I was the one who started this, and yes, she is the only one going to Bermuda.  Reluctantly, I booked after our experience.  I am hoping perhaps this tread will get the message to manage to take some action for this season and next.  Hopefully they can replace and clean up this ship where possible. I know that monies are an issue but not replacing soiled and damaged items are not good.

I have photos but reluctantly will not post.  During our first three days our balcony was painted, balcony furniture was replace, and we got a new fabric sofa replacing our leather or leather like sofa.  The sheer curtail with foot long holes/rips were left in place.  The carpeting also was left intact and the badly scratched table remained. . In my opinion, the room steward should have reported most of this.  We also books dogged eared and wrinkled left from previous sailing.  I can tell you that a hotel manger and the concierge rep did all they could to resolve are issues.

AgainI will say, we had an awesome trip In spite of our cabin disappointment.  As I have said before, we sail and take trips for destinations.  We had six superb excursions some celebrity and some not.

Are you booked for a 2024 cruise to Bermuda on Eclipse?  If you are, may I ask what deck and stateroom type?  We sailed on Summit to Bermuda 5 years in a row. Stateroom on deck 7 veranda midship, which was perfect for us.

  2. I didn’t use a TA. I booked online on the Celebrity site.  I tried every number I had at about 1am and the recording stiff said there was a 30 minute wait.
I called again early this morning from both phones and had them on speaker phone while I did a few things.  Finally after a 45 minute wait I spoke to someone and was able to cancel and will be getting my deposit back.
      Thanks for your advice.

Log into your account, manage reservation, pay balance. You should see a link on that page to cancel your cruise.

I tried that. The cancel “button” is there but it doesn’t do anything?
I’ve spent hours on hold today.  I’ll try again early in the morning.  I have to cancel by 3/5.

Does anyone here have the Captains Club phone number?

  4. Did you happen to use the gym while on Summit?  I’m referring to the weight lifting area, treadmills, not the spa nor the classes.  I read somewhere here that they limit the number of people allowed into this area at a time.  I called and the woman I spoke to said that they do, so,e times?    My husband is a real gym rat and the idea of not being able to work out on the cruise is enough to cancel.

  5. We have done the Bermuda cruise on Summit 6 years in a row. And loved it.  We skipped a few due to Covid concerns.  We are now booked for this June.

for those who have sailed on Summit recently, what changes have you seen?  How are they handling the buffet?  Still self serve? And the fitness center.  Is it still open?

probably will avoid buffets or try to be the first one on line.  I like the idea of the staff serving the food.  Avoids those who eat on line, then lick their fingers then touch another utentil.

That’s disgusting, but I’ve seen it done.  Thanks for your input.
