  1. The Claris is where we stayed. Very nice, and extremely convenient.

We have just changed to this hotel so this is good to know :hearteyes:

We have booked one night independently before the cruise and 2 nights afterwards through Celebrity as we already had a hotel booked with them.

  2. We are going on infinity in November. I went to my cruise planner and they aren't offering any discounts:loudcry: ....did you get an email? or did you just get on to check it out and see that the 30% discount offer was there? was it for just he first night or the entire cruise? I keep checking but no such offers on my planner:loudcry::loudcry::loudcry:

    Hi

I just popped onto the Cruise planner and there it was.

They also offered a 20% discount on various excursions for a 5 day period - no email for that either AND we had just booked ours the previous day. It was only by chance that I went back on to check something and saw the discounts .

Luckily I managed to change our bookings to get the reduced prices but it was annoying that I had come by them just by chance :(

  3. We are travelling on the Eclipse in Nobember.

I have just logged on to our cruise personaliser and they are offering a 30% discount on dining at Murano and Tuscan grill for our first night.

    Which one would you pick?

    Is this worth it?

We were thinking of treating ourselves to one of the speciality restaurants just not on the first night!

    Thanks

  4. A couple of cruises we are looking at are outside the 360day (or so) flight booking window.

I cannot find anywhere if you can book a cruise and then add on the flights when they become available. Having looked at available flights for earlier sailings the fight prices are very good and better than I can book independently.

Can anyone let me know if they have done this or if it is possible?

    Many thanks

  5. If you can get to Canterbury - a couple of stops on the train or a 15 minute taxi ride you'll find much better places to stay and a beautiful city too.

Dover is a right dump - there is no way id stay there! I work there and in Canterbury so would always pick Canterbury.

There is a Premier Inn, a Travelodge and plenty of independent hotels in Canterbury.

  6. You can go by train from Dover to London and then London to Southampton or National Express Coach for the same journeys - both will require a change.

The train station is a little walk from the coach station if you have lots of luggage though.

National express coach will generally be much cheaper than the train as they dont really do any offers on the Kent routes into London - if there are 4 of you however you can get a group ticket.

As an example we are sailing on Crown Princess from Southampton in September.

We will drive 1/2 way to london and get the train up, then we have the coach booked for the grand total of £5 each!! (we are flying back into Heathrow so have to mess around wth transport a little!)

I like the coach as the driver can monitor who is getting on unlike the train.

  7. We are booked on the Crown Princess TA from Southampton in September.

We have reserved a Princess excursion in Nova Scotia and are just looking through the itinerary.

It says "you can enjoy a tasty lunch" etc - we are wondering if the lunch is included in the tour price? Doesnt mention it anywhere in the itinerary details.

Otherwise it'll be breakfast rolls and cheese in the hand luggage ;);):o:o

    Thanks

  8. If your at the PI you can park up while you unload your bag then just pop the car next door.

    Its soo easy.

We left ours there for 2 nights and had no issues.

We always take everything into the hotel though. We keep a separate bag of bits - i.e. nearly finished toothpaste so we dont have to dig about too much into our luggage. We then just leave any dirty stuff in the boot when we go away.

  9. Thanks are there any excursions that are a must, did you book them with p o

We didnt book any excursions at all.

We didnt get off in Bergen - it was peeing down so we didnt go out:(

Flam - as it wasnt height of summer we just walked up to the train station and booked our tickets. As we hadn't planned to do the train I hadn't done my research. I wished I had...

if you're fit enough get the train to the top and cycle back down (Take a packed lunch made over breakfast ;)). We did the train both ways and i would have loved to have pootled down on a bike! I think you can hire them at the top.

At Olden we just wandered up into the valley and had a great 4-5hrs walking.

At Stavanger we went to the Petroleum museum - it was OK. Glad I did it but not something we'd return to.

There are lots and lots of excursions you can do but we were happy just doing our own thing.

Make sure you take some snacks and drink with you - its VERY expensive to buy anything.

  10. We are on Crown Princess on 2 Sept 17 (Southampton to NYC).

We leave a week after our 10th wedding anniversary so I am trying to persuade DH to have a vow renewal ceremony. Just the basic package.

Has anyone done this - what did you think?

(It might be just another excuse to buy a new frock:confused:)

    Thanks
