The answers to this thread made me laugh ;-)
For what its worth we always use Freedom Dining and in May decided to remove our auto tips and pay as we went for specific staff members. It didn't work so in August we went back to paying the gratuities and extra for those who went over and above like the cabin steward. To be honest, no one individual 'sparkled' on the dining room and all were ok, so we were glad that we had kept them on.
Not saying everyone should etc , but on this occasion it worked out well for us.
How much do people tip the cabin stewards or is this in the auto tips

Hi, had an absolutely fantastic cruise! Was really worried about the metal balcony. Thought it would be tiny with restricted view but it was so much better than we could have imagined. There were 3 chairs on the balcony but you could have easily have fitted in about another 6! The view was fantastic, we loved looking out as we came into port or sailed away and spent quite a bit of time on the balcony sunbathing. The room was a great size as well. There were 3 of us and our daughter had the choice of either the pull out sofa bed or the bed that came out of the ceiling. Once out it did restrict access to the balcony and the fridge but really not a problem. The only tiny tiny niggle that we had was the pressure of the shower but did not spoil the room in any way. Once I've got myself sorted, only got back yesterday, I can upload a couple of photos of the room if you'd like or you might like to keep it as a surprise. It was also quite a trek to the laundrette but I can honestly say that if we were ever to cruise again on Britannia I would definitely book one of those rooms. I need another holiday now as not ready to get back to "normal" life"!!
Hi just wondered did you get a chance to put up a few photos
Thanks x

Sounds great
Would love to see a few pics if you can
Funny I wondered if the sun hit the balcony to sunbathe as I haven't seen the sun for a while
The recent reviews on here are very poor at the minute, people complaining about a sewage smell etc in their room.....
Delighted to hear you had a great time and the choice of room is perfect.
It will be 3 of us as well , husband , son, me.
Hoping my son will enjoy the kids clubs and then we can relax. I picked the room mainly as I was so worried about my son falling over - probably sounds silly but I am assuming there is a mast or something in front so it isn't straight down !!!!
Looking forward to hearing from you
Thanks again

Hi college buddy

Hope it all went well.
Did we pick a good room

We are heading on our cruise this October - repostitioning cruise so fly home only. ( premium economy)
Seat bookings only became available 12 weeks before. I checked regularly from 15 weeks on.
They must become available at midnight because I didn't check until the following morning exactly 12 weeks and nearly all seats booked - there were only 3 seats left available together so I would suggest to keep a close eye.
£75 per person.
Quite frustrating - would be so less hassle if everyone could book their seats at time of booking holiday and charge at the time. No stress then.
Happy booking...

I had a look there at the transport on the Heathrow website and used Friday next week and the cheapest price was £92 odds so it does work out better for you right enough. We didn't fancy going by road so we're taking the 'scenic route (I hope) and letting the train take the strain.
Thanks
Great to hear another Belfast cruiser
-
I am assuming the taxi is around £100
By the time we pay for busses and trains for the 3 of us we might as well pay the wee bit extra - no ?
Flying in from Belfast too
-
Does anyone have any recommendations for taxis from Heathrow to Southampton the day before a cruise - staying in hotel overnight in Southampton so there aren't any issues with flight
There seems to be so many it would be great to get a recommendation
Thank you

Ok
Thanks for the heads up

HiJust wondering if anyone is going on this cruise with children?
This is my first transatlantic and first cruise in 10 years.
We are taking our son aged 8.
Really looking forward to it and hoping he has fun and make some friends.

Thank you
Never know if there is any point in bringing my own if they have nice toiletries there
Thanks
-
Just a question to you all about toiletries
Is there shampoo / conditioner / shower gel in the bathrooms for everyday ?
If so what are they ?
Or is it best to bring your own ?
Thanks for your replies in advance 😊

I have just booked cabin A101 on the Britannia next August. Only our second cruise and this time we decided to go for a balcony. Hopefully it won't be a problem having a metal balcony and being right at the front of the ship? Am sooo excited already!
I have booked cabin A101 on Britannia for TA in October 17
How did it suit you college buddy 😊
Hoping it is a great choice

Great thank you for your help

Hi, I will be cruising on Britannia on the TA in October.( all booked )
Just wondering does anyone know the maximum number of kids that go.
I will have my 8 year old son with me and I see now that his age group between 5-8 is full so it must be at capacity for his club but how many will be in his club ?
Does anyone know ?
Thanks
-
Wow
That's great
Thanks for your reply

hi guys
Just wondering if anyone has stayed in the cabins at the very front of Britannia A Deck
We are staying in A101 and it states restricted
Just wondering  if anyone has been in any cabins at front facing.
Thanks
-
Delighted to hear that
Really want him to have fun as an only child he craves other kids company 😊
-
We don't have the same rules in NI regarding children out of school so hoping even just 1 or 2 kids to play with would be great.
But it will be nice if there isn't that many too. :D

Hi
I booked on the Britannia yesterday for the transactlantic crossing in October. (Very excited)
Just wondering if there are many children on board usually for this sailing as I will have my 8 year old son with me for his first cruise.

Heading off with P&O very soon and checking all my documents but can't seem to find where it notes my on board credit.
At the time of booking it was £750 but I can't seem to see it now on my documents
Can anyone direct me as I am now worried it has disappeared
