The ones that I have done have been well supported by NCL. Last one on Escape they served beer samples and hot appertizers.

I was on that cruise with you and you did an awsome job setting up the M&G

Was on Escape exactly one year ago today and I do remember a limited amount of umbrellas at Spice H2O.

It's a very nice space and we alternated between their and the area outside of Vibe on deck 19 on sea days.

I'm booked on Encore for Jan 2020 and sad that both of these spots apparently no longer exist.

The 1st time I was on the Escape, there were umbrella's at spice, but last year there were none..

Am I understanding you correctly, there will not be a Spice H2O on the Encore? What will take it's place?

Just off the Escape.  I don't remember seeing any umbrellas at Spice H2O.  It was very hot up there from mid-day on .  Just a heads up.  Even though the area is supposed to be adults only until the evening, there were still kids running around and no one told them to leave.  For the most part, they were pretty good.  However, I don't think there were a lot of school aged kids on this cruise.

    Thank you for the info

  4. Hi,  I was wondering if there are still no umbrellas up on Spice. The first trip I took on the Escape, There were big comfy chair & lots of umbrellas up on Spice. It was my favorite place to relax.. The next year there were lawn chairs & loungers and no umbrellas. The sun was unrelenting and I really didn't (couldn't) enjoy the space. Thanks for any info

  5. We have a balcony, how big is the coffee pot? Single serve or a small pot for like 2 cups? Can you bring an additional small pot on board for the room since there will be 3 in our room?

It's single serve. Coffee from room service is free for breakfast

  6. VERY upset still about this.... we were booked in a Suite on the Jade (booked last year in March) for the 4 of us... NCL won't move us to an Epic sailing b/c the "price difference is too high". Then why did they offer it as an option? After being on hold for over an hour someone took my phone number and said they would get back to me. I feel like crying. :(:(:(

If you don't get a positive result, I would call back until you get some one who "understands" that this IS one of your options, and then I would insist that they give you even more OBC for causing you to have to explain they're offer to them.

  7. We would simply cancel at that point. We have a great fare and decent promos....I would rather not go, than go and feel screwed. That would be a terrible way to begin a vacation.

Yes that would be a bummer. I hope I am wrong, but there have been some unpleasant changes lately, so who knows

  8. I'm confused....if name changes count as cancellations....can we still change the names of cabin guests up to the time we make final payment (with no penalties or other changes)? When I booked our next cruise, we used filler names to hold spots in the cabin. Those names will be changed before our cruise, and before final payment. That won't effect the reservation, right?

I'm wondering if it means that you would have to pay whatever the fair is when you do the change & lose the fair you had at the time you originally booked, and maybe lose your promo's.

  9. I think it is important as a consumer to advocate for not only myself, but potentially on behalf of others. Maybe this change doesn't have a negative impact on you. But maybe the next one WILL? And wouldn't it be preferred to have a community of like minded enthusiasts say this is a bum deal, as opposed to saying if you don't like it, go away (in a much nastier way that none of these people would dare use if face to face). Perhaps tomorrow it will be a loss of something you DO find important to your cruise experience and you had looked forward to. I don't believe that the only two options are love it or leave it. there is always middle ground and changes happen, but we must advocate for more value for our money, not less.

Those that stood up and said the food takeout policy was junk and that the continental breakfast offerings were junk were put down and others tried to run us out of town. Guess what? NCL reneged and improved those two policies/services. So perhaps with enough noise, applied to the right ears, they will reconsider this as well.

When I don't like something in life I don't run away.

Also, I appreciate the way in which you voice your opinions.

Well said, as always LMaxwell. :)

  10. 16oz compare to 4-5oz is not small cut of meat - do some people even what their lamenting over?

"Lamenting," really? What people do know, is if you want to eat that much...order 2 or 3 (for free)

    See the difference now?

  11.

Well, NCL listened about buffet take out and they listened about continental breakfast so perhaps they will listen about the Prime Rib in the MDR. So I do have some hope they will listen and react to Guest feedback.

"We the people" I hope they see this for the dumb idea it is & change it

  12. If it's a few items, that's not unusual. Cappuccino has always had an extra charge, as has soft drinks and alcohol. I know a couple of lines have a few items that are extra. I read the page you linked, but I wasn't going to read the entire thread, so all I saw was references to extra charge items but didn't actually see a menu with examples.

Actually, Cappuccino used to be free in the MDR as well as Lobster, now no more Prime Rib... what's next, I wonder?

  13. Considering Royal been doing selling steak and lobster in their MDRs for awhile - would you call that cruise line tacky too? Besides, at least now people don't have to go to Le Bistro or Cagney now to get lobster every night....

I'm calling the "behavior" tachy. Prime rib has been on the menu forever. Is it too much to ask to have something "nice" in the MDR included with my cruise fare?
