  1. The price for the social media package is per account, not per cabin. Depending on how "connected" you need or want to be, multiple people can use one account - just not at the same time. If someone logs into the account when someone on another device is already logged in, it kicks the person already logged in off.

At $5/day, Hubby and I mainly use the social media package as an inexpensive way to communicate with family back home through either FB messenger or imessage. It isn't necessary for us both to be connected constantly, so we always share an account and just tell family to be sure to message us both in an emergency since we have no idea which of us would be connected at any given time. So far, it's worked great without problems. We even shared the account on one cruise with our teenage son and had no problems.

Hey, so iMessage worked on the $5 plan? Oh, interesting

  2. We were recently on Conquest, which does not have a Serenity Deck. We did not miss it at all, because the aft lido pool is adult only. Two hot tubs and plenty of lounge chairs (as well as table and chairs in the shade around the deck -DH likes the shade, while I enjoy the hot tub, so this is perfect for us.) A bar is located there as well as strolling waiters. And a retractable roof for when weather is bad. Much preferable to a "too-sunny" Serenity deck.

    Awesome, thank you!

  3. No, even with assistive devices, we had adhere to our assigned staggered boarding time.

If you have special boarding due to disability..are you allowed in before the "assigned" check in time?

When we did the special boarding without the staggered, we were able to walk straight in and we were on the boat within minutes.

  4. Hi all,

Did a quick search and didn't find this addressed anywhere. (I apologize if this is a double post)

Both cruises I have been on have had Serenity Decks. One was in winter, and we had 2 hot tubs, one in April had a pool and hot tub... I'm beginning to think that this has spoiled me a bit. - (And the yellow towels!)

I've got a February cruise on a boat without the Serenity Deck - what is normal protocol? Is there an unspoken rule or etiquette? How do you cope without this privilege? Am I over reacting?

    Thanks, P

  5. Hi, We did this for the first time last year, and we arrived 'early' for our 12:00 time. We had to wait until 12:00 - they had a little drink cart 'lounge'. I appreciate that they made us stick to ur time, and it was fast and easy. Luckily we live within a two hours of the port, so we are flexible on our arrival time.

Although on this same trip we got our luggage VERY late, and that was not convenient.

If we had had a 3:00pm time, I'd be a little more miffed. We did purchase a Faster to the Fun pass for our February cruise to test the quick luggage and dining time things.

I'm pro-assigned boarding times in short.

  6. We've gotten this for the first time for our February cruise. The last time we cruised our luggage arrived to our room after 7pm. With a 12:00 boarding time, it was slightly inconvenient. So trying it this time, if it wasn't worth it we will know for future trips.

  7. Yes, you can totally pre-purchase, and there is savings when you pre-purchase. It's almost the saving of a whole day of the package when you add the $5.00 per day and the 10% gratuity. You can pre-purchase from the carnival website.

Hey, we are travelling on a cruise with the Carnival Spirit, can anyone tell me if you can pre purchase drink packages- either soft drinks or alcohol.Or both ?? Perhaps you are able to purchase packages on board? Travelled with Norwegian Lines previously and it wasn`t applicable. Thanks for your help
  8. Yes it is, wait time is between all drinks - the computer program is actually programmed to only allow one purchase under the CHEERS at a time. The computer's POS program keeps the time.

i'm not 100% positive on this answer but i believe you would have to wait 5 minutes also even for gatorades, vitamin water, etc. i think thats just the CHEERS purchasing system and not just true for alcohol.
  9. Yes, you can can purchase it on 2nd/3rd day - whatever day - we have always saved money by purchasing the 'ahead of time price' as the savings pays for almost one day of the program. I've never reached my 15 limit, but my 7 or 8 through out the whole day is less than my 49.00+

Quick question? Can you purchase Cheers on the second day of your cruise? Cruising from Miami. Thanks!!
  10. Haha! We bring teabags and just tuck into our nalagene bottle, sunshine time on the Lido makes great unsweet 'brewed' tea!

With Carnival cruises we bring our slim and compact 2 quart rubbermaid pitcher and use tea bags to make our own tea to serve over ice. We use the water at the beverage station filling our pitcher by only using the clean cups provided. It steeps in a couple of hours. This is much fresher and cleaner tasting than the tea made from a liquid concentrate dispensed at the beverage stations provided by Carnival. We don't drink sweet tea so that's a non-starter for us.

FWIW, there's no drama with us, we find our own easy solution which is known as taking personal responsibility by some.
