  1. So, we decided at pretty much the last minute to do a shore excursion today. We booked it on Saturday afternoon, as my partner pointed out with no plans on any day we'd drive each other crazy. There weren't a ton of options, so we settled on a morning excursion to Peggy's Cove. Here is the full description:
  2. Just got back from a long day in port - I do like Halifax quite a bit.
  3. We only waiting about half an hour - luckily, this is a short excursion and they promised they'd make up the time, so all should be well.
  4. Other folks are not taking it well ... Then again, they also weren't the volume of the guide's narration well before we stalled out, so there is that. I think the volume is almost painful loud, but maybe that's just me.
  5. A rescue coach has been sent .... My partner and I are finding this really quite amusing (because, honestly, what else can we do).
  6. Currently, we are on our way on a shore excursion to Peggy's Cove. Except our bus is stalled. In the middle of a rotary (roundabout) ....
  7. Good morning from Canada! Balcony pictures: Ship location (more or less):
  8. We got 24 points, and the winning team got 25. Cliff was running it.
  9. Dinner was good - nothing really stood out as a must have, but I enjoyed what I ordered. Artichoke and carrot soup: Sole: Creme brulee (this was fantastic):
  10. I went to the Q&A about Halifax - it was beyond standing room only. I appreciated it as a quick overview, but I was a bit surprised that there was no mention of shore excursions or anything outside of the seaport area.
  11. This is maybe an hour and half outside of Bar Harbor - heading at 19 knots towards Halifax.
  12. Okay ... Why doesn't every ship have a taco bar ... That was fantastic (and like all Tex-Mex, does not look half as good as it tastes) ....
  13. And then we tendered back - it was a very short wait for a tender to arrive. Also, there is a large, cleanish restroom facility right at the tender dock.
  14. We got ice cream and Jordan Pond Ice Cream and Fudge on Main St. The mocha Oreo was really good, and the portions (and prices) are large. Very, very randomly, I ran into one of my coworkers and her kids that were in Bar Harbor for the weekend.
  15. We did a big loop, including walking down to where the sandbar is that you can walk across at low tide (which, of course, it wasn't):
