Despite the fact that we live in Alaska we have done at least 6 Alaska cruises on Celebrity. On the Alaska itineraries dress is definitely more casual than on other Celebrity itineraries, with the exception of Antarctica. On evening chic nights I don't bother with a cocktail dress -- just black slacks and a sparkly top.
Thanks! Seeing you are from Fairbanks (I have a totally different question for you)... we are in Fairbanks overnight on our land tour. Any restaurant recommendations for dinner? Fancy, or just a local's place would be great.

Thanks for the comments. I am one that tends to overpack for evening wear (Chico's Travelers), bringing something different for each night. I know jeans are OK at dinner (we'll be in Blu) with a nice top. I'll figure it out, but just wanted to hear from anyone that has been on an Alaskan cruise and what they did or saw. Plus I am trying to cut down on luggage for this trip.

I tried to find a thread out there that addresses my question, but no luck.
So, what does Celebrity consider appropriate dress on an Alaskan cruise for dinner and any evening activities? I thought I saw remarks that jeans are acceptable in any dining areas 100% of the time. I am thinking we should take at least a couple nicer outfits for Chef's Table and the Evening Chic night. Any experiences or suggestions or recommendations? We've cruised on Celebrity numerous times, so we have a good understanding of the expected dress code for other itineraries, but not Alaska.

Thanks for the insight. Probably explains why my neighbor is receiving the benefits. He admits to being a big slot player, and frequently goes to our Seminole casinos here in South Florida.

Correct, your Captain's Club #.
Thanks. I will call. We are modest gamblers, always playing a bit of slots, blackjack and roulette on every cruise since 2017. We remain at Pearl, and have never received any offers from Blue Chip. My next door neighbor just started cruising on Celebrity this past year, and has received THREE significantly reduced cruise fare offers, including a Trans Atlantic. We must be missing something, unless the earlier comment about newbies is the answer.

when you call Blue Chip, do you simply need to have your CC number?

When are you on the Millie in August? We are too. The 4th Northbound and the 11th southbound. We were on the Panama Canal with you.
Hi there! So great to hear from you!!!!
Sadly, we never did meet up on the Panama Canal trip, but wasn't it amazing!
We are doing the Aug 18 northbound on Millie out of Vancouver. Guess we will pass each other as you get off the ship and we get on 🙂

Oops. Misspoke. .We are on Jan 3

Our dentist shared their experience on their Alaska cruise in an aft cabin. They said the ship would toss food items off the back of the ship daily, which created a fish feeding event. Let me know if you see or experience this. It was not on Celebrity.

We will be in 1140 on Millie in August. When you get settled, please share the names of the "expert speakers", the cruise director, and the captain. We have the same itinerary, just the opposite direction.
Bon voyage!

As previously mentioned, in 2018 we docked in Kobe. Took the Speed Train to Kyoto for the day, and then took the train to Osaka for a half day. I think we took a cab to the train station in Kobe.

I missed that - which ship(s) now have water slides on them?
Might be a reference to Coco Cay.

Not true in my husbands case. When he goes into his account, then clicks Find a Cruise, then clicks on Book Now, that brings up the accommodation page, but also the little person icon is there top right. If he clicks on the icon he can choose My Profile (which has the wrong loyalty information).
Yes, my mistake. I forgot about the fact that if you begin to set up a booking, you'll see your profile. Thanks for correcting me 🙂

My account has no "little person', neither does it have a "My Profile" link, or a "Club Programs" link.
I believe the only way you can see the "little person" is if you have a reservation on the books. Not sure of any other way to see your profile, which is definitely a flaw in the new website.

Not sure about how the number of Elites and up impacts this privilege, but on recent cruise, it was just me and DH who headed down to Cellar Masters, as instructed, where we, just the two of us, were immediately escorted to the front of the line.

Best bet is to check with your Captain's Club rep.

@CHEZMARYLOU did I misunderstand your statement about your Sept 2 cruise? Will the testing continue for your cruise or will it end prior to your departure date?

When I spoke to them I was told our September 2nd crise would be impacted by the test. Hopefully things are starting to turn back to normal, no smoking/vaping in any indoor venue.
I thought the test period was to end Aug 20.

Here's a thought....pack a small can of Lysol or other air freshener, and use it to counter the vaper and the smell. I don't see anything that prohibits this behavior.

Well, you seem to be a step ahead of us, almost 1300 points missing still in spite of sending
pre-transfer screen grabs.
Loyalty at Preview instead of Discoverer Plus.
Almost all was correct until several weeks after the transfer. (Points missing from February cruise.)
Good luck!
Same to you! I sent screen shots also. Based upon your remarks, I just lost a bit of hope.

Interestingly, now if I login and click on Manage My Reservation in one of my Upcoming Cruises, then on the little person icon top right, then on My Profile, then on Club Programs, it shows two Azamara Circle entries for me. One has the correct (old) loyalty number, level and points and the other has the incorrect information that’s been there almost since the transition.
Ours just show the new loyalty acct numbers and 0 points and Preview. I’ll wait a week and call.

I booked another cruise today, and now when I sign in to my account I can see both my upcoming cruises - before I couldn’t see any! Still haven’t got my loyalty level right though, but things do seem to be improving.
We too are waiting to get our Loyalty points reinstated from zero to nearly 1000. Supposedly someone in the Loyalty Dept is working on it 😞
Evening dress code for Alaskan cruise
in Celebrity Cruises

THANK YOU!!!!! I read about Pumphouse, so that just might be our choice! We are in Fairbanks at the end of August. I am about to start checking forecasts.
Again thank you and everyone for their thoughts about dress code for an Alaskan cruise. Very much appreciated.
