I believe it only applies to American Express Platinum card holders.
Basically, if you book cruises through an Amex Qualified Travel Agent, you may receive some perks when you use your Amex. Platinum card. Many travel agents have this qualification, but not all, so for those looking for the perks, it's important to ask.
Right now, I have 2 bookings with 2 unrelated TAs and both have that qualification. You do have to make the request, as it doesn't happen automatically. Direct bookings don't qualify, so again, to get the perks, one must use a Amex qualified TA to do the booking, and the entire balance must be paid w/the Amex Platinum card. There are also some nice trip interruption/ medical evacuation benefits backed into the card's benefits. It's pricey, but I get a lot out of it.
What the perks are depends on the cruise line, number of days in the sailing, and category of cabin booked. For example, we have an Oceania cruise upcoming and I think for pretty much any category booked, I receive $300 in OBC, a bottle of wine of my choice from their tastings menu, and an invite to a wine tasting. Usually, I get $200-$300 OBC on my Celebrity bookings, but it depends. This is in addition to any OBC that your travel agent may provide in their normal course of business. Often, they include an extra amenity, which could include specialty dining, or similar.
Here's a link that may be helpful.https://www.americanexpress.com/icc/cards/benefits/travel/cruise-privileges-and-discounts.htmlDoesn't look like Celebrity qualifies for the program. One good thing though, confirmed our TA is a qualified AMEX TA. Good to know for the future.

Thank you! We have a Platinum Card and never thought to ask our TA if there is any benefit using that card. Plus I believe she is an AMEX TA. Thanks!

It’s been my understanding that the pricing offered under Celebrity’s exciting deals promotion is about as good as it gets. In fact, I grabbed a discounted cruise out of Los Angeles last year, and they refused to honor my usual American Express cruise privilege benefit on that sailing because exciting deals are supposedly their rock-bottom prices, and don’t qualify for perks like that.
I got their most recent exciting deals today, and they don’t seem exciting at all. They seem to be about what I would usually expect for a regular sailing that wasn’t part of a promotion. So is it just my imagination, or are the exciting deals a lot less exciting?
What's the AMEX Cruise Privilege Discount?

Dumb question perhaps...what is a CVP?

Our experience in August on Millennium was excellent. Much less expensive, I might add. We paid around $100 pp. Yes, we received the cookbook. The main chef for the entire cruise was our host. We also bought the wine pairings. Don't recall how much, but it was worth it.
One of the best parts of the experience was meeting the eight other passengers, six of whom we have remained in contact with since the cruise.

Thank you!! We will def go if there’s a meeting!
There will be a meeting. Be sure to attend. It’s important to know what to do and what not to do. Plus they usually have give-a-ways!

I believe the Celebrity website has a link to apply for the card thru Bank of America. And there might be two types of cards, one with a fee and one without. We have the one without.

That CC is only good if you are the USA
Didn’t know. Good point. The OP appears to be in the US, so if they don’t already have the card, might be a way of earning some OBC, in addition to owning RCCL stock.

Correct! Sorry about that.

Be sure to get the $100 B2B credit taken off your fare for each cruise. Our TA applies it to ours. If you booked direct with Celebrity, reach out to them to get the credits.
-
Get the BAC Celebrity Visa credit card and cash in points from purchases (like your cruise fare) as OBC. And if you don’t spend it all on a cruise, it’s refundable back to your card. If you have both refundable and non-refundable on your account, Celebrity uses the non-refundable first.

Thanks, my wife loves Kendall Jackson regular Chardonnay
great! She’ll love Elegance!

I am a Chardonnay drinker. I find the Elegance Chard to be very good, and I order it regularly while onboard. The Elegance wines are made by Kendall Jackson and are EXCLUSIVE onboard Celebrity cruiseships. You cannot get these wines anywhere else. And I think they taste much better than a KJ chard, just my opinion. Once onboard, it's the first drink I request. They fit within the Premium drink pkg pricing.

I found that if you go on the App and then into Dining, Bars and Lounges, and select one of the bars, like World Class or Ensemble, you'll see drink selections and prices. The listing of options I would guess is not 100% comprehensive, but you can get an idea of prices.

That’s really sad. Perhaps we should write to the new President. Maybe it’ll make a difference?

We always enjoyed the Elite HH in the Sky Lounge. Wonderful opportunity to unwind, and to meet up with new friends before dinner, especially when we were not dining together. The CC rep would be so welcoming too, making a point to meet everyone. Made us feel Celebrity appreciated our loyalty, every night. Do hope we see it again, soon!
