  1. Whilst onboard QE very recently, I paid the deposit for a cruise with my M&S credit card and had the booking passed to my agent as usual.  The next time I went to Voyage Sales I was informed if I booked direct with Cunard and used the card it would attract 5% discount.

Cunard - Southampton said I had to oontact M&S for a code!!!   M&S o not seem to know about it.

  2. I spoke to Cunard  yesterday  it took it no further forward. I took a pragmatic decision and printed wrap around labels with all the details of a Cunard label

    Name stateroom. Location. Cruise Ref

    and  contact details

I remember the days when we got a box with leather luggage holders with tickets.   Then a faux leather wallet with all tickets in it.

  3. I tried a few days ago to print the e tickets and luggage labels.  There were problems so I researched it and found information about using a different browser and enabling pop up windows.  I managed to print the e tickets but on returning could not ptint the luggage labels.  Both are 'greyed out'.

My travel agent states this is a Cunard and P&O issue.  I rang Cunard today they will send a query to the IT Department for them to look into, still may not be available for Monday when we sail.  Anyone else having similar issues.? I certainly have never experienced it before.

I have prepared a label of my own to assist when we get to Southampton.  Loved the lables we received at the back of the Before you sail booklet.

  4. When we were on Around South America we took 24 bottles of wine with us and bought more during the voyage. My husband arranged with the Sommelier to take several to him at a time and then we paid the corkage. This allowed us to have a choice of wine available, without any fuss.

On  other occasions we buy the Commodore Wine Package at $715 per 12 bottles as these are nice wines.

  5. No they will not cover the number of days.  I contacted a number of companies yesterday and it is starting to look promising. BIBA have a list for those with pre existing medical conditions.

It is getting full cover and a reasonable cover for cancellations.  Not cheap but not extortionate.  We will certainly keep the annual one going as it is a very reasonable fee.

  6. We have annual travel insurance at a reasonable rate but needed to get one off cover for the World Cruise, we have previously sailed on 75 and 78 days at £1300 additional insurance.  However for 102 days I find £25,000 rather a lot just for the insurance.  To be fair the person quoting me did not instil much confidence as she kept going off to speak to  her Manager.

I will try a broker as the length of the cruise is cited as a problem with other I have tried.online today. We are both 2 years older so that may increase the price.

If we cannot get a reasonable price we will transfer to half a world cruise as we are already covered by our present insurance.

  7. We were on QM2 Caribbean from 14th January  until 15th March. We chose to stay onboard in New York as we did on the outward leg of the second cruise except to go through Immigration as transit passengers.  Husband and son tested positive on Wednesday.  Heard tonight a friend onboard has tested positive as well.  Can only think someone  brought it onboard in New York.  It does not matter how careful you are and vigilant with mask wearing it can still get to you.

  8. It was impractical to tender passengers into St Lucia because of social dstancing it would have taken too long.  Grenada was a good choice as Cunard do not call in there very often. We had a great tour of the island and Allandale Falls with a government approved driver.

  9. Could anyone enlighten me of the number of formal nights on thos 28 day voyage please. We booked whilst onboard and I thought it was 9, the 14th January voyage only had 4.  I only have 3 days at home to repack so do not want to take too much but do want to dress appropriately as I thought the standard on dress for some could have been better.

I have looked on the voyage calendar but it does not show.

    Thank you

  10. We returned home from this voyage yesterday. Had a wonderful relaxing time with excellent service throughout. We were in the Grills and the personal level of service was exceptional, but throughout the ship the staff were great.

It would have been nice to have more evening events, few late night quizzes and 7pm is not good for the Wipeout 8pm is a better fit for most passengers.  However we are sailing in the time of Covid and have to be adaptable.

My only concern was the poor standard of dress in the evening. Polo shirts, trainers and T shirts are not appropriate wear at dinner.

We enjoyed it so much we have booked 2 other cruises whilst onboard.

The Grenada day was the highlight of our trip as we have been unable to see our family due to lockdowns, We could hug our grandaughter (18 months) for the first time and return this week on QM2 as we hope to meet another grandchild on this occasion as well and  we have lots of goodies to take them.
