  1. I remember meeting Klaus on one of the inaugural sailing of the Gem back in 2007.  He came to the CC Meet and greet with some of the other officers.  He gave us his business card at the end with his direct phone number to call when things went well and didn’t go well.

Do you not understand it takes time to bring in staff and train them up?  This is not because they want to screw over families on spring break.

On the Epic there are at least already some kids staff onboard as they were running the family events and staffing the splash academy during its family open play times.

Can someone explain the odd bathroom set up? I booked the Epic out of San Juan Jan 2023, but didn’t really understand the bathroom situation…

Back when the Epic was being built NCL was trying out some design ideas in the cabins with the wave design and the bathrooms.  If I remember correctly the bathroom was broken up so multiple people could utilize different parts if they were all separate.

  4. The paper straws are not bad as long as you are not one that likes to take a while to finish a drink as your straw will collapse.

Here in Rhode Island, they just enacted a law that restaurants cannot give out plastic straws unless they are requested.  The Dunkin donuts near me have gone to a compostable straw that has the feel and durability of the plastic straw and also good for the environment.

  5. Here the info from the past week that we experienced on our 2/20/22 cruise:

Priscilla and Zambooka are still offline with “returning soon” stickers on their signs.

Entertainment in Epic Theatre included Epic Beatles, Magician, hypnotist, Burn the Floor, Barricade Boys (British broadway group, and Levity comedy comedians.

  6. here are the answers to questions I could do.

This past week had 1600 guests onboard.  Ships still feels like a ghost town which was great.  They kept saying this is the most they have had in a while.  It was the most kids they have had in 2+ years thanks to school vacation week.

we took all private shore excursions and had a great week.

with 5 ports we were not in our cabin a lot so extra balcony space was not worth it.

    Ice Bar is open

Splash Academy will have some open times but parents have to stay.  They have family events daily throughout the ship.

Sailings Update: Thank you for your unwavering support and patience during our recent announcements.
While we continue to redeploy our fleet worldwide, we are focused on delivering the safest and best vacations. In order to do so, we are revitalizing our vessels and elevating the guest experience on board with new offerings and product enhancements. Unfortunately, due to a significant revitalization aboard Norwegian Jewel, we have had to modify a few sailings and cancel the voyage scheduled for March 20, 2022.

As we continue to navigate the fluid public health environment, one thing is certain: delivering exceptional experiences, from ship to shore, requires maintaining the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we visit. For this reason, we have decided to delay the relaunch of Norwegian’s Pride of America, which means we must cancel all cruises aboard the vessel with embarkation dates through and including April 2, 2022.

  8. According to the NCL site, the message hasnt changed

Cruises with embarkation dates through February 28, 2022:
We strongly encourage all guests to take a COVID-19 PCR test within 96-hours prior to their sail date as an added precaution. If a PCR test is not readily available, then we encourage guests to at a minimum take a COVID-19 antigen test, prior to travel. Please note that many countries are now requiring this, and requirements vary based on guest nationality, so we strongly urge you to check the official website of the country you are flying with, connecting through, or sailing to before travelling in order to comply with their requirements.

    THIS.

if you offer double and triple points over an extended time, then you have to devalue the points or your program is saturated with elites. it's a classic loyalty program scam.

Back in the day they used to offer double/triple/quadruple on an everyday basis

    1 point for each day

1 extra point per day for booking the Latitude Inside Offer

1 extra point per day for booking 9 months or more in advance

1 extra point per day for booking suites

I was regularly getting 21-28 points a cruise.

  10. I am on the Epic in February in a category M4 Club Balcony with 4 people.

The other day I got my upgrade email and most of the cabins they offered, we can't fit in as they can only hold 2.

    Cabins for up to two

    Haven Spa Suite H9- $600-$2100

    Haven Courtyard Penthouse HF $600-$2100

    Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse HC $600-$2100

    Cabins for up to three

    Spa Club Balcony: $125-$450

    Options for 4+ people

    Haven 2BD Family Villa H6 -$800-$3200

    Haven DSO H2 $1100-$3600

The Haven 2 Bedroom is currently selling for $3700 above my cabin price and the Haven DSO is $8850 above my cabin price.

  11.

Got this in an email this morning:

Beginning January 17, 2022, we will eliminate COVID-19 testing at the terminal and instead require guests to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result at least two calendar days prior to boarding for cruises originating in a U.S. port and at least three calendar days prior for cruises departing from a non-U.S. port. The COVID-19 antigen or PCR test must be administered by a verified third party.

  12. Just saw this. We have a flight next year leaving Seattle at 7.20pm after disembarking a cruise. Is there a port service which will send on our luggage to the airport while we spend a bit of time in Seattle before the flight?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

There are certain airlines that have a cutoff time on the back end. I want to say it Southwest that they do not accept luggage for any flights after 6pm
