Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. @LHT28 That was me. We just got back yesterday. We arrived at the port around 4:00 p.m. Our taxi drove right up to the ship. We were quickly processed and went to our room. Bags arrived shortly after. We noticed that people arriving after us had a long way to walk with their bags. There was no shuttle at that time. Someone later told us that not all taxi drivers have the proper credentials to drive right up to the ship so they are let off at the gate by the road. We definitely lucked out with our driver. We had no idea. In relation to other threads about time changes, food shortages etc. Sirena arrived and departed at the times noted on the itinerary. The only very minor change was we had to tender instead of dock at one port. I can't remember which one. I didn't notice anything missing except maybe hot sauce. Lots of jam! @JoePDX We were on deck 7 as well. If Patricia is your room steward you will be very pleased. She is on top of everything.
  2. I spoke to Oceania today. They suggested I contact the ground representative to make sure someone will be there if we board late. The embarkation port information is supposed to be emailed within 21 days of departure. We haven't seen it yet but our TA is on it. @LHT28 the port is Aruba. We are arriving a day early and are hoping to spend the day on the beach. Fingers crossed.
  3. We did online check-in today for a cruise in a few weeks. For embarkation time our only option was 11:00 a.m. Our plan is to embark around 5 p.m. The ship (Sirena) doesn't leave port until 11:00 p.m. Is it best to just show up at 5:00 p.m. or should we notify someone and if we should, who? Thanks.
  4. @LHT28 your post gave me the idea to check each of the four segments on this cruise. No luck. Thanks @osandomir I will have a look. Still surprised as this cruise is considered a "grand voyage" but will know for next time. Thanks all.
  5. According to my TA who contacted Oceania, there are no overland tours for this cruise. I am a little surprised and disappointed, but am sure it will be a great cruise nevertheless.
  6. Thanks for your replies. There is nothing listed under manage my account/land options. I will definitely contact my TA and see if she can help. Thanks again.
  7. We are booked on a 58 day Tokyo to Barcelona next year on Riviera. We have 2 days in Egypt and 5 days in Israel. I assume there will be an opportunity for overland tours but nothing is showing for our cruise yet. Does anyone have experience in the timing of when these tours might show up on our booking? Although the cruise is more than a year away, the 365 day mark for booking tours is this April and I understand that overlands can go quickly and would like to be prepared. Also, thanks to everyone on this forum for all of your valuable information.
