Last October the day before disembarking Splendor, I got an email link to the survey. The man in the business center helped me get started. This past Sunday I disembarked Splendor in Miami. There was no mid cruise survey or end of cruise survey. I was disappointed because I wanted to particularly praise two cruise members. I asked a lady on the transfer bus and she didn’t receive one either. I wonder if they have been discontinued for seven night cruises. 

We have seen several couples dancing in the Splendor Lounge prior to dinner. It just depends on the musicians and the people that night. 

I’ve been on three of the ships and I don’t recall having to hold down the button for the hair dryer. Ask your cabin attendant if the other kind is available. 

cwn, I agree on port extensive cruises, people get tired. On the recent London-Barcelona cruise, we gave ourselves three extra sea days - the extra days in Lisbon and Bordeaux and another port. We loved the quiet time relaxing in the shade by the pool and enjoying a leisurely lunch. We have learned this the hard way. 

I wear black pants with a nice top like I would wear to a upscale restaurant. My husband took a blazer intending to wear in in the specialty restaurants, but wore it often because the restaurants were chilly. I always took a wrap. I saw very few men in ties. 

My daughter and I are booked on a cruise out of San Juan on March 24. If you haven’t already done so, set up your account on the Regent website. Then go to booked cruises, click on manage booking, then click on show my itinerary. Once the pre cruise hotel is listed, it will be shown on the first day of the itinerary. Mine for this cruise doesn’t show the hotel yet. A cruise I’m taking this fall does have the hotel. Keep checking. 

We are booked on Splendor late September/early October 2023 Southampton to Barcelona. If you were on this cruise last year, what kind of weather did you have? Did you need more than a light jacket? Was it warm enough to sit by the pool or eat outside at the pool grill? I know I can check weather history for each port, but hearing from you would be helpful. Thanks. 

Thanks for your suggestions and a big thanks to papa flamingo for recommending GoReady. Offers the cancellation and medical coverage we need for much less than Regent and less than half of Allianz quote. No negative reviews except that took awhile to get refund which is expected. 

Preparing to buy travel insurance for a two week cruise in Sept. Since we are 80 and 83 cost is outrageous. Regent insurance is about half of Allianz, but Allianz has substantial higher medical and medical transportation coverage which we are the most concerned with. I’ve used Travel Guard in the past, but my TA no longer recommends it because of a bad experience. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 

On our last cruise, Splendor, my husband not a blazer planning to wear it, no tie, in the specialty restaurants. He wore it more often only because it was chilly in the dining room. I wore black pants and a kinda dressy top like I would wear in a nice restaurant at home. And I always have a wrap. We don’t do anything different on formal optional nights. Enjoy!

Just want to say how much I have enjoyed your blog. It especially was interesting since I’ve been on the Explorer and Splendor. I’m curious if writing is your profession. You surely bring your experience to life.

Sounds to me like you need an experienced travel agent. Working out issues like this is what they do. Good luck. I’m inclined to agree with those who suggest you talk to your child’s teachers and let her miss four days of school. 

We are on this cruise next September. What were your favorite excursions and how was the weather?

I can book shore excursions on 9/24/2022 for a cruise next year. Usually I start reviewing and researching excursions weeks before I can actually book. For this one, I can’t find where I do this. Please help. Thanks. 

I received an email about getting $500 credit and a post cruise hotel on certain cruises. We have a deposit on a 2023 cruise which was listed in this promotion. My travel agent held for hours to ask a Regent rep about it. We would have to rebook at a new rate and it would cost an additional $200 per person. We opted not to do this since we have stayed in Barcelona before. 

My travel agent has spent hours on hold with Regent trying to get an answer about this. 

In Columbia, SC. Fourth Regent cruise booked for September 2023. 

In reference to transportation when you booked own air - on our cruise out of Miami in February, we used AmEx points for air. This cruise used credits from a cancellation the previous year. We were allowed to put those credits towards transportation from the airport, to the ship and back to the airport plus the hotel. We were in a F1 cabin. 

Fellow South Carolinian here. Loving your trip report about Splendor. We were on her the first two weeks in February. You are reviving my wonderful memories. Awesome ship. 

Recently off of Splendor. The Divos and Divas show and the Salute to Broadway were our favorites. 

After this cruise, I have a feeling you will be spoiled by Regent. You are in for a treat. Enjoy. 

You still can do your own. I washed one load of items I didn’t want put in a dryer. I wasn’t sure what I was doing because I didn’t understand the symbols on the machine. The free laundry perk is wonderful and I think this began pre Covid. 

Just ended two weeks on Splendor. Fortunately I did not see any bare chested men at the pool grill.
