  1. Thank you so much. I just wanted to make sure no one would think “OMG didn’t she wear that the other night”??!!! But, truth be told…who cares??!!
  2. I want to pack much lighter as I consistently overpack. I am always sure I need an outfit for every single night but I end up re-wearing certain clothes. After all, I shower after the day out and wear my dinner outfit a few hours at most. I want to bring a couple of sun type dresses and rewear them. I know it’s easy to bring black and white slacks/capris and change up the tops. But what about dresses?
  3. Can you stand one more question regarding the points and upgrading to a balcony? If so, I use a TA. I booked an Oceanview on an 11 night cruise. Final payment is due next month. Since I’ll get triple points paying the cruise with the CC I’ll then reach the 30,000 points needed to upgrade to a balcony. I know I have to call Norwegian myself to do this. Or is it the CC company? Does my TA lose her commission? If I have any problems is she still able to help me? Not problems with room upgrade per se, just let’s say I have an issue and one of us gets sick and we have to cancel (yes, we have insurance, actually we take it out from her company). Thank you for all clarifications
  4. Thank you for your quick reply. Planning can be overwhelming but so worth it when the trip all comes together!
  5. Thank you so much for such a detailed and informative review. My husband and I are in the planning stage of our Alaska cruise. We’d like to go next June. But so many people say to do the one way and then the RR tour and Denali tour. But it didn’t seem like you felt you missed out on that. We are from the east coast, small town not near a major airport. The return flights total 20-24 hours. We’d just as soon fly to/from Seattle. Opinion??
  6. Congratulations! I love hearing reading these positive posts. I booked an Oceanview because the balcony for 2 of us was additional $2000. I can go on another cruise for that. I keep checking but no change yet. Fingers crossed eventually it will
  7. Kjquilts, Thank you for the explanation 😀
  8. This says 2 speciality dining for Balcony of 11 days
  9. As I’ve stated I’m new to NCL. I recently took out the CC and am planning on having enough points (30,000) to get an upgrade from an Oceanview to a balcony. I use a TA. I’m assuming that I have to take care of this upgrade myself by calling NCL. Also, if the current special has only (1) speciality dining for an Oceanview, and (2) for a balcony, would I now get two? my room is an OA class and I’m traveling late January. I won’t have these points until October as I get triple points using the CC for NCL purchases and I plan on using CC for my final payment which will bring me to the 30,000 points. Hopeful the ship will still have balconies available to upgrade to Thank you. If there’s anything else you can enlighten me with please do!
  10. Thank you, yes I’m booked in an OA. 😀
  11. I am new to NCL and booked an 11 night Caribbean cruise. I also took out the CC and will definitely have at least 30,000 miles by cruise time. I booked an ocean view cabin because the balcony was $2000 more for the 2 of us. But, according to the rewards page, I can upgrade to a balcony for 30,000 points. Is this correct?
  12. Mine is only $20 difference from 70% off second guest to 40% off both. We’re going 11 days to Caribbean in January. This is our first NCL cruise. We have mostly sailed on Princess and RCI but like this itinerary. And we wanted to try NCL as we have good friends that like this cruise line. But, we agree that the pricing isn’t very competitive.
  13. What exactly does it mean “ a variety of beverages by the glass”? We like wine and speciality drinks like Pina Coladas etc. $98 per day per couple to upgrade seems like a lot for our 11 night cruise. Additional $1100. Doesn’t seem worth it. I believe my TA must’ve been running a special because my quote states 3 speciality dinings and we’re in an ocean view which NCL states only one speciality dining per stateroom
  14. This video was perfect bThank you so much!!
  15. I know many NCL ships have Starbucks. Does the Dawn? I’m new to NCL and cannot locate this info. Thank you
  16. First time with NCL. Some articles say NCL offers a Veterans discount. Others say it’s discontinued. Anyone with the correct info? And where do you take off the amount? Or do they offer it in way of OBC? Thank you
  17. Thank you for these replies. We recently did a B2B Caribbean and I wore the same pair of capris 4 times in the evenings. They were so comfy and as you have all stated, you wear them for a few hours. I honestly didn’t care if anyone noticed. I appreciate all of your responses
  18. Hi, I’m desperately trying to pack as light as possible for a European cruise (western). We will spend 3 days prior in Rome and take a 7 day cruise. This is early June so warm weather items with also pants, light jacket and a sweater or 2. Biggest question…I’m used to Caribbean cruises where I’m in a bathing suit by day, shower and get changed for dinner. Even if it’s just a casual dinner night of capris, sundress, etc. On the Mediterranean cruise, we will mostly be out doing excursions all day. So that’s an outfit right there. Then coming back to ship for dinner do you all change? Are you sweaty, etc from touring all day and freshen up? If so, that’s double the amount of clothes I’ll need. please don’t suggest sending things to be laundered. I bring enough undergarments but my shirts, dresses, pants I hang to dry so it won’t help me. just curious so I can pack as light as possible.
  19. I have Verizon. They informed me that I can get an international plan for $20 for the month and use that for calling home. I’m curious why everyone gets SIM cards? Is it for data? Would I be able to get free WiFi places? Thanks for educating me. I’m not as savvy electronically as some others!
  20. I never gave this any thought, but I recently read somewhere that people don’t take their wedding rings and engagement rings on cruises. We’re going to eastern and western Caribbean. We don’t scuba dive or snorkel. Mostly go to local beaches/beach clubs and bars near ports. I never take my rings off. Now I’m debating whether or not to take them.
