  1. I'm really liking all of you who have answered my original post and the subsequent ones posted by others.  You all have been so helpful with no snarky answers like on some of the other boards.  So much so in fact, I'm going to ask another question here instead of on my Roll Call where it should probably go.

My friend and I are are booked on the Reflection on the 11/29 sailing.  It will be our first time on a Celebrity cruise.  What do you all recommend for things we must not miss on the ship?  Things to do? Places to see?  Places to eat?  Food that's not to be missed?  Excursions that are well worth it?  All in insider tips that regular cruisers would know and a newbie wouldn't.

  2. For anyone who is curious, according to my TA, the OBC dollar amount I am seeing is per cabin.  So at some point we'll have to find out how and when they plan on putting half on each one of our accounts.  And he did also say that the OBC credit from him would show up in our accounts about a week before we sail.

I'd advise that you call Captains Club for clarification. Also I'd suggest that your friend check the other account and see what's showing there. Did you book direct with X or with a TA? If you booked with a TA and got additional OBC from them, that will most likely not show up until you're on board and may take up to 3 days (although we usually see it much more quickly).

We booked with a TA.  The TA is actually a friend of ours and will be on the cruise with us.  They were already booked and invited us to join them.  We've never been on a Celebrity cruise so it was a perfect opportunity to try them out.

  4. The drunken rampage comment was a total joke.  We are on the same booking but we pay for all our own stuff separately.  Once on board everything we buy goes onto our own credit cards.  Since the OBC amount I was seeing is too high if it's just for me and too low if it's for the both of us, I just thought some of the experienced cruisers here may have cruised with a friend before and would know if the credit amount I was seeing was just for me or spit between the two of us.

  5. I just logged in to my Celebrity account to check my booking.  It shows my on board credit.  Actually it is showing more than my on board credit.  So my question is, is the OBC amount I am seeing under my account including my friend's as well?  If this is the case then the OBC amount is too low.  I'm just kind of confused.  Does my account only show my amount and her account will only show her amount?  Or would the number I am seeing be for both of us and we are supposed to split it?

    TIA

  6. Since you all are so knowledgeable I am going to ask my next question here before I post to the general board!!!!

On Celebrity,  if you select a drink package as one of your perks, do you have to pay anything additional for gratuities?  I know we can either tip or add a tip as we are getting beverages from a bar.  Someone was trying to tell us that if  you select the drink package as one of your perks, that an 18%  gratuity is added to each beverage "purchase" and will be added to your onboard account.  So conceivably if I were to drink $1000 of liquor on my cruise I would have to pay another $180 on my account at the end.

I've seen conflicting answers on this issue on the message board.

  7. My friend and I are going to book a Celebrity cruise for later in the year on the Reflection in the Aqua class.  We have a few question on how things work.

    1. Can we have them empty everything out of the minibar for us?  We want to put out own things in it.

    2.  Since we will be getting priority dinner reservations, can we make a reservation to include our friends who will not be aqua class. They will be in just a balcony room.

    3.  Can we make reservations in BLU and take them with us as well?

    4.  Is it true we have to pay for gelato?  ;)

Looking forward to learning from all you!!!!!

  8. I'm trying to decide what I want to do about a beverage package for my upcoming cruise and I have a few questions. Do I need to have that souvenir cup with me to get a soda or do they place a sticker or something on my Sea Pass? How does that work if I'm using a WOW band? Do they have a portable scanner or will I have to take it off my wrist every time I order a soda? The refreshment package says it included premium coffees. What's considered a premium coffee? Is that coffee anywhere like the cafes and dining rooms except for the Starbucks? I originally ordered a 24 case of water for my room. Since bottled water is included in the refreshment package, I'm thinking I may be better off to upgrade to the refreshment package. Then I could have soda, water and coffee.

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm really learning alot from reading all these boards!!
