  1. Gilly, we still haven't received anything from Regent, but have my previous Regent luggage tags and will take some of the old fashioned luggage tags with me to attach and write what deck and cabin we are in. Unfortunately I'm not au fait with the colours for the decks, so am unable to colour co-ordinate.

Hope they sort it out before your next cruise.

We used an online TA. Received our tags.

We are in the UK and also on the Voyager cruise and have received nothing up to now but I'm going to take a luggage label with our suite number and deck on it and attach it when we leave the hotel.

A very useful guide for new Regent cruisers, I wish it had been on here before we went in February!! I can add a minor point to this resource too. When we were getting our suite cards at Miami port, we were asked for ESTA certificates, ie the visa we need to enter USA. These are electronically linked to our UK passports and are not in hard copy. Luckily, we had taken the confirmation email with us, which was accepted. Might be useful for non US residents.

Hi we are in the UK and you are now advised to print your Esta off once it has been authorised, but I must admit we weren't asked for ours in 2019 so it could be something new.

  4. We are in the UK and are sailing in two weeks time and so far have done everything online and haven't received anything through the post from Regent.

I'm hoping we get luggage tags for boarding the ship at the pre cruise hotel.

  5. Our flight back from Tahiti was around midnight. There was the option of being taken to a hotel for the day and then onto the airport later.

We booked a night (cheaper than a day room) in a hotel ourselves. Spent the day at the pool. Walked down the road for dinner, back to the room to relax and shower before a taxi to the airport.

Was well worth the little it cost to not have to stress out before the 1st of two night flights home.

What's a Ffp2 mask? Are you sure about having to take an organized tour in Italy?

Vai, a Ffp2 mask is also a NR95 and that info was direct from both the UK government travel information and Italy's travel requirements.

The not going ashore information was sent a couple of days from Regent

Wearing a mask for 5 days as you cross the Atlantic...makes a lot of sense...NOT!  The ship is in international waters during those days, so why should the EU even have a say in the matter?  🙄

The EU goes one further in saying that individual members can adopt their own rules.

It is only because I did some research that I discovered that Italy requires you to wear a Ffp2 mask when flying into their country.

We fly into Italy, and have a night in a hotel and are free to do what we like but once we board the ship we cannot go ashore unless on an organised tour, I really don't get that logic, but these are the rules we must follow.

    Hi Boatlady,

The way I am reading this, it is relaxing the need for testing for fully vaccinated outside of the EU, however the papers slant is biased to UK tourists. Hopefully this will be a general rule for all fully vaccinated irrespective of country of origin. My understanding previous to this there was no requirement for testing of EU nationals to move between the various EU countries subject to being vaccinated. We are waiting with bated breath for the outcome.

I have read this morning that Italy will update on the 15th March, so that gives us 10 days.

We are now getting organised, like confirming the cats stay in the cattery, getting some euros for incidentals, have brought some FFP2 masks as Italy requires them worn on flights and thinking about clothes. We are thinking layers.

Beginning to believe this cruise will go 😀

  9. This may be a very stupid question, but we are in a Penthouse Suite on our cruise next month and have seen that we get free pressing on the first night.

Not that we will have a lot, but is there a limit to how many items you can send to be pressed?

    Thanks

  10. This might seem an odd question, but at the moment, UK citizens aren't allowed into France.

If this continues our Rome to Barcelona cruise has 3 stops at French ports [two on mainland France and a French Island]

We have paid for a Regent Choice excursion at one of these stops, so would we get a refund if we are still not allowed ashore?

It is very disturbing considering the value of an FCC that you might push down the road a year or two only to find that NCLH doesn't survive this.  But keep the faith...it'll all work out.  😎

Our cruise isn't till this time next year so not panicking but we stand to lose much more than $100.

In the UK, the deposit due is 20% of the total cost and that deposit is non refundable!!

Wow, did you have to share a table with other people or were you in the Owner's Suite? We have cruised twice on Regent, once on Mariner, and once on Voyager, and have 2 more cruises booked.

We were able to get a second dinner at Chartreuse on Mariner through the Maitre' D at Chartreuse. We had already been turned down for a second reservation at the restaurant reservation desk, and by the Prime 7 Maitre D'.  We were unable to get a second reservation at either restaurant on our recent Med cruise. We were offered a second reservation at Chartreuse, but only if we didn't mind sharing a table with whoever else wanted another reservation. We turned that down. Sometimes you have an enjoyable experience with people you don't know, and other times, it's not worth it.

We are in a Penthouse Suite for 32 nights on our next Regent Cruise on Voyager. We aren't sure how many reservations we get to make ahead of time. It's a back to back cruise so we think we get one at each restaurant for each segment,  but we won't bother trying for anymore. It's not worth it. If we get bored with the main restaurant for dinner (which we didn't on the previous 2 cruises), we'll just eat in our cabin.

No, we weren't in a top suite and as this was our first cruise, we were only bronze tier.

Twice we dined by ourselves and the other two times, we dined with other couples.

As our suite also wasn't high enough for a butler, we just went to the restaurant and asked the Maitre D' if there was any availability on the night we were interested in.

  13. We too took our first Regent cruise on The Navigator this year [we are also from the UK] and loved the whole Regent Experience.

So hope you too have a fab cruise.

We booked a Prime 7 reservation early on in our cruise, with the view or getting a second reservation and in the end, had 4 fabulous meals in Prime Seven.

I couldn't decide between the bone in prime rib, or the seafood and our waiter suggested that I ordered an appetiser portion of the seafood, so I did.

Most entrees can be done as an appetiser, so don't be afraid to ask.
