  1. As a Canadian citizen I was advised by my government to accept the first available vaccines, thus I had a Pfizer shot in April and a Moderna shot in July as that was what was available and the earliest I could get an appointment.  It appears I cannot travel on RC because of different vaccines and I was vaccinated more than 42 days between the vaccinations.  Very sad I cannot travel on my favourite cruise line.

  2. Hi, planning a cruise In May 2020 departing from Barcelona.  We would be arriving from Canada the day before the cruise mid morning and will be booking a hotel for the night.  When are we able to check in to the hotel? Do we wait until 3-4pm?  I imagine we will be pretty tired from lack of sleep on an overnight flight.

  3. I am thinking of booking a cruise in Europe on the Allure of the Seas.  I would like some opinions please from past cruisers who have cruised Europe on Allure or comparable or the smaller ships, Jewel or Rhapsody...which did you prefer?  Having so many more passengers on the larger ship, how did you find embarking and debarking the ship?  Was it more crazy in the ports with so many more passengers?

  4. We were on the Thanksgiving cruise as well. I feel like I was on a different cruise than others. Our cabin looked like it had just been renovated, all the furniture and carpet looked brand new. Our room attendant was always in the hallway and spoke to us each time we passed by. The ship looked great to me.

I enjoyed the food on board with the exception of the MTD - terribly overcooked duck and the shrimp cocktail so small and not cold - gross. However, our requested table for two was on the railing (good) and they had moved the two tops which go three across further away from each other so you don't feel like you are eating at the table beside you. I enjoyed the buffet when we went but wish they would dim the lights a bit so I don't feel like I'm in a school cafeteria. Chops and Giovanni's was good.

Music was very good in the Centrum. There was no Marriage game or Quest, so my daughter was disappointed (or did I miss it?).

I will agree that getting off the ship was not fun; even with our concierge bringing us down and accessing a "special" line, we waited probably 40 minutes to get through. At one point I was nervous we would miss our plane.

All in all I would have no hesitation to cruise the Brilliance again!

  5. We are Canadian and cruising the end of November '17. We will be landing in Tampa to join the cruise to Cozumel, Roatan, Key West and Grand Cayman. My daughter's passport expires before 6 months (May 10 '18). Should we renew her passport before we cruise? At the airport, they don't know where we are travelling other than to Tampa. Do we show our passports at each country we visit? Thx!

  6. I've been reading a few reviews and noticed that suite guests do not have access to the specialty restaurant for breakfast, it is only for the larger class ships? As well is there any priority seating in the theatre or pool area for suite guests on the Jewel? Another question - do suite guests need to reserve entertainment ahead or can they show their gold card to enter entertainment venues?

I'm feeling a bit disappointed, especially about breakfast in the specialty restaurant, guess I should have booked the Adventure!

  7. I've been reading a number of threads and have noted many people suggesting not to venture outside the security gates in Falmouth. Just wanted to share my experience.

My 28 year old very attractive daughter and myself, a typical 57 year old woman travelled on the Liberty of the Seas in January. We booked a private tour to visit Montego Bay and spend some time at Dr.'s Cave Beach. We met with our tour guide and found out we were the only people on the tour. :( Interesting...I felt uncomfortable but off we went. We toured MoBay and our guide felt we should cancel the beach part of the tour due to the rainy weather we were experiencing. I did receive my money back for the missed part of the tour. I ended up being very comfortable with our guide, a nice man, not particularly friendly but nice.

We decided to not enter the secuity gates but wander around Falmouth instead. We did this because I saw other tourists from the ships wandering about as well; I would not have otherwise. At no time were we bothered by anyone. Maybe because we were woman no drugs were pushed at us, but I thought my daughter might get a bit of unsolicted interest, but nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed wandering around Falmouth, taking pictures, etc.

So just wanted to make the point that we felt very comfortable in Falmouth, nobody stared at us, bothered us, everyone just went about their business. I love to hear other peoples' experiences that have happened lately.

Oh, and concerning Dunns River Falls - did this back in 1978 and have no interest in doing it again. I'm not sure why anyone wants to hang on to the person in front of them with their bum in your face while struggling up slippery rocks!:D

  8. Someone mentioned on another site that guests of Nellie's cabanas have access to the upgraded buffet AGAIN. In other words, I know it was taken away late last year, but has been reinstated? Can anyone confirm this? (Please don't confuse this with people who had booked before Oct./13.)
