In most restaurants (MDR and Specialty) you can order specialty coffees that would be billed to your onboard account.
Thanks!! I mistakenly thought all of you meant I'd have to trek to Starbucks whenever I wanted a specialty coffee! In reality, I do like a latte here and there, but usually NOT from Starbucks. lol
-
I understand that Starbuck's is not included in the basic drink package. Is Starbuck's the only place on the ship to get a specialty coffee? On many other lines, you could order a latte at other areas (and use OBC).

For those that have booked as soon as they board, where? Guest services, the app, stateroom TV, or butler or concierge (if YC)? I wasn't aware dining reservations couldn't be made prior to cruise.

Lol. Many of the attitudes displayed here are why I sailed with this line once, and not again. While the food, staff, service and MOST guests were great, there were just a few too many with this attitude. To me, that is not worth $1000/day. While I can dress for dinner, it does not hinder MY vacation one bit if the table next to me is in jeans. Who cares? To each their own

In the YC, there were a few free selections, a few 4$ selections (Ghostbusters...Highly recommend), and I believe some 10-11$ selections.
Great selection, but not free, at least on the Meraviglia. Others may have a different experience.
Warmest, Amy
Can you just order on the TV and have it charged to obc account?
-
Am I correct that on-demand movies are free in any staterooms (not even Yacht Club)? If so, are you able to purchase them using OBC?

There is a marvelous feature that is included for each post.
It is the date (month, day, year for older posts) hours and minutes for new posts.
Pretty easy to determine if information is old.
yes. I kind of like when an old thread is revised. Less hopping all over, but I look at date to see when comment was made.

Lol. Me too! But I haven’t seen any bidding offers for $500 bucks. Maybe the opening bids drop closer to sailing? Idk I just go with booking what I’ll be happy in. Would hate to hold out for an upgrade only to be disappointed.
Oh, no, I've never seen that in the bid email offers. But other have been saying they've upgraded once on board for that low. I book knowing that I better be happy with my original choice. Inexpensive upgrade may be nice, but definitely not likely. lol

The entire experience we had far outweighs having a balcony.
That is what I'm hoping, but I am still hesitant.

I get and ignore because the minimum bid is usually more than upgrading outright via my TA. I've never found any value in the bidding process. Maybe I'm the exception rather than the norm.
Yes, but if it were only $500, I may consider it

Is there a breakdown of how many points are given for things? I would have no idea if I were missing anything 🙂
I found it! Sorry

That also states a welcome package of Prosecco and chocolate which is no longer the case. You now get to choose a bottle of liquor from a list.
Hmm, I don't see either the Prosecco/chocolate or the choice of a bottle listed on their website:
- Dedicated priority check-in and check-out as well as priority departure and return on excursion days
- 24-hour butler service and dedicated concierge
- Room Service available 24 hours a day
- Premium Extra Drink Package
- Premium Internet package (Browse - 2 devices Unlimited Internet Package)
- Complimentary access to the Thermal Suite in the MSC Aurea Spa
- Relaxation amenities in each suite (including bathrobe, and slippers)
- Pillow menu
- Other personal touches: luggage packing/unpacking service, newspaper directly delivered in stateroom on request
- MSC for Me wristband (where available)
- 1 free cruise change

In YC interior, how close would I be to deck area? I could give up the balcony if I just go out my door and walk a few steps. If it's long hallway to get there, maybe not.

Pool, 2 hot-tubs.
Is the yc area on seascape similar?
-
One more question. I've searched MSC site, but don't see any breakdown of the YC cabins. Are there some amenities that aren't included with interior cabins, but are with balcony or suite?
-
For those of you that ask about upgrading to a balcony once on board, do you get and ignore email to bid for an upgrade?

We always book an interior YC room, but when we get on the ship the FIRST thing we do is find tge Yacht Club director, and ask if there is availability to upgrade to a balcony YC cabin. More often than not, we get that upgrade for $500!!, for a 7 night cruise!!!
Do you originally book directly? If I use a TA to book the initial inside cabin, will the YC director still allow me to upgrade if it's me asking and not the TA?

The YC restaurant (Ocean House) was nice for lunch. No standing in line at the buffet.
So there is a separate restaurant for YC on the island? I wasn't aware of that! Are drinks also included?

Looking to book a future cruise. We usually choose a balcony (fantastica), but thinking of trying Yacht club this time, but it would have to be an inside. Trying to decide if it's worth the added cost.

Thanks!

Do voyager's club members receive 5% discount for any cruise booked, or just select ones? It is a year in advance

I booked before I got my status update. And got my 5% after the fact.
What level do you have to be for the discount? I'm guessing it was in OBC?

Are you certain a test is still required?

They've updated the website for USA finally. No test if vaccinated and nonvax can sail with test. Yayy!

Bagels
in Cruise Foodies
Posted
I know this thread is old, and I've tried searching without luck. My question is what cruise line do you all think has the best bagels? I know it's odd, but for my cruise partner, that is a factor in who we will book with! lol
