ones are so so? Also does Royal do any packages like 2 or 3 dining’s for a special price? Can’t find the prices to the any speciality dining or any sample menus.

  5. There are great options on your own or with independent excursion operators, just depends on what you want to do. Imgnpb's suggestion is a good one if that sounds like a day you'd enjoy. For a nice beach and snorkeling DIY is definitely the way to go, for example Sapphire is a gorgeous beach with everything you need to rent. Same with going to STJ - Round trip taxi/ferry/taxi to Cinnamon Bay via Red Hook is about $48, less expensive than the cruise ship excursion and a better time IMHO.

The Champagne Cat excursion offered through the ship is a nice day. If you want a nice day sail there are also several independent operators like Yacht Nightwind or High Pockets as well.

Lots to choose from, enjoy your day ;)

    Thanks

  6. Drinks /rounds for others would not be included in your drink package. We are trying the drink package on our next cruise and will too see if it is worth it.

I suspect based on the continual rise in individual drink prices to push you to the packages, it will be close. I am not going to get drunk just to break even or better. I too think I will enjoy the coffees and other drinks too!

You need to plan another cruise to see! :)

I do know drinks are not included for other people. It's just me and boyfriend going

  7. I will say this. In 2014 when I went without kids me and my sister. Honestly we should have got a drink package then because we easily spent $1000 on a 7 day cruise on Carnival and honestly we didn't get drunk each night. We were a little tipsy you could say and we took a few shots (we were with other family and friends so I bought a few drinks for others and a few rounds of shots) that's for 2 people so honestly the drink package and all it is included in it will be the best for me and my boyfriend.

  8. Included in your fare is Ice water, coffee, tea (iced or hot), lemonade or flavored water, milk and juice at breakfast. If you can make do with those drinks, and the occasional purchased drink, you will come out ahead without the package.

And yes...the prices have gone up to ridiculous levels.

The coffee is plain black coffee. No speciality coffees, those are included in the drink packages as well as bottle water.

  10. Parking is not gated. You are given a "parking permit" to display in the car and there is an area designated for parking while you are on the cruise. I did not have any problem leaving my car (which is not new) there during the cruise. If you have worries, it may not be worth it to you to use this option. Perhaps this borders on rationalizing, but my thought is I don't stay awake all night while a guest at a hotel worrying about my car, so why should I worry about it while on the cruise? If I was not comfortable leaving my car there while on the cruise, I would not stay there pre-cruise.

Too many variables to make a blanket statement on that - time of year, how far from FLL you are staying, and (perhaps most important) the length of your cruise. My last three cruises from FLL were 11, 10 and 14 nights, so parking at the hotel was a good option, cost wise, for me. Another benefit for me is that I prefer not to have to deal with driving into the port area and finding a parking spot. (Did that at Port Everglades in 2001 and 2008 and it was not pleasant either time, so I have used a park and cruise hotel package there in 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.) YMMV

Thank you. I live in the country, but come from a small town. I also have anxiety pretty and so when we are in a new town I do worry about our car if we're staying somewhere. I know it's sounds crazy but I am a worry wort sometimes. Thanks for the advice though.

We are driving from Texas. We like to drive and a road trip will be fun for us. But I am so bad I am already look at directions and I am buying and atlas to highlight out the way we will be taking. I will also make a list like 3 times before I actually start packing and seriously will start packing like a month ahead because I don't want to forget anything and I will re pack it just to try and get everything into 1 suitcase for me and 1 for him. Hopefully just 1 together.

Awesome thanks. I booked it. I know it's early but just trying to get little things like that taken care of. If I don't I will be so stressed and anxious doing things last minute. I am a list maker and planner.

  14. Sailed out of Miami last year. You can drink as soon as you get on the ship. Sailing out of Galveston you can also drink as soon as you get on the ship, but are limited to what liquors & beers are available. None of the good stuff

Ok. I know some lines are different and I didn't drink this last one leaving Galveston, had my kids. We're leaving out of Fort Lauderdale so that's good to know we can get a drink as soon as we board.

  15. If you are on a 7 night cruise, the days that you are on board are actually 8. So a 7 night cruise incurs a 7 night charge, for anything: drink package, internet package, gratuities.

Yea but my point was I. Texas you can't drink until your so far out to sea and obviously on the day you dock.

  16. I saw a thread somewhere on CC (can't find it now) that RCL may change the rules requiring that if you want the deluxe package then all 21+ cabin mates have to buy it..... rule changes in September.

    Anyone able to confirm this?

Not sure. It it's just 2 of us and we will both have it, so that's no biggy for us. Since we will not have kids we will drink but if we had the kids going I wouldn't be happy with that cause I wouldn't drink but he would.

  17. No stopping you from boarding around 11am and getting a full days worth of drinks in.

You could also wait until you are on board and buy it early in the morning of the second day and only pay for 6 days, however on board prices are usually higher and I suspect that what you would pay for 7 days ahead of time through the cruise planner is the same or cheaper than paying for 6 days on the ship.

Yea most likely. Oh we plan to board as early as we can for sure and we would start using it then, even if it is for a soda or what not. Someone in a earlier post said we could use it for coffee on the last morning that's good to know also cause I sure will want to get one before getting off the boat

  18. For 7 days. I think the first day depends on the port you sail out of. The last 2 we done were from NY and Tampa and the bars we could get a drink as soon as we got on the ship and that was before midday. I believe that if sailing out of Texas you have to wait until you reach a certain point before the bars open fully, except for some select drinks.

Off the topic how did you get the countdown clocks?
