Yes us as well, that probably explains why it is so sold out as they are just now doing the 8 day, still trying to wrap my head around the until 10PM in Aruba and Bonaire

We did the A and C last year on another line and loved both islands. The extra time really takes the pressure off and allows you time to explore the island

i realize that southern caribbean itineraries are 8 days, however every celebration cruise that i have looked at was 7 days.  I see now that they do have some 8 days in 2024. my apologies mz-s.

We are on an 8 day southern Caribbean on 7/15/23 on the Celebration... probably don’t see it because it’s sold out last I checked because it’s such a popular cruise

We are going on the Celebration on July 15th. I think we are planning some similar things though! We are planning an UTV tour of the island in Aruba and then heading to Eagle Beach for a bit. In Bonaire, we are going on a snorkeling excursion with Woodwind (I read on here they are great.) We booked a turtle and beach excursion on Curaçao. I’m hoping we actually see turtles!

Ha… fabulous… we are on this same cruise with a group of 30.. feel free to find us and join the fun..

I believe it was a casino offer, because the gamblers in the group got it with free drinks in the casino, the two who have never set foot in the casino got it without the free drinks. We are all Florida residents, perhaps that was part of the targeting?

It said it was up to half off, but it definitely wasn't a set discount across the board.  What was interesting about it is that it seemed to be a steeper discount on balconies and suites, as opposed to what we normally see, which is steep discounts on insides and sometimes oceanviews.  The Excel suites were definitely a relative bargain, but still out of my budget.  If we valued the extra space, ocean suites were going for what a good balcony deal is, and balconies were going for good inside rates.

We had friends and family book 12 cabins individually on the 7/15/23 Carnival Celebration. About half were the 50% off and the other half were the “Icing on the Cake”. Actually those who booked the 50% off paid $1721 for an 8G on Deck 16. The ones who booked under the “Icing”;promo got the same cabin for $1631.. Both amazing deals as the price before and after was over $3500..

This sale doesn't show up for me in our offers - and I've been looking several times a day.  Our kids have a 3 day cruise on hold for May for $100 less than the rates that are available to us.  Seems that's always the case.  We went on Mardi Gras with them last month and they paid less for their deck 17 Spa balcony than we paid for our deck 16 Lido balcony - AND got $500 OBC.  We got nothing but a high priced cruise (but loved it anyway).  😂

Unfortunately not everyone got this offer.. we had 24 people book the July 15th, 2023 cruise on the Celebration the day it came out.. We have friends in Texas who have taken more Carnival Cruises as us not get the offer..

We got 8 night category 8G which is the highest non spa balcony for $1721.. Prices for same cabin were coming up over $3300

Since you indicate you booked this on your own (no PVP assumed?), you can go to the cancellation button and cancel outright.   That should cancel everything associated with this booking number (billing) and let you know any fees associated with it (if any).

If you want to see if you can transfer the offer to another week then I would call CCL directly and speak to someone on the phone to see what they can do.  Yes, you might be on hold for a while but I guess it could be worth it in the end if you get what you want.  Good luck!

Unfortunately the 50% off deal is a non refundable rate so you may very likely lose that $100 unless they let you transfer to another cruise immediately but that promo is over so you won’t get the same great deal unfortunately.. Good luck…

So in the Comedy club and theaters was someone walking down the isle making people put their mask back up after a drink or seated???   I am gonna have a hard time with that, I like to drink while watching those shows and I know I will be having fun and forget to  pull my mask back up!!!!   I HATE the mask rule, all the others I'm good with!!! 🍻

On the Magic last week we did not hear one person asked to pull their mask up or put their mask on. Sitting at the bars or eating, majority were not masked nor were they doing sip and cover. Theaters somewhat sip and cover but not policed.

My wife and both said it seemed stricter in August then it did now. Use common sense and courtesy. When you're walking around inside with no food or beverage people had masks on.. Outside pretty much was a mixed bag of masks vs no masks.

So essentially, there was not mask police out there policing whether you are masking properly..

One DEATH is alarming to me ☹️. I'm debating life. Living is a bliss.

    Agree 100% BasicSailor.

I was in no way minimizing the deaths. Only making the point that cases and deaths are not rising and we don't need to be hysterical as the person I was responded too was trying to taste.. Masking is definitely happening but not being overly monitored as most people when walking around the ship were wearing masks inside.

