I highly recommend snack shack for lunch - great funnel cakes, chicken parm sandwiches, etc all included in your cruise fare.

You can ride the tram (free) and get a feel of the island.    Lots to do and see for free.

I love me some good funnel cakes and my hubby is a food/buffet guy Lol. Coco Cay looks pretty awesome now, the old was ok, just private beach and really not much to do. I think the 1st time we ever went was in 2014 on our very 1st cruise and 1 other time. We haven't been on a cruise since 2019 due to Covid taking over the world 😞

  2. Hello,

We are booked on Harmony in Aug and its our 1st cruise since Covid and we have never been to the NEW Coco Cay and only to the original.

Is there anything Free to do there now such as beach, pool etc? I was looking at the prices for things to do and they seem outrageous in my opinion so if nothing is free than I doubt we will even get off there. DO they still have shops to buy things?

    Thanks

  3. Wow, these are great pictures, how did you get these with no people in most of them? I can't wait to go on Navigator in about 3 weeks. She is so beautiful, I really love the bright colors they have added.

When you said the club is for Gold or above, we are Platinum so that means we can use it now?

Thanks for sharing these pics, I am so excited.....

It's a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands ...
You do know that the Kingdom of the Netherlands doesn't only include the Netherlands in Europe ? It includes the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint-Maarten. Bonaire is a special municipality within Netherlands proper and not a country.

Interesting, someone told me it wasn't part of the Netherlands. I did some reading on it but never saw the info you posted. Never been to the ABC so was hoping the ports wouldn't change.

  5. Does anyone know if the issues with Venezuela will cause the ship to not be able to go to Curacao ? We have seen on the news that Venezuela is not allowing

ships into there waters according to news and that would mean Curacao because those waters are owned by Venezuela. This is for the April 12th Southern

    Caribbean cruise out of Miami.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything? I have not found any info on the boards about this yet. Thanks

  6. Thanks for all the info, We have AAA & AARP and sometimes not using those gets you a cheaper rate, at least when I call that is what I am being told. We need a hotel Post Cruise, we are on our own on Fri when we disembark but my BFF is showing us around on Sat then we leave at 5:30am on Sunday so that is why we need a 24hr shuttle to airport from hotel since we leave so early

I am hoping we can check in early or leave our luggage at hotel so we can spend Fri sightseeing Seattle since we have never been there.

The best rate I have gotten so far is the Clarion Seatac, anyone stayed there before?

    Thanks & Happy Cruising

  7. I hope it is inexpensive for you as it is probably the worst itinerary in Alaska. Did you do any research in Alaska before you booked?

This is why it is important to look at itinerary before one books. Booking simply by cruise line is a huge mistake.

Why do you say it is the worst itinerary? Which itinerary for Alaska do you think is better? We love Royal so booking with them is not a mistake. We plan on trying Celebrity,MSC and possibly Norwegian one day. Thanks

  8. This itinerary missing a 3rd port in Alaska such as Ketchikan but spends more time in Victoria (Canada). A trade off. Most other Seattle roundtrips include another day in Alaska but minimal time in Victoria. I personally would prefer to spend more time in Alaska as I am going on an Alaskan cruise. It is a weak itinerary for seeing Alaska but is good if you want to spend more time in Victoria.

I would definitely book the small boat trip to Tracy Arm. Plan a couple hundred more per person for this. I personally prefer going to one of the other glaciers (Hubbard or Glacier Bay with Glacier Bay being my choice as it is never missed) as Tracy Arm is often missed, even possibly in July.

Did you book this itinerary based on the ship only?

No we booked it while on another cruise, the ship didn't have anything to do with it. Alaska is a place we have always wanted to cruise and we got a great price so we booked it. We missed our Harmony cruise in Sept due to the hurricanes and we booked the Alaska cruise over a year ago.

  9. Again...nonsense.

There have been closed loop cruises from Seattle using Victoria as the required foreign call since the beginning of cruising in Alaska.

For such closed loop cruises a US citizen has for the most part always been permitted to use the combination of US government issued birth certificate + picture ID in lieu of a passport.

There have been NO SUCH RESTRICTIONS for those persons having to stay on the ship in Victoria or any other Canadian port.

If a person is somehow ineligible to visit a certain nation on the cruise itinerary they will simply be denied boarding. Yes that does happen to persons with felony records who book an Alaska cruise. There is NO WAY to accommodate people in that odd circumstance--they simply will not sail, period.

But that has NOTHING to do with the ability to take a closed-loop cruise from a USA turnaround port using the permitted proof of citizenship other than a passport. Such alternative would not be offered--PERIOD--if there was a port call that REQUIRED passports from all passengers. Canada IS NOT one of them.

    Thank you!

I have never heard of a person being ineligible to cruise, how would they even know that to begin with?
