  1. I know this has been asked lots of times but I need clarification. If I am Diamond and my husband is not, can he join me in the Diamond Lounge?

If I am Diamond and my adult daughter is not (my roommate, no husband on trip) can she join me in the Diamond Lounge?

Just asking all the experts out there without being reprimanded for asking, please! ;)

  2. I have never used a TA before, I always book directly with RC. If I decide to book with a TA, I realize I do not own the reservation and have to go through the TA for any room changes, price changes, etc. My question is if I want to make restaurant reservations, shore excursions, etc., can I contact RC directly or do I have to get the TA to reserve?

  3. I had the same choice as you but on the Liberty. I knew I did not want to be under the hottub because I was concerned it would be too shady. I opted for #1274 which adjoined a D1. I would definitely go for #1286; much more central to the elevators, and I never heard a thing from our adjoining room, in fact I forgot it was there. Great room location!

Oops! I think you are on the Liberty!

  4. WE didn't get an email from the concierge's on the Allure of the Seas but did get an email from the concierge on the Liberty both times for our recent B2B. It really stood out to me and it surely reflected in the service that she provided to us during both cruises. If they go the extra effort to email you, then they will provide that personal attention you may need on the ship. That's just my experience and we were very Pleased with Oana on the liberty. Not so much on the Allure.

I agree! Oana was wonderful on our Liberty cruise. So personable. On the other hand, the Oasis - never had any contact with the two concierges at any time.

  5. I have put down a deposit on "Jewel Runaway Bay" with Resort for a Day as I could not reserve the Hilton Rose Hall as planned. Trip Advisor has pretty good reviews of the resort but these reviews are for people actually staying at the resort, not day visitors.

I'm hoping to hear some info from cruise guests who may have visited this resort while on their cruise.

  6. I've just booked a Nellie's waterfront cabana for my upcoming cruise. What is the procedure from here? Will info be left in our room about where to go? How is the specific cabana assigned? Is there any special treatment given for booking a Nellie's cabana other than we get a cabana? (I DO know that we can no longer access the Barefoot Beach buffet.) I'm asking this because the last time we booked a cabana it was on Barefoot Beach and the concierge took us from the concierge lounge to the gates of Barefoot Beach and I already knew which cabana we were assigned. I'm pretty sure I'm paying a lot more for less this trip!

  7. Thank you for your review, Queen of Oakville, I'm from Oakville too, but I guess I'll have to settle for Princess of Oakville! I am very interested in the flight you took from Niagara Falls, NY to Lakeland, Fla. Where is the Lakeland airport in comparison to the Orlando airport and Port Canaveral? It looks like you got an amazing deal; I'd never heard of this before. Please clue me in!

Wish I'd known this sooner - I've already booked my flights using Airmile points but the taxes and insurance I had to pay out of pocket which were crazy-priced.

  8. Best report ever, Jen, thanks so much for recording this. Now about these bears, OMG, bears are a definite phobia of mine, I cannot walk in any woods that might have a bear in it. What did Sarah say about the possibility of one of the bear's coming after you? Were you to behave in a certain way? Did Sarah tell you what to look for if the bear seemed to be becoming aggressive? You had no protection at all? I am absolutely fascinated but I could never do this adventure. Good for you!

  9. Dirtgirl, this is definitely the best and most interesting review I have ever read.

Now a question on travel and medical insurance - sorry to be so naive but do you have advice on where or who to buy insurance from? Do I buy it when booking my cruise from the cruiseline or depend on my Visa card, or, or,...I'm just not sure what is the best route to go. I'd appreciate any advice you or anyone could give me. I'm from the Toronto area and we normally book directly with RCI. Thank you and thank you for your amazing review!:)

  10. Has anyone attended this dinner on the AOS and did they enjoy it? It is quite expensive, over $60.00 each and I'd like to know what food they serve and is the wine free flowing? Is the entertainment a lot of fun? How much audience participation is there and are you centered out? There would just be the two of us and I know they put you at a table with others, so we would not have our own "group" to participate with. Also, it seems the mystery dinner is the same night as formal night, so we would miss out on that. Any thoughts?
