Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were just there last week. Sailed on the Joy at full capacity. We drove in and parked right at the pier, which was expensive but worth it because it was so easy. The actual terminal is nice. Like an airport, not like a car garage like someone else said. Get there early or get there late. We arrived at 9:30 am and we were onboard about a half hour after they started boarding at 11. The check in process was efficient because they break you up into groups of what deck you are on so you aren't waiting to check in with everyone else on the ship. Once checked in, it get chaotic because most people weren't given a boarding group pass and we all had to find someone to get one. You could not board without a boarding pass sign, so be sure to get one. The actual check in took us about 20 minutes in line though, so i don't think it was that bad. Of course the higher levels, Haven and priority boarded first but that was really fast. Aside from it not being well organized and us not knowing how it worked, it was fine. No complaints. Now we know to get there early (like we did) and get a boarding pass right away at the counter.
  2. Does anyone know if you can walk from the caves and swizzle inn to the blue hole park? How far is it?
  3. Thank you for that info. Yes, that cruise first promo is exactly what we book with...we paid $250 and it doubled. So, I'm sure I would lose that.
  4. I've never canceled and rebooked before, so please excuse me if this is a silly question. We booked our August Bermuda cruise out of NYC back in December. It wasn't cheap. Final payment has come and gone so now the price has significantly gone down...almost $2000 less for our balcony room. I'm in penalty, so my fee would be about $960, leaving me with a savings of just about $1000. To me it seems like a no-brainer to cancel and rebook but is there anything I'm not thinking of that would make this NOT a good idea? Perks are the same it seems other than it looking like we booked with a promo that had a cruise first certificate attached to it (not sure, we didn't have a certificate so it must have been a promo). Am I missing something that I should consider before rebooking? Thanks all!
  5. Is there a place to get a 6-pack of cold beer around the Naval Dockyard area? I'd love to be able to bring a few cold ones in a backpack cooler to have during a day of exploring the beaches and paths 🙂
