  1. No, can you do that with a steak. Prime rib as served on the ships is roast of beef, not a steak. The roasts average 18-20 pounds in commercial kitchens before cooking. That must be some skillet.

From " Food Literacy " online: " It’s also very easy to cook. You just start it in the oven at a high temperature to get good browning on the outside of the roast, and then cook it at a lower temperature to make sure the meat in the center doesn’t get over cooked."

My bad, assumed they were referring to a steak. For prime rib yes you would start in in a very hot oven with some seasoning to get crust then lower the temp to cook.

  2. Booked a Havana Cabana for Oct this year last April. We got the last one before they sold out due to the popularity. The semi-private area was a huge selling point as well as the amenities on deck 5. Doubt we would have booked a Carnival sailing otherwise.

  3. Unfortunately you've witnessed "its my vacation and I'll do what I want syndrome". There is no known cure but prevention is possible by reporting those affected with this syndrome to staff if its abusive, smile it off for lessor offensive behaviors or seeking less crowded venues. It doesnt only exist on cruise ships, but is harder to avoid due to a captured audience.

  4. Did a partial transit on Princess, once we got through the locks those that wanted to were tendered to the port for either a train or boat ride to the pacific side lock. They were then put on a bus to meet the ship back in Colon. There were a few options, but that was the basic scenario. Pacific side is supposed to be more impressive, but we stayed on the ship.

  5. Is there any type of coffee bar on Carnival Breeze that you can go to for coffee and relax. I'm used to Princess International Cafe with fresh brewed coffee and free snacks You do need to purchase the coffee card if you don't want to pay for coffee. Does Carnival have a card you can purchase with out the alcohol package that's just for coffee? What about cookies and other snacks?
Love the IC on Princess, our favorite hang out place. Wish Carnival would rethink how they handle

  6. If the right terms are used it makes sense. The major "networks" broadcast their content to their affiliates which comprise of their networks for free "over the air" service. The commercials you see pay for the content. Cable & satellite providers pay a fee for this content to put on their system which you pay for with a subscription.

All this is relatively cheap on land but at sea the content must be fed to a ship that is moving and must maintain a system able to handle the vast amount of data that is transmitted.

All this is expensive and as it's not part of the core service and generates no revenue, it's highly likely to be cut or restricted. As stated above, Carnival wants you spending not chillin' in your room watching Blue Bloods or "local news"
