  1. Celebrity is one of the few lines you can purchase different drinks packages if sharing a cabin.

My wife stuck to the 'included' Classic package last time as she does not drink a lot of alcohol nor is particularly fussed over quality, whilst I upgraded to Premium. This worked perfectly for us. We have done the same for our cruise next year.

No, you CANNOT purchase drinks for others using your premium card but your partner can pay the difference if they fancy a particular drink that is over their Classic limit. My wife tried a cocktail in the Silhouette's 'World Class Bar' and paid the extra couple of dollars.

  2. I have upgraded my drinks package from Classic to Premium. In the main restaurant on our last cruise aboard Silhouette the sommelier offered each table the choice of red, white or rose wines by the glass. As I now possess a premier drinks package am I able to ask for a better quality Pinot Grigio for example with my meals or am I still only able to drink the standard wines that are brought around?
I am aware you can buy bottles of wine at 20% discount but this would obviously cost extra over and above my Premium package.
Same question applies when in the theatre. Am I able to ask the wine waiter / waitress for a superior Pinot Grigio which would be covered by my Premium package and how would I know which wines were available by the glass?
Your help would really be appreciated.

  3. We have a concierge cabin this time and have a fairly tight time-line to meet our privately organised tour at our first port of call. Problem is this port is tendered. We know with concierge there is priority embarkation at ports and Celebrity have vaguely said this applies to disembarkation in port as well.
Is this actually the case?  How does it work? Would there be a separate exit?

  4. Can anybody recommend a company that provides shore excursions from Seville port itself please?

I have found several perfect day tours but they all leave from the port of Cadiz. Specifically we would like to include Alcazar in our itinerary.

We are cruising on the Braemar next June which is small enough to dock right in the heart of Seville. Experience has taught us local tour businesses are far superior (and cheaper) than excursions provided by the cruise-lines.

Any other Seville tips would be much appreciated, we are there for two days.

  5. After a lot of research we ended up booking the deluxe 3 day package with SPB.

Smaller groups, nippier air-conditioned vehicles, superior itinery and very experienced local tour guides were the main considerations and although the pricing was similar to our cruise lines we were able to negotiate excellent deals for other ports of call following on from this booking. This on top of the 'special price' offered to Cruise Critic members.

So far every communication and query has been answered quickly and informatively by SPB.

Will write a review post cruise.

  6. I would have thought games will be shown, I've been on cruises with Celebrity during the Lions Rugby Tour, premier league football games are shown, the CONCACAF tournament games were on last year when were on our Baltic cruise and the World Junior championships of various age levels were shown.

Major games will be shown in the Passport Bar/Cellar Masters and also in the casino, they had the rugby game on in Celebrity Central, you can always watch in your room too.

We asked for some TVs to have channels changed to show football games in the past in Cellar Masters (they were showing golf at the time), all we did was ask if people minded if we changed over, they were fine about it.

The only potential issue may be weather/location might affect signal coverage.

    Great information.

    Cheers Leehal

  7. Has anybody been on a Sigtuna excursion whilst stopping in Stockholm?

We are wandering whether to take the "Stockholm Highlights tour" or spend less time actually looking around Stockholm and do the "Historic Stockholm and Sigtuna" tour.

    (Both include visiting the Vasa).

Basically, is it worth sacrificing time in Stockholm to visit Sigtuna?
