Jayson was in Diamond Lounge when we were aboard in February, and in Concierge Lounge during our June cruise.  I don't recall if he said what his future schedule would be.  We would love to see him again!

Thanks for the reply.  We were on board in February also, and thought he did an excellent job.  Hoping he'll be there for our October cruise.

  2. Dropping the testing requirements are subject to the regulations of the countries/ports you are visiting.  Our October cruise stops in Canada, and they still require vaccination and a negative Covid test prior to boarding.  Just got an e-mail from RC stating this.

  3. It's been my experience on the 5 cruises I've taken since they started up last July that they have been fairly strict about boarding times.  If you arrive before your scheduled time they do not allow you in the terminal regardless of the weather.  In February we saw a number of people waiting outside in the cold wind and rain in Baltimore because they showed up an hour before their time slot.

  4. I am so sorry for your sad news.  I had to cancel a cruise under similar circumstances.  I contacted Royal first to cancel and got the contact phone number for the AON insurance.  I found the AON representative very helpful.  After completing and returning the paperwork, my refund came through very quickly.  Good luck.

  5. I will be travelling with a friend in October departing on Royal Caribbean out of Baltimore.  She is semi-mobile but cannot walk any distance nor stand for a prolonged period of time.  I doubt she would be able to stand in a line waiting to get through security and I know she will require wheelchair assistance to board the ship.  Does anyone know if I would be able to arrange wheelchair assistance through Royal Caribbean, or if we will have to gamble on getting a wheelchair once at the port?  Any information will be appreciated.

Hey Janet - we are in Maui right now on the "X" Eclipse (the one with the barnacle problems).

Hey there!  Heading to Port Canaveral on Friday for B2B - Bermuda/Bahamas on Mariner.  Birthday cruise with BFF.  Love Maui!  That banyan tree in the center of town is amazing.  Good to hear from you.  Hello to "Mean Mary."

You can't online - RCI did away with that when they "enhanced" the web site a few years ago. You have to call.

Don't you love it how RC "enhances" things and always makes it more inconvenient and difficult to get something accomplished.

  8. I lock my phone up in the safe the minute I get to my cabin and don't take it out until the morning of disembarkation.  I've managed just fine with reservations, etc.  Ask my cabin attendant to provide a paper copy of the Cruise Compass, and if necessary, check the display screens near elevators on each deck for any other info I may need.  One of the things I've always loved about cruising was being completely out of touch with the real world.  I don't even want to watch any news.  It's all bad anyway - don't need that downer!

  9. Last time I was in Bermuda, there is a visitor center building at the end of the pier where you can purchase bus/ferry passes.  I'm sure it's open now that the cruise ships are back.  I think a day pass is $19, but I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me.
