  1. I was trying to start a new thread for this question but I can't seem to figure out that option. My friend (whose never cruised before) and I (one time before) are going in a week and a half. We have a 3rd floor oceanview room (no balcony...sad) and since neither one of us our big on the high octane excursions, we'll be lo-key. The south beach on CocoCay sounds interesting as does the chocolatier tour on Nassau. My main question is when to do the Chef's Table so it doesn't conflict with the Captains dinner. Any Advice on those? And we also saw on RC website talk of a murder mystery dinner which is so right up our alley (honestly if the whole boat was devoted to it I could get a group to go!!) I can't find any real sign up or information about this boat event. Does anyone know of it??

And sorry for kinda hijacking your thread - I just didn't know where else to put the question!

I don't remember a murder mystery dinner on Majesty last month.

I didn't do the other 2 dinners so hopefully someone else can help you with that. Sorry!

We didn't do excursions either, we just enjoyed the beaches and walked around. I hope you have a wonderful time!

  2. Hi! Are there bathrooms at South Beach? I read that they were going to add them soon, but wasn't sure when that article was from.

Also, does SB have cabanas near the water or just loungers? There are 3 of us traveling in my group, so I'm wondering what the best plan is (we are very fair-skinned and need shade!) Thanks!

Yes, there was a bathroom. It was next to where the tram stopped to pick up/drop off.

They have chairs you could rent that had the clam shell umbrella which we rented but the time of day we were there, they didn't really offer much shade but it was enough to keep my face out of the sun (which is always the first thing to burn on me lol). There were plenty of chairs available in the shade. They also had the big beds you could rent down the beach a little further, not sure what they are called. I don't have a good picture of the beds but in this picture they are off to the right in the picture, pretty close to the water. The 2nd picture is what we rented to attempt to have some shade. lol

  3. We sailed on Majesty last month. We had a lot of fun. All the staff we dealt with were amazing. We had an oceanview room on deck 3. Yes, it was small but it was comfortable. We were only in our room to sleep and shower so it was fine for us. We ate in the dining room every night, the food was pretty good. We LOVED CocoCay, go down to South Beach. South Beach has a bar in the water, it was pretty cool. At night we hung out in Schooners, we enjoyed the piano player. The pool deck was fun too. I'm sure you will have a great time, if you have any specific questions, let me know. :)

  4. NCL's beverage package price is a joke, considering it is crazy expensive and excludes so much. The reality is I don't think anyone actually buys it, nor do they expect anyone too. They have included in the price of the cruise for a couple years now with just the 18% added service charge. So to me that's what the high price tag is for, to drive that service charge up. But I'm as long as I find a cruise with rates I'm willing to pay, adding in the bev package for an extra $14 a day is a decent deal.

I agree with this. I had the same theory about the high price. They have to make money somehow since most people get the drink package as a perk. Totally worth it tho. For $200 my husband and I will have a drink package for the whole week, we sailed last month with RCCL and paid $430 for 3 days.

  5. I just booked a cruise on the Majesty of the Seas for 7/17 out of Port Canaveral for my husband and I, as well as one of our friends. We are in our late 20's/early 30's.

My husband was checking out the ship after I made the reservation and said it looked boring. How can a cruise ship be boring?! I know there's a rock climbing wall, a walking track, and pools/hot tubs, but what else is there to do during our cruise day/night (that doesn't cost extra)? We're not big drinkers.

Are there any shows on this ship? The man I spoke to when booking the trip said to make a reservation for any shows we might like, but we didn't see anything listed on the site?

Hoping I didn't make a mistake booking this cruise. It's my first time cruising as an adult and their first times ever cruising.

    Thanks!

We were on Majesty last month. It was our first cruise and we had a lot of fun. We enjoyed Schooners at night, the piano player was good and took requests. We had an outside cabin and it was small but it was comfortable. We were only in the room to sleep and shower. The staff on the ship were fantastic. We had a great time and I am sure you will too.

  6. I don't have pictures of our cups but we sailed on Majesty last month and got 2 cups. One had Santa on it and the other I think had snowflakes on it. Of course, these aren't a good example since they were seasonal. They are nice cups tho. We never used them on the ship tho, we don't drink soda. I can post pictures when I get home later.

    Here they are...

    We sailed 12/2-12/5

  8. I second the bushwacker's at Tacky Jack's. We used to go there every weekend in the late 90's and those bushwacker's are to die for!

    Sounds amazing!! Yum!

On another NCL ship, we saw the sign for the "clothing optional" deck. Hubby said he was going to check it out. I told him I did not care, BUT, if he was going up there, to be fair, he needed to drop his swim suit at the top of the stairs. He never went.

    Sounds fair to me, lol!

  9. DH and I were on this same cruise with you, so far everything you have written about it is a ditto from us, DH had a hard time shaving by the dim light over the sink.

We had the Epic booked again for Mar. 2017 but I canceled it when we got home, I also already had it booked for Dec. 2017 as we are only 1 1/2 hrs from PC, hopefully by then we will have forgotten what we didn't like and give her another try.:)

When in December are you going? December 9th will be our first time on the Epic.

  10. Ship - Majesty of the Seas

    Deck - 3

    Stateroom # - 3600

    Stateroom Category – Outside

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, the room was quiet. No issues with noise at all.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – n/a

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a

    Was wind a problem? - n/a

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - The AC didn't seem to work as well as it should have. Most nights we slept either uncovered with with just a sheet because it was too warm for us. The water pressure in the shower was terrible too. The electrical outlets were loose, had to put something under what was charging so it didn't pull the charger out of the wall.

Any other comments? - The room was small but comfortable. For as much as we were in there, it was fine.