I guess it really does depend on the bar, but the SkyBox bartenders are pretty strongly enforcing sip & cover (along with the CD mentioning sip & cover in all of his announcements).

At the end of the day, it’s the bartender’s livelihood on the line — this has been the most packed bar on the ship all weekend because of football. If they get Covid and have to quarantine, they’re missing out on all that extra tip cash.

They’re humans too, with families and loved ones to support back home — it’s a shame people forget that in their disdain for wearing a mask for a slight inconvenience on a vacation.

Why is it any different then sitting 4 ft away from a fellow diner at another table in the MDR. No-one wore masks once they were seated so why are bars different?

I was at every bar on our cruise and it never happened nor did our CD Andy.. Not sure why different ships would have their bartenders enforcing differently or CD's.. Alchemy packed every night and not one mention of sip and cover as was the Atrium,Tides, or Hat Trick.. Or the Tides Bar.12 total cases on our cruise was the rumor so definitely no outbreaks...

Just got off Carnival Pride this morning. I rarely even saw people sitting at the bar,  but those who did show up were keeping their masks on. The cruise felt very empty and I rarely encountered a line.

Well that stinks for everyone on the Pride... The 2000+ people on our Magic cruise certainly weren't laying low and enjoyed the cruise...

That is OK. I probably won't be cruising for a while anyway.

Please stay away as long as you can… 1/2 full ship was amazing and besides wearing masks at times it was very normal… I’m gonna not be happy with full ships again… Feel bad for staff as they always wear masks but besides that great times on emptier ships what a luxury…

So, yes - Sip & Cover is annoying, but you get pretty used to it … or, don’t sit at the bar and take your drink somewhere less crowded (for me, a couch along the windows outside the casino/Red Frog currently where I don’t have to be so fastidious about the masking up between drinks.

But, as Lionel told me last night, he prefers people sitting at the bar wear masks for his safety. That’s good enough for me to do it if I want to sit at the bar.

When sitting at a bar on the Magic which I just got off of a few hours ago 99% of people seated at a bar were not masked at all.. Maybe other ships are different but this was not the case as of 12 hours ago.. Sip and cover was happening in theaters but never at the bars…

I have no qualms about keeping vaccine and testing in place, but I would love sip/cover to die down before my cruise in March...

Just off the Magic today and I did not hear one announcement or one comment to anyone to keep their masks up.. I was on it in August as well and TBH I thought the August cruise seemed more controlled than this one… They do have people standing at entrances to restaurants asking for mask but if I had a drink in my hand they never said a word whether I had my mask on or not..

I am not trying to start any rumors here, but as I prepare for our cruise in 16 days I am almost sure I remember a discussion on this board that raised the issues of changes to testing requirements for vaccinated cruisers due to Omicron.  One of the posts seemed to indicate that vaccinated cruisers will need to do PCR testing instead of antigen for some time period (thread mentioned the start and proposed end date and our cruise is in the range)... yet I can't find anything on Carnival's website or the omicron email I received about this and can't find the thread.  Anybody remember that thread and/or have any thoughts about vaccinated cruisers testing requirements changing from antigen two days prior to cruising?  TIA.

Spoke to an agent from carnival today and the Rapid antigen test is absolutely acceptable.. Getting mine at CVS next Thursday for Saturday 1/15 cruise..

Many may cruise for sure, just not this ole Boy 😉 to me it matters. I do find it strange that Yellow has been popping left and right within the CDC, but nothing is tipping the iceberg into Red.

If one crew member Teats positive it puts the ship In the yellow… There are no numbers for red.. It’s only if it overwhelms the health staff on the ship…

    Nothing to panic about..

  16. Well what really bad people would do to cheat the systems is just get those drinks for her since they are free for you and unlimited. Now this is highly frowned upon and against the rules of course so I certainly am not suggesting you do that because that would be wrong!! 😉😉😉😜😜

  17. When it comes to alcohol the Alchemy bar is amazing. Order mixed drinks vs beer and if you truly care about getting the most out of it.. Also take advantage of the shakes and coffees included as non alcoholic options.. Happy Honeymoon!!!🎉🎊🍾

    Thanks Babr,

Makes sense.  Of course we are not anticipating a positive test.  The first leg will be more of a 6-day relaxation cruise with just the 2 of us before friends join us for the 8-day 2nd leg.  We are contemplating just staying on the ship the entire first leg just to be extra cautious.

We will be joining you in leg 2.. Can’t wait.. Little longer wait then you guys but close enough …
