NCL has reviews of their shore excursions but those two have no reviews posted.

I am looking at this as well for July and was trying to decide between the NCL "Tortola by Land & Sea" and "Best of Tortola." I hope someone can share their experiences.

Stevans160, I think my cabin (9894) is above the Dolce Gelato, so I'm glad to hear you liked that location!
-
Changed cabin to 9894 (other side of the ship) but still have the same question. Has anyone stayed in a deck 9 balcony cabin and have an opinion about being above the waterfront restaurants? Thanks!
-
I haven't sailed on Norwegian in years but will be on the Getaway this summer. I booked cabin 9290 and am wondering if I need to make a change. Since the restaurants on the waterfront would be beneath our balcony, I'm thinking it might be loud or not seem very private. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has had a balcony on deck 9. Thanks!

Yes, that is Gerardo's e-mail address.

We used Gerardo in July and were happy with him. He spoke good English, and we enjoyed his company.

He had a sign with my name on it, so we found him right away! I felt very comfortable with him from the very beginning and was very glad we had chosen him as our tour guide. Thanks for recommending him, Tom!

Since I started this thread, I wanted to let everyone know how our day went in Cozumel on July 3. I pre-arranged a tour with Gerardo, an English-speaking taxi driver, to take us to the other side of the island. We enjoyed the tour and feel that we learned a lot about the island from Gerardo. We went to Paradise Beach, El Cedral, the Reggae Beach Bar, El Mirador, and ate at Coconuts. We took some fantastic pictures! If you want to contact him, his e-mail address is cozumeltaxi @ hotmail .com (without the spaces). Since there were only three of us, we were in a car, but he can get a van for larger groups.

This was posted by dluvsd on another thread:
"We hired a driver in Cozumel last week. I found his name and number on this site and he was great!!! His name is Roger and his number is 9871054996 (of course you'll have to put the country code of 52 before the number followed by a 1 and then the above number! I highly recommend him!!!"

Paradise_Beach_Tom--I have sent you an e-mail at the address provided.
Thanks everyone for giving me such great information!!
-
Paradise_Beach_Tom--I will talk with my family and see if using Gerado at $80 for 3 hours is what we want to do. Should I contact you via the e-mail address provided by kenf333?
-
kenf333--I appreciate your efforts! I really want to do this cheaply, but I also would prefer a driver that speaks English. I guess I want it all! ;)
-
kel3120--Your photos are beautiful! It makes me wish we were leaving tomorrow instead of in 8 weeks! I appreciate the intinerary, too. That gives me a good idea of things to see.
Bigeyeparrott--How far in advance did you call Roger?
Jojomacing--Since you had five people, I'm assuming this taxi was a van. There are three in my family but another couple is wanting to come along. I'm just afraid with none of us speaking Spanish that we would have problems unless we could find an English-speaking driver. Did you take the first taxi you saw or asked multiple drivers before deciding? Were there lots of vans?
-
kenf333, I appreciate your suggestions! It won't work for me, but it may work for a larger group.

I got a reply from sherri@cozumelinsider.com and she save me this link:
https://cozumelinsider.com/Customczm
Their prices are:
Prices per van - not per person
1-4 passengers
$214 for 4 hours
$283 for 6 hours
5-8 passengers
$283 for 4 hours
$352 for 6 hours
That is definitely more than I was wanting to pay, since we are a small group.

kel3120, I would appreciate hearing about the stops you made and any other details you can provide! Thanks!
-
I contacted Jane Stewart (janiecoz@yahoo.com) and she is no longer setting up drivers.
Bigeyeparrot, did you contact Roger by cell phone before you arrived? How many people was he able to take? What did he charge and for how long? Thanks for any information you can give me!
-
Now that I look back at my notes, Gaby charges $95 for five hours (not four as I originally stated), which is actually cheaper than hiring a taxi for $20 an hour as long as you want to tour for five hours. I'm hoping someone has used him recently. Thanks!
-
I guess a taxi would be fine, but I think we'd like a driver that spoke English. We also don't have an itinerary planned for the island, so I thought a "guide" would be better than a taxi driver. If someone has had experience hiring a taxi and touring the island, I'd appreciate hearing how it went.
-
Has anyone done this lately? If so, who did you use? We've been to Cozumel many times but have never really seen the island, so this time (July 3) I'd like to hire someone to take us around. I know you can rent a car, but I'm not too keen on me or my husband doing the driving. I've read about Gaby, a driver you can hire for $95 for four hours, but it's been awhile since anyone has posted about using him. There will be three of us--myself, my husband, and 20-year-old son. We will be there from 8:00 to 5:00 with only one other ship in port. Any help would be appreciated!
Post-cruise hotel close to Marco Polo Airport in Venice
in Italy Ports
Posted
We will be on the Rhapsody in November. We are staying a day after the cruise in Venice and want to find a hotel near the airport since we will probably book a morning flight (on Sunday). Do you have any suggestions and/or experiences with hotels near the airport? Also, what transportation did you take to the airport early in the morning? I'm assuming you have to be at the airport at least 2-3 hours before the flight.
