My wife and I are going on our first cruise for our 25th in July as well. We booked through a TA and I cannot modify the comments section either so I just emailed our TA and they updated the info which was visible shortly afterwards.

Marine.. A very good loss for you too. Also
what are you doing.
Meal replacement shake for breakfast. Another shake and a protein bar for lunch and a sensible dinner with lean meats and reasonable carbs with trying to stay between 1250 and 1500 calories a day. In addition to 5 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training a week.
-
Down 4 lbs for the week. Only 14 to go to reach the goal I set for our cruise. Feeling a bit better each week and I am determined to never get back to where i started at.
-
Only down 1lb this week but that's ok as it is still a loss and not a gain. 12 weeks to go to reach my goal.
-
Down another 2 lbs this week for a total of 46 down for the year and grand total of 100 down since i started my journey.

Welcome and great job Marine 91. 6lbs in a week is pretty impressive!!! What are you doing, exercise or dieting or both? Hope you come back each week and reach your goal....
For meals I do a protein shake for breakfast, another one for lunch along with a protein bar and then a sensible dinner with trying to keep everything at or below 50g of carbs and 1200 calories a day. I also hit the gym for cardio 5 days a week and weight training on 2 of the 5 days with various other exercises I do at home during lunch a few days a week (I work from home). We do cheat on Friday nights with some of our favorite foods, but made in a healthier way. I also take CLA and L-Caritine as supplements, but I think the biggest thing that has helped is we have only eaten out once since the beginning of the year.

New guy to the party here. Been working on my journey for the past few years with mixed results and a lot of me being complacent thinking i got this so i stopped using the tools that were helping along the way. Since the beginning of the year I rededicated myself to reaching a specific goal before our July cruise. I typically weight in on Fridays and was down 6 lbs last week for a total of 44 down for the year and 98 in total since I started 2 years ago. Only 22 lbs more to reach the goal I set for the cruise but I am hoping to surpass it on my way to my final end goal.

The Freedom went in dry dock back in 2014 so it will be awhile before it goes again.

So how are people ordering beverages and such before they can get into their cabins? Are there bracelets or something?
From what i have read you use your boarding pass until you can access your room to get your cards.

The turnaround for my wife's a few months ago was 19 days from sending in to passport in hand

Thank you for your review. We will be sailing on the Freedom in July for our first cruise ever.

Ouch.. I could imagine how awkward that drive home would be. Right after I booked our first cruise a few months ago my wife went in to mom planning mode and created a binder and put everything including our passports in it.

Nice video. Thank you for sharing.

Congrats. I am in the same situation and we are taking our first cruise next summer.

My wife is part of the invisible disability group. She has an L3 to L5 spinal fusion and a spinal cord stimulator implanted in her back to help with nerve damage she received from a car accident several years ago. She has good days where she can climb one or two flights of stairs and bad days where she has to use a cane or a wheelchair. We have seen the looks and heard many comments over the years but whenever we see someone on a scooter or a wheelchair our mindset is that they get on first if we are waiting for an elevator as there will always be another one.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It is a lot to absorb for sure.

You'll get a lot of answers on this board. Sometimes TOO many answers! LOL!!
Don't worry about looking like a noob, either. We were all noobs once, and there will be a bunch of noobs on any cruise you take. I think it's much better being a noob than a schmuck, which you'll also see on board. :p
Just get on board and enjoy yourself - that's what it's all about!! Oh, and congrats on 25!
Thank you very much. My partner in crime has been on the fence for many years about taking a cruise.
Now comes the worse part. The wait. :)Welcome to the forums. If you haven't already, go to the Roll Calls section, find your cruise, and post or subscribe to the thread.
It is crazy. After booking it was like... Ok we only have 282 days to get everything in order. lol

Hello all.... First timer here. I have been stalking the site for the last few days and it has been a tremendous help as I just booked our first cruise for our 25th anniversary next July last night. Been talking about doing it for years but never pulled the trigger. Still can't believe we did it and we are beyond excited and I am looking forward to continuing to educate myself so I don't wind up being the noob you can see from 10 miles away.....

Great videos and tips. I just got my Hero 5 Black the other day and can't wait to really use it.
