Yes, the position of the cabin was fantastic. I did a little tour to pace out the distance from TSL to the YIN cabins - stay tuned!

    Haha thank you Captain.

You are my new hero - But don’t tell Bea I don’t want a right hook in New York 😂

Thanks for the spa info very helpful.

Pleased to have added the skewer, cheese soufflé & crepe to my ‘special’ food list 🙄

  2. Thanks very much Captain, although looking at the snacks again is not good 😂

Very excited that you enjoyed the cabin position,  Myself and Bea have moved to deck 16 so it’s great to hear you were happy.

Very frustrating having an excursion pulled. We had that with RC the evening before for a beach day? Perhaps the sand was too yellow ?  The phone was put down when I asked why, so like you I went to the excursion desk.  There were about 100 people waiting in line, so we diverted to the bar rather than wait all night!

Glad we have only booked 1 MSC excursion now!

There is no excuse and it can lose business, hopefully MSC are watching this!

Someone the other day completely summed MSC up at the moment. Words to the effect of -  we knew it wasn’t going to be perfect but were prepared.

We’re sad to hear the spa was crowded and when we cruise on her from New York in October it’s hardly going to be pool deck weather!

Did you notice any times that were quieter than others? If not may have to use a couple of port day mornings. Any advice appreciated as always

    Thanks again Captain

I'll believe it when I experience it, Mark, and not before then. I've been hearing of it happening for so long that I groan every time the subject comes up.

Haha. Well I’m willing to have a bet on it.

By October 18th it will be announced or I will buy you a glass of Moët 😀

It comes direct from a serving Captain

Will add this to my list of complaints to go and queue about...

I’m hearing that Seaside maybe out of service next May for a few days.

With the popularity of the new duplex suite and queuing at guest services I’m just wondering if they plan to upgrade to a duplex guest services?😂

I have come to the conclusion that cruise companies are sexist!!!

i am the one who makes all the reservations etc and it is Matt who receives all the correspondence!

Including, just now an email from the captain welcoming us on board next week!

    #peeved!

This came up at the last meet and mingle I attended. It was question number 3 after “have you ever tried to use the website” and “do the call centre staff get any induction training” 🤔

The answer given was.....when a family, group or couple first book a cruise either online or via a call centre, whoever is the lead or passenger 1 will then forever and a day be the point of contact. I switched off a bit by this time and the free very strong cocktail at 10am had started to take effect. There was a TA at the meeting who said that when she logged on to the MSC booking page the drop down arrows are pre-set to the first one as Mr and second as Mrs. When asked if it was a female calling for a couple (1 male 1 female) what would she do? The reply was start inputting under passenger 2 as its “effort” to change the drop down title.

Is that sexist? In my book YES! Why should it be pre-filled at all?

Also apparently it’s a default from the first ever booking if you are classed as male or female and keeps going back to the original first input. Hence why people struggle so much to get it changed when wrong.

I'm very used to dealing with various nationalities

It’s such a shame how the MSC board has changed over the past few years.

You have summed up what sort of person you are by saying “I’m very used to dealing with various nationalities”

’various nationalities’ are to be embraced and cherished, learn from them its 2019 - there is no need to ‘deal’ with them.

  7. As it’s on the menu above shall I deflect the cheesecake saga for the ‘chocolate lava cake’ debate?

Originated in France in the late 70’s before it was ‘claimed’ to be invented in 1987 by a US based chef in.....yep you guessed it New York

    With dignity!

I can spend my mornings out there with a coffee and iPad whinging on this forum about how evil MSC are...

    Roll on next Saturday...

    Excellent answer 😂

You could do what some do: -

    1. Go to Guest Services

    2. Wait in line

    3. Complain long and loudly

    4. Tell everyone in the queue your gripe

    5. Tell every staff member & fellow cruiser

    6. Go back to step 1 above more aggressively

At disembarkation clear your life so you can tell everyone on CC until the end of time

    Have a great cruise 😀

We've looked at the next cruise being on a different line but as the wife says she likes MSC knows what she is going to get and is entirely happy with that.

    I have a wife like yours 😀

We stumbled across Cruising as a last minute thing by chance on MSC Splendida. Fell in love with cruising by about midnight on day 1.

Then booked 3 more cruises. 1 with NCL after finding this site and 1 with RC to see the difference for ourselves. The 3rd on MSC Divina.

The NCL cruise was a complete disaster, the RC cruise we were bored stiff after 5 days. Divina we absolutely loved.

Now have 2 MSC Cruises booked and would never risk another “so why are we not on an MSC ship” question again 🙄

  10. Thank you Captain your photos and descriptions are going to make it easier for us to persuade CF to “get out more” 😂😂😂😂

This is a really strange request Captain, please could you just estimate how many feet it is from  the TSL entrance to the 4 YC interior cabins 16006,16008, 16010 & 16012 next time you’re passing.

Hope you have a great sail away

Absolutely do NOT do that, unless as a final and last resort if in the highly unlikely event they advise you don't have full YC status!!

From the outset, definitely present yourself at the YC tent, act like you are a YC guest....do NOT at any time mention the Fantastica word, rather assume and act like you have all benefits. We have sailed YC on 3 occasions during the past year, and the YC staff (mainly butlers and their assistants) do not recognise any class other than YC.....I am confident you will report back that all is fantastic....and not Fantastica!

Of course Nikki is only going to say something if it becomes apparent the experience is not included lol

  12. This is what my booking confirmation states. Booked directly with the UK site for a US cruise.

Its on the very last page.......

    Service charge
The per guest, per night service charge is not included in the cruise fare and is to be paid on board at the end of the cruise or pre−paid at the time of booking. The service charge is mandatory and will be added to the final shipboard invoice. It is free for children aged up to 2 years old at the time of cruise departure date.
For further detailed info on service charge please consult our website www.msccruises.co.uk

So if I go on the website (for further info as directed) it’s says what Jody says above 😳

Jody does your booking confirmation have the UK or US address on the footer of each page?
