Another Fascination question:
Does the "arrival time" in the itinerary mean that's when you can leave the ship? E.g. St. Thomas - 7 a.m. one can venture out?
-
Carnival offers a shuttle to the cruise port from the airport for $18. Anyone know the price for a cab?
-
Haven't read through the thread..but:
1. You can order as much food as you want during dinner. It always cracks me up when I'm at a table with cruisers who order 1 entree, and I order 2-3, and every dessert, and they're shocked you can do this.
2. You don't have to do Carnival excursions! You can find your own excursions, which will be cheaper and better!

Ok, silly question... Should one actually catch fish, what do you do with them? Can they be brought on board and cooked for dinner? :')
Based on my research, some outfits will clean the fish for you to take with you, and likely direct you to a local restaurant that can cook them! (my plan, hopefully!)

Checking in here....

Thank you for this review! I appreciate it!

Anyone have experiences with these companies?

It's been another month...anyone go fishing lately?
-
Thought I'd check in here...

On the ship in June as well. Never been on a Carnival cruise before, what does this hub app do?

When will you be cruising? We sail February 19th, so it won't be available for us...

June.

As per John Heald:
The Hub App is so popular and getting more so each week. We have the app live now on 20 ships.
We will be getting it on the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend by end of the month / beginning of next. We will be introducing it to Carnival Liberty and Carnival Dream during their dry dock and Carnival Fascination sometime before end of March.

Excellent! That means it should be active by the time I cruise. Thanks!

So I've determined I'm going to have to personalize my Barbados "tour" if I want to do it right.
Is it more cost effective to utilize Andrew Transport, SunTours, or just hire a taxi by the hour? (for 4-5 hours total?)
Has anyone done this any of the following ways? Or any particular feelings/experiences with these operators?
-
Okay, well those are the fish that usually are caught. Of course it depends on the weather, and the past couple of weeks have been very windy and rough, not conducive to fishing (except for the hard core!)
I'll be going over the summer myself, just trying to get pumped up by hearing about others' experiences.
-
I would say that if there one through a cruise excursion, take it. The light tackle boats catch tuna, mahi, wahoo, and barracuda.
There is not a cruise excursion for it for me, so I'll have to book independently. Just curious if people have gone fishing lately, if they caught anything awesome, and who they went with.

Please weigh in on your experience!

Is it functional on this ship yet? Any anticipated timeline?
-
Just curious...where do these itineraries depart from?
-
Right, I was looking for specific recommendations. I'm sure there are plenty of others...
-
Had a question about this itinerary...since it departs out of PR, I presume it's possible to board the ship, drop stuff off at the room, and then promptly turn around and leave the ship to wander around SJ?
-
Just wondering, other than Thenford Grey (and the above taxi one), what other tours are there?
-
Can anyone compare/contrast Jitan vs. Cosol? I've looked at the websites for both and they seem equally similar and appealing. Any major differences?
-
Windward and Leeward Brewery do offer tours, you'll need to contact then direct for pricing and availability.. It's 1.5 hours from Port, so be prepared with timing. Taxi will be $75us one way..
Yikes, didn't realize that. Thank you!

Is it possible to tour the Piton beer brewery?
Booked early saver, price drop with exclusive VIFP rate
in Carnival Cruise Lines

Once Early Saver, always Early Saver is definitely not true.
I originally booked ES myself, but just about every cheaper rate I found was pack & go - which means you'll get the cheaper rate, but you have to pay off your cruise immediately. I eventually decided to go with one I liked.
